Third planet is downtown Bham's home to all things interesting, eclectic, trendy, and "where do I find a gift for someone who has everything?" I always make a point of stopping in when I'm in the area, and I always pick up something fun like a greeting card or sticker. They also have an impressive selection of clothing and accessories, journal supplies, and all sorts of random ephemera that you really have to see to believe. Their prices are super fair, especially on candles and jewelry. Third Planet may not be full of anything I really "need" but I always seem to find a way to spend money there! read more

I was taking a stroll downtown when visiting Bellingham and this spot caught my eye - it was so dang cute. I love a good, bold store for sure. The staff was super sweet and there are all sorts of trinkets to look at. There wasn't much in terms of clothing in my size, but there were crystals and metaphysical goodies galore. I did purchase a chakra balancing essential oil spray that I am obsessed with for sure. I always love supporting shops like this that support local artists and makers. read more

UPDATE: I contacted the store via email and the customer service was amazing! They have offered a full refund for the item since shipping is currently terrible with the holidays. They have notified employees to wrap glass items more carefully in the future. I appreciate their prompt response to fix the issue! This is a cool store, but I bought a $30 candle as a Christmas gift and asked the employee if they could wrap the glass well to protect it in the bag. One item in the bag was wrapped well, but the candle was NOT wrapped at all and somehow on the journey from the store to the car the candle broke. They did not put any paper around the candle to protect it even though I asked them to. We didn't notice until we got back home to Seattle, so now I'm down $30 and out of a Christmas gift for a family member which is unfortunate. read more

What a charming, fun and friendly place! Very eclectic. Overall, the greatest appeal will be for women (or so I think because I'm a woman and it was stuff for women that caught my eye!) I bought a most charming carved frog carved from tiger's eye and which I thought was a great bargain--and helped by the most charming Jediah. There's a lot of stuff here, and it will be fun to come back for repeated meanderings. read more

Typically I love this place but after my mother (who has a brain injury) was verbally assaulted about lowering her mask by an employee (Hayden) my friends, family, and I won't support this store again anytime soon. I understand the importance of masks during this time and the frustration of dealing with customers who don't listen but there is a proper way to speak to (ALL) people and that's with respect and compassion. Save the rude and disrespectful commits for the people who do not comply. Just flat-out rude how you treated a disabled person today...absolutely disgusted and unimpressed. read more

Just wanted to add that I've also bought multiple crystal grab bags from here and they are AMAZING! Such a good value for your money and I always get different stuff every time. I'm writing this review again because yelp decided to remove it. The first problem with this place is when you go to enter the store there is a sign at the front door with a rope blocking the entrance that says, "...after you have been waiting for a while we will let you in...". After seeing that I should have never walked in.... It's like there was directions to just walk into the place....but I was with a few other people that wanted to go in still. Keep in mind this is during COVID. I had my mask over my face before I walked in through the doors and my mask was properly covering my face the entire time. I was looking at a few of the items on the shelves and an associate literally came from all the way across the store to tell me to pull my mask up. I think his name was Hayden or something. The part that was very frustrating to me, was that my mask was completely covering my nose. So I was a bit confused as to why he was telling me to pull it up. And he was quite literally patrolling me the entire time I was in the store. I was so uncomfortable, I ended up just leaving because I just couldn't handle it anymore. While I was in the store, the few items I was able to look at were extremely overpriced. It's mostly just jewelry and nick nacks that are way too expensive that you could definitely just make yourself. There were selling coffe mugs that were literally $30. I don't recommend this store to anyone. The workers seem like control freaks and I felt like I was being watched the whole time. Not the kind of environment I want to be in when I'm trying to enjoy myself and shop. read more

This store seems to cater to women and those who use water pipes. It is nice to see a local store in downtown Bellingham, but it is meant for a select set of college-aged customers. This shop calls itself a "hippie boutique," and that's an accurate description. Most of the sales floor is filled with the hippie-est of clothing, and they sell a wide variety of other goodies, like incense & burners, cool change purses, buddha figurines, handbags, salt lamps, made-in-the-USA greeting cards, and glass pipes. Terrible customer service. I went in this afternoon looking for nose jewelry. I found a piece I liked and because it was in a glass case, I needed an employee's assistance to get to it. I patiently browsed around the store while a gal with pink hair checked out the only costumer buying something. When she was done, I approached the counter and asked her politely if I could take a look at a nose ring. She rolled her eyes and said, "there's another employee over there," as she points to another gal without shoes on. They do not wear uniforms so it is not obvious who is an employee and who is a customer. She then stormed off to the jewelry case to open it for me. I told her no thanks and left. I'll be buying my jewelry from some one who isn't acting like an inconvenienced a-hole. Maybe you should find another line of work, lady with pink hair, because your costumer service skills suck! read more

Worst customer service ever. I tried to return a dress that I bought for $30 that had a manufacturer default - rips on the seem. They copped an attitude with me and told me I could easily fix it with a needle and thread. They wouldn't even exchange it for me cause they would be losing money. Well hey I just lost money from buying your shitty dress. Go smoke another blunt and get over yourselves. I will think twice in supporting another local business. My children and I, ages eight and 10, wandered into the store and we were happy to find an assortment of rocks and beautiful jewelry. Rodrick spent at least an hour helping us try on rings, look at pendants, and even helped us make a necklace in the end. He never once showed impatience and was very pleasant and helpful the whole time--even with my picky son. We each left happy, having spent a lovely hour of exploring treasures and chatting with our friendly sales person. My daughter even started chatting with the other sales people, who are very friendly with her as well. She admired their unique style and cool necklaces (she wanted me to add that). read more
