Very poor experience with Thermal Shield. We paid an $11,000 deposit 7 months ago. We signed a work order to enclose our back porch. The work was to be completed by August 30, 2025. The work order was signed on April 10, 2025. We have no supplies or materials and only get contact from Gerald when we complain or question when the work will be done. Even then we only get vague excuses and promises. I notified Thermal Shield that the contract was expired and that I wanted a refund. I allowed 30 days for the refund. It is now November 2, 2025 and I have no refund and no communication from the company. We will be proceeding with legal action and notifying the Consumer Protection Agency of the Kentucky Attorney Generals Office. The work has not been started and now we read other negative reviews. This company does not have a contractor license for the state of WV. It expired in June of 2020. The owner - Gerald DeLong - does not communicate with his customers in a timely fashion (if at all) and when he does, he gives every excuse imaginable for each delay. We ordered a whole house replacement of casement windows - we received 1/2 of them IN THE WRONG COLOR with very shoddy installation work and never received the rest of the order. Despite many, many attempts to renegotiate the timeline of delivery and installation, the project is still unfinished more than 16 months after signing the contract. Yes - a lawsuit has been filed. The first time it exercised it was fine. The second time it gave me a fuel fault and after restating it with the help of Generac I had a larger gas meter installed. On May 24 it faulted again with the same code. I called this company and they couldn't help with service because the only tech was off with persona reasons. tell me when it would be serviced. A week later a girl from the company called me and said she had no idea when they could get out here to fix the problem ! I have called a new service company. They will be out on the 6th of this month to repair the issue and take over servicing my unit. This company is USELESS after the sale.
