Toby was an excellent bartender/waiter. He has a wealth of knowledge about the beer choices. Highly recommend. Nice, clean & good prices.

Beer selection is a joke. Food is subpar. Service is horrid. Not sure how this place stays open.

We started with steak bites and crab, stuffed mushrooms. Pretty good. Salads were good too. Great dressing. Entrées, we had the halibut, New York strip, and filet. All were good but not exceptional. My gold standard for flavor and seasoning is what Eddie V's does. This was not there. The ice cream sundae we had for dessert was great! Great service, new school steakhouse vibe. Overall, pretty good. I will give it another try for sure.!

The steak was cooked to perfection. The crab cake was okay and the potatoes were nothing to write home about. My meal also came with a side salad that was very good as I liked the addition of shredded beets! He ordered seafood linguine and the seafood was so yummy. The linguine itself was just mediocre. He also upgraded to the lobster bisque and it was good but definitely didn't taste homemade. We had eaten so much we didn't have room for dessert. The service was good, our server was kind and friendly and checked back a few times. The server assistants were absolutely amazing with keeping waters full and plates cleared. I don't like sitting at the tables here so when I made the reservation I requested a booth. We arrived and they took us to a table. I again asked for a booth and luckily there was something available. The booths here offer warmth and comfort while the table seats are cold and unpleasant. Overall a nice visit and enjoyable evening.

Such a great supper club!!! Wish I could give 4.5 stars…read more We made a reservation for NYE. They were very accommodating. They let us know right away the credit card machine was down but they'd reimburse us the ATM fee. We sat at the bar and ordered a drink for about 10 mins so they could get our table ready. Upon being seated we were greeted and told the specials. We ordered a special thinking it was an appetizer. They made the exception for us and turned it into an appetizer! And thank goodness, one of the best appetizers I've ever had. The scallops were buttery and cheesy. A combo I wouldn't have thought of. The scallops were perfect and not rubbery. We ordered steaks which come with soup AND salad AND bread AND a potato. I've seen other reviews where they get a relish tray. We did not, but maybe because it was NYE? Everything was incredibly fresh and tasty. We were so full by the time our meal came. The service was top notch, the ambiance was what you'd expect for a supper club. The only thing we felt didn't hit the mark were the drinks. The wine menu is sub par and the cocktail menu is fruity beach drinks?? Otherwise everything was fabulous and I definitely recommend the NY strip steak with the cheesy potato's!! Will be eating here again.

This is a nice place with good service just north of the Illinois State Line in Wisconsin…read more Ambiance wise, you have "old steakhouse" vibes galore, but it stops there. The wine list is fair - they have some good wines at good price points. We selected a J Lohr Cabernet. The first thing served was their bread basket. It had two dinner rolls and two cinnamon rolls along with breadsticks. Quite good! My wife ordered their steak and 3 fried shrimp dinner. The waitress noted they got coconut shrimp, and provided a nice orange sauce with them, as well as the shrimp sauce. The steak was served with Au Jus/ I went for their 10 ounce Filet Mignon. Both of us selected a baked potato, and paid an upcharge for a cup of their baked French Onion Soup. The Baked French Onion soup threaded the needle between "too scalding hot to eat" and "not cooked enough to be hot" perfectly. The cheese and crouton over the top were PERFECT, the soup temperature was hot but not SCORCH your MOUTH hot - it was perfect! The steaks - well, not so good. We both ordered our steaks "medium rare" which is a warm red center. The best way to describe the steaks was just past rare, and not medium rare. Send them back? No, we don't do that. The baked potatoes were perfectly executed, cooked properly and were just great. The steaks were served on a bed of mushrooms (which I ate before I remembered the camera has to eat FIRST, sorry). For the filet, it wasn't as tender as I would have hoped for at the price point. They will also custom cut a filet or any cut of steak to your weight, shooting for 4 ounce increments, which is reasonable. Service was very good, the water glasses stayed filled, although we had to fill our own wine glasses. Dessert was Turtle Cheese Cake, which is a specialty of the location. It was quite good. The restaurant was comfortable - we ate with our coats off, and were near a door. The view out the back is quite enchanting. This place is worth a visit!

The main sign on the pole has definitely seen better days, and the place as a whole feels a bit run down. As you walk in, be careful of the trip hazard at the entrance--it's a bit uneven. It's a little "divey," but don't let that be a dealbreaker. It's just an observation, a reminder not to judge a book by its cover. Note to management: Some minor fixes could give it a little more curb appeal. Stepping inside, you'll see the main dining room and an old buffet area that I assume hasn't been used since COVID. It's all a bit dated, but clean and functional. They serve breakfast all day and have a full lunch and dinner menu as well. Even though it was a relatively busy Sunday morning, we were greeted and seated quickly and didn't have to wait long for our initial service. Almost before I could take a sip of my no-frills, bottomless cup of $3 coffee, our giant portions of breakfast arrived. It was an omelette kind of day for us. We placed a special order for my dad (he's got his usual), I got the Denver Omelette ($14) with jalapeños, and my stepmom ordered the Meat Eaters Omelette ($15). They opted for toast, and I got the pancakes, which were a meal in themselves. While the prices have increased significantly since my first visit, the large portions are big enough to share or take half home, which is exactly what we did. We were a little ignored and never asked if everything was as expected. We did, however, get coffee refills and eventually received the bill and some to-go boxes. Another note to management: The bell that incessantly rings every time someone comes or goes needs to go! By the time we left, I was anxious and extremely tired of the bell. I feel sorry for the employees who have to listen to that all day long! Overall, this place does a good and honest business. Aside from the bell and the slight dip in attention, we enjoyed our meal.
