Dana is awesome, has years of experience and listens to your concerns. I have been seeing Dana for almost 25 years. She is knowledgeable and continues to explore new techniques and things to try. One of my most favorite additions is some heated bamboo stick she uses in parts of her sessions. I also love her stone massages (especially during the cold MN winters). Dana will tailor your massage to your needs; you only need to communicate what they are. For example, she helped me so much with scar tissue and flexibility after I broke my arm (humerus bone) one year. How do I leave a review on the worst massage experience I've ever experienced in my 42 years of getting them, without sounding like a bitter customer? Dana is very nice. Her massage room is inviting, the bed is super comfortable, the music was perfect, the space heater on a cold night was a nice touch, the linens were soft and clean..BUT the massage was bleh and very underwhelming for what I went in and asked for. I filled out the questionnaire at the start where you have your consultation ( there really wasn't one-she never asked what I wanted for my massage ) so I wrote that I had severe tendinitis in my right shoulder, arm and hand. I also reiterated this when I laid down on the massage table and explained that I worked up to 20 hours a day at my computer. I waited the entire 90 minutes for Dana to work out the knots and inflammation on my neck, shoulder, and arm area but to my disappointment she never did any work other than relaxation strokes. Only light relaxation strokes were applied for the entire 90 minute massage to be honest. I kept hoping that she was just loosening me up and that she would begin to "massage" the area's I requested, but sadly that never happened. At the end of the massage I after I dressed and met Dana in the office, I expressed to her my disappointment in the massage and that I was now going to have to spend another $135 dollars to get a massage elsewhere and have my pain relieved. She said "Yeah, you're right, I should have done that" "" I didn't really look at the paper" All I can do for you is charge you for a 60 minute or give you a 30 minute massage another time. A massage is a very expensive luxury and something I work very hard to be able to afford. I am very disappointed and feel as though I should have been offered at least a return visit in the next 24-48 hours to get the massage I actually came in for. I did end up paying for a 60 minute massage at a cost of $91 and am now still in pain and out that money and the additional expense of having a different masseuse at a different place fix me up. I went in there feeling like I could barely walk, with back and sciatic pain, and after an hour with Dana, I felt so much better. My muscles were sore/tender in a good way, I felt like the knots had really been worked out and the the sciatic pain was gone. I have herniated disks so I know it will come back eventually, but for the last week, I have been so much better and plan to go regularly to stay on top of the pain. Dana does great work!
