I've been a member of this gym for years, and unfortunately I'm now seriously considering canceling…read moremy membership because of an issue that should have been very simple to resolve. For approximately two months, I have repeatedly raised concerns about the ventilation and fan settings in the HIIT Zone and the studios used for Zumba and cycling. These are intense, high-energy classes, yet the fans are running extremely slowly and appear to be set to pull the air upward rather than circulate it down into the workout area. During classes, the room becomes so uncomfortable that I often cannot make it through even half the class without feeling like I can't breathe properly or perform at my normal level. I spoke with staff members on three separate occasions and was told the issue would be addressed. I eventually spoke directly with the manager by phone and explained that I have a medical condition, including hypertension, and specifically asked whether the fan adjustment could be treated as an accommodation. I wasn't asking for anything complicated. I simply asked them to increase the fan speed during these intense classes or, since the fan controls are locked inside a cage, allow appropriate access so the fan could be increased during class and lowered afterward if energy cost was the concern. The manager told me that he would increase the fan speed immediately after our phone call. Unfortunately, nothing changed. What is most disappointing is that I have been trying to resolve this for about two months. I didn't immediately leave a negative review--I spoke to staff multiple times and then management because I genuinely wanted to give the gym an opportunity to fix the problem. I really hate the idea of leaving because Dom and Joy teach some of my favorite classes and they are excellent trainers. But paying for a membership when I cannot properly participate in the classes because of inadequate airflow doesn't make sense. At this point, I'm considering canceling my membership and finding a gym that takes members' concerns seriously, especially when someone has clearly explained that the issue affects a medical condition. After years of membership, I expected better communication and a reasonable effort to resolve something as simple as adjusting a fan. The 2 stars are for Dom and Joy

I wanted to get back into the gym post-quarantine and I started looking for gyms around the area…read more I've tried Title Boxing, F45, and close to 15+ other places before choosing Pure Form because I walked in and had a gut feeling that this was exactly what I was looking for! I didn't feel pressured to join at all from my first call with Michael to inquire about the class schedule and when I finally came in, the atmosphere was perfect! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, I didn't want to leave! I've been going to Pure Form for about two months now. If you're looking for hands-on experience with coaches who emphasize good form and small, intimate group classes, this is the place. TRAINING: I've taken both Michael's and Jacklyn's classes - they both have different styles of encouragement and training but the daily workout itself is the same. The main driving point with Pure Form is that they are all about having good form and making sure you are safe from injury so that you only have to focus on pushing yourself through the 45-minute workouts. The normal training schedule is MW Strength, T/Thur Core/Cardio, Friday, Form (Seems like all out at the end of the week - Mondays are usually easiest!) - but the workouts do change every month! I also like that the workouts are fairly consistent for a whole month so you can learn the movements and improve on form/increase weights! FACILITY: The facility is large and spacious, there are TRX suspensions, medicine balls, sandbags, dumbbells, and resistance bands of varying sizes available. I've been able to grab the exact weights I want for every workout too, so they have plenty of options. The one thing that I would ding on is that you can only use the facility for training during the group classes at the moment, which are held hourly between 5-8 AM and 5-7 PM respectively! PRICE: If you visit their website for a free trial, you can see that they're pretty transparent on pricing, another plus in my book! They are pricey though. Yearly packages start at $1400 and monthly prices are around $119 (as of June 2021, this may be updated in the future obviously!). A single class is $15 and a 20 class pass is $250. (12.50) However, for this area, the pricing is very reasonable, most other gyms in Midtown and West Sac all range from $150-200 monthly and the quality of instruction here is excellent. Tips: They also do student and military discounts, just ask! Go for the free trial to see if you like the workout before you commit!

What they don't have in corporate gyms they make up for creative exercises. They have TRX, Bootcamps, personal training, and Kickboxing classes. I attended a few football parties and Halloween parties they threw pre-lockdown. It doesn't feel so "bro" gym here--everyone was welcomed regardless of fitness level. They allow pets to hang out while you work out which is a plus. Jose, the owner has his own dog that's there everyday and it's nice to see her. It is a big warehouse building that has three bay doors so they're able to remain open during lockdown. They moved some workouts outside for more space. Jose is nice and does personal training. I always enjoy doing boxing as a personal session. Jose is very accommodating. It's a great gym to belong. Call and check for any new member openings. Right now, it's limited but they have a waiting list. They also follow and practice pandemic guidelines to keep members safe.
