Want Cat Butt gum? How about Cat Butt magnets? Hand sanitizer that says 'Maybe You Touched Your Genitals'? A chicken wine stopper? Look no further than Cresswell Boggs, which is practically across the street from Mallard Ice Cream, so after you are done dropping your hard earned cash at the ice cream store, take a walk over here! The stuff in the store has a lot of my favorite items by Fred, Lip Shit, Accoutrements, Douglas toys and other gag items. They've managed to assemble all the gag gifts (and some really nice ones too) under one roof. Be prepared to spend a lot of money here. The inflatable cat unicorn horn was $9.99 here and $6.99 at Archie McPhee in Seattle. But still, take into consideration that you are in a historical town and you don't have to look further than a few steps for everything zany (and not so zany). Parking is on the street and metered parking is free on weekends and holidays. I didn't know this and fed the parking meter money on a Saturday (3/25/17) until I saw the sticker on the meter. Doh! The store is very large with funky gag gifts, funky practical gifts, hundreds of suspended glass Christmas ornaments, an extensive selection of greeting cards and humorous magnets, gift wrapping papers and ribbons, note cards and stationery and lovely gemstone jewelry. You'd be hard-pressed not to find any gift and card for any recipient here. I took off a star from my rating because I saw some identical items in some Fairhaven stores earlier in the day for $1 to $2 less than they sell for here. I bought a nose ring today, walked out of the store and, while removing it from the tiny plastic bag, it snapped in half. I literally turned around and walked back in and they REFUSED to refund my $21 OR offer me a trade. Ridiculous. I'll never shop there again. read more

This is a great stop for cards, gifts, and souvenirs. They have a nice selection of humorous and random items. Need a new flask? They've got those. Jewelry? No problem. Bigfoot themed gifts/souvenirs? Yes, of course. Fake mustaches? Yes, what color? There's a nice selection of Bellingham items which include the artwork of local artists. This store seems a little pricey to me but I'll be the first to admit that I'm cheap. For a quick cost comparison, I found a pair of socks that I like for ~$14. The same pair of socks were ~$10 at Modsocks. There really are a lot of great items here. A nice stop for a quick and humorous gift. read more

Making our annual trek to find our 2015 holiday ornament addition and did we find a humdinger. It makes me want to string Cheetos instead of popcorn. This place is chock full of chotskis. $12 a pop isn't exactly a deal for a tree ornament be picked up but there are many items I doubt that I would ever run across in a mall. The person behind the counter was wunderbar. My son and I each picked out the same ornament from two different areas only to find out once we got home that one was priced $5.95 and the other was priced $3.95. read more

I walked into this store thinking that it would be too girly for my best friend, however, since we both have a sense of humour and love Kitsch and pop culture cool, this was an awesome store. So many cool things to buy like a pac-man oven mit, bacon toothpicks, bacon water tablets (to make bacon soda), drumsticks chopsticks, ice cube tray in a shape of guns, cupcake jars. It's not your usual gift shop. They're practical items with a humorous cool side that are great conversation starters. There's something kitsch for everyone, even my mother who is impossible to buy for. The lady at the til was friendly and also appreciated my sense of humour. The prices are very reasonable as they're half of what they cost for similar items in Vancouver. Even if you don't have the money, it's a fun place to look at and have a smile on your face. read more

Sometimes you just need a gift shop. You need to find a chotchky or a piece of kitch which will do perfectly for a hostess gift, shower gift, engagement party gift, etc. etc. etc. They have cards, jewelery, holiday wares, gag gifts, books, stationary, mugs, office supplies after a nature, journals, toys, and much much more stuff. This place is packed. I wouldn't say this place is super wheel chair freindly and their shop keepers are less then knowledgeable about their products but seriously who on earth could memorize all this stuff! I've walked by Cresswell-Boggs a million times and always thought it was a jewelry store or a tampon dealership or something girly like that. Turns out, it is a card shop. They've got small gifts for kids and adults and the traditional card-shop stuff, but they also have funny gifts that I would expect to get at a store like Spencer Gifts at a mall. Definitely a cool store to pickup a last-minute gift for special events or birthdays. read more

I loved this store! I write a lot of letters, so knowing where to find cute cards and stationary is a must for me. But this store has a lot more than just stationary. I spent a solid hour in there chuckling and admiring things. They have a lot of neat things that most people wouldn't buy for themselves (which makes them perfect gifts). I now have a list of things for future birthdays and occasions (definitely getting the mustache kit:). Their stuff is a bit pricey, but I wouldn't say it is more expensive than any other gift shop. Whenever I have someone goofy to get a gift, or want a one-of-a-kind card, I will go to Cresswell Boggs. Warning though, this is not a store that you can go in and out of, you will be there looking at everything there is to offer and have fun doing it! On the other hand, the ten or so times I have been in there I have never been greeted, and they don't talk to you at all when you are shopping, ask if you want help, and no words are spoken at the cash register. They've gotten my business 3 out of those ten times, the others I just put everything down and left because of being angry with the customer service. Whenever I can I like to wonder around downtown Bellingham and I always have to hit up Cresswell Boggs! They always have new stuff, based on the season, so there is always something new to see. Their cards are a little pricy, but they are so cute, and I have always gotten great responses from the people I send the cards to. I got the cutest tattoo valentine's day cards last year there! It is overall a great place to look for gifts, or even just get ideas for the upcoming holiday. And even if you don't have money to spend, its sooo fun looking around! read more

Cresswell Boggs was my go to gift shop up until last Wednesday. I brought my friend from Texas to the store so he could buy a gift for his cousin. The store clerk asked for his Drivers License since he was paying for a T-shirt with a credit card. After he showed her his ID she told him she didn't feel comfortable selling him the T-shirt. He took his card back and we ended up going to Paper Dreams and bought the T-shirt there. I am not sure why she discriminated against him, what ever reason she had it was wrong. Not only did she refuse to sell the shirt to him she reported the card as stolen. The next day he had to go into his bank and deal with the situation. This was a horribly embarrassing experience for me since I recommended the store and reflected poorly on the store itself. I went in and talked to another sales person who said the manager would call me. I never received a phone call. Not only will I never shop here again, I will not recommend the store to my friends or family. read more
