Food was good, but service is terrible. Asked two times for ranch for my chicken wings never got the ranch until I had two chicken wings left, but main complaint was the server going off on me in front of the group of people I was eating with. Our server was with the table behind us and I put my hand on the servers arm while he was with another customer and said "Excuse me please stop by our table when you are done with this table" When the server came to our table he told me that I was rude for interrupting him with the customers behind our table. Then he continued on about how he did not like rude people and how he hates that people are interrupting. Maybe he should NOT be in customer service since this is not how to treat customers. We recently visited Thirsty Badger for a late night snack and drink. We were pleasantly surprised. The service was very quick and the bar tender was attentive. They have a HUGE selection of bottled and draft beer. The best part is that they actually have a beer menu to help select the type of beer you would like. Our bar tender was also very knowledgeable about the types of beer and made good suggestions. There are some vegetarian options on the menu including a veg wrap. We tried the Mucho Nachoes with/out the meat. Overall the small size for $5 was a perfect appetizer for two people. We will definitely be back and as for a late night place to eat in Beloit, it is WAY better choice than going to AppleBee's read more

Not the best meal I have had at the Badger. My lettuce in my salad was brown, my drink tasted watered down and I received half the portion of fries than I did in the past. Also their menu reads their burgers are "never frozen" yet the server tells me they come off the truck frozen. This might be a bit biased since I only go once a week but I have been going to T.B. since late 2013 and have found it to be a very pleasant experience. The people that work there are actually very friendly and place has been remodeled quite nicely. No I don't know how it is on their busier nights but I nomally go on late Monday evenings and enjoy killing some time here while I have a few beers. I have not had their food just yet but it I will post an updated review when I do so far from what I've seen it does seem like your typical bar food but it smells great. From what I've heard from some of the locals in the area this is one of the "safer" bars where you don't have to worry about fights breaking out. read more

Told husband some where we havent been... so... Waitress was nice for her first night she tried. Drinks took 20 mins. And were awful how do you mess up a margarita on the rocks? "Great place to throw a party!!" We had a wonderful experience for a 50th Birthday party. We had about 100 people. They catered the food. Wasn't to thrilled to have to purchase the food from them. It all worked out perfect. I had a list of food to choose from served buffet style. The food was great. We had so much help from the wait staff. Helped put up decorations, and made sure everything was going smooth. Always ready to bring drinks to everyone. Leftover food was boxed up at the end of the night. The bartenders were awesome. Just left. Had to get out of the rain. Sat at the bar. Lots of beers on draft. Got my beer, ordered my food and waited for the Monday night BINGO to start. Game started at 7pm. Interestingly, I was seated next to the owner of the place. Great guy lots of personality, and listened to me when I spoke to him. Very enjoyable way to get out of the rain. Wings were very good and had to use 4-5 napkins while I ate them. Didn't win at BINGO had to get back on the road. Demographic is 40-65 with a few young folks in the mix. They must not get food orders often. I ordered a 4 piece broasted chicken dinner. I got 4 wings that looked like they were battered and fried. Not 4 pieces of broasted cicken, 4 wings! This is a new place in town, open less than a month. I have been twice already. The menu is terrific... now if they can just get a terrific cook, it will be wonderful. I gave it 3 stars because they are new. If the service is still the same in a month to 6 weeks, I will change this to 2 stars or less! The wait time for service is incredibly long. On Saturday I suggested to my husband, let's give it a try, something new. When we got there we were the only people seated at the bar, there was no one in the dining room, one other table in the bar area had 4 guys drinking beer. We ordered exactly the same thing, on my recommendation, the Thirsty Badger burger. Havarti cheese, Canadian bacon, lettuce, tomato and mustard. We asked for the burgers med-rare. After waiting almost 45 minutes (really? for 2 burgers!) they were much more to the med-well side of things. OK, again I'm chocking it up to new place, new cooks, new menu... give them some wiggle room. Both the lunch with my coworkers and lunch with my husband, I ordered the onion rings. My best guess, their oil is set far too low causing them to have to increase the cooking time only to soak up more oil and be really greasy. Also, for seemingly the first lunch order placed on a Saturday, why did my onion rings taste like they were hours old???? We went for lunch at 11:30am. I already have plans on going back... Sept 5th, we are having an after work thing and heading there. We all have great hopes because the place is great inside. I truly hope the food/service gets to the caliber of the bar area, the televisions, the menu choices, the dining room seating... This place has great potential! I ordered a reuben and waffle fries. They have Buzztime Trivia so I grabbed a playmaker and started a game. The food came out lickity split, first surprise!! The waffle fries were fresh, hot, delicious, second surprise! The reuben was really good, meat tender, bread fresh, lots of Russian dressing, third surprise! Excellent. Happy with the improvements to service and food. We are going back again as a group from work next week. They are opening the grill just for us on Wednesday night. If that goes well, I'll be back to maybe increase this to 5 stars. But I think this will be a favorite watering hole in town, yay! read more

Ok, so the wife and I went to this place for the first time on a Saturday night. It was around 5 pm. Two girls working the hostess station busy looking over their phones so we took to the bar, who what a mistake, bar tender too busy shooting the breeze with the local crowd. so we waited out turn, in comes another couple they sit at the bar and are quickly served, by a second bar tender. She looks at us and said "be with you in a sec honey" she spent another 5min shooting the breeze. So we got up and left the place. a great 0verwhelming huge sports bar in Beloit as the interior clearly was a type of luxury grill in its previous history. The Thirsty badger has acquired the grill and great space with plenty of tables a seating to watch sports and this is one of the better way off bars in the area. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. It was dead; literally not even half the tables full on a Friday night. One draft beer, and two mixed drinks alone took about 8 minutes. Never got water even after two of us asking. Food took over an hour to get, and our appetizer took 45 minutes. Food was absolutely awful. Not worth a single cent to be honest. Our server was a nice young girl, but overall it was slow and we rarely got checked on. I would say from a pleasant standpoint, she was a 5. From a service standpoint, not so much. Don't eat here!!!! It wasn't busy on a Friday night and that should have been a bad sign. We were passing through town and thought we would give it a chance. The server seemed confused about our drink order (ordering Old Fashions in WI should not be difficult) but they were served promptly. The chicken sandwich and beef sandwich were nothing special and although he asked if I wanted my fries well done, they came out soggy. We did not see the server throughout our entire meal although we needed more condiments and drink refills. He only came back to drop our check off and didn't even ask if we needed anything else. Stopped in for packer game. Free jello shots after a packer score. Had shredded beef Nachos and Spotted Cow tap. Tap was reasonably priced as were the nachos. Shredded beef was not as good as ground beef. Rather flavorless beef. They have a built in public charcoal grill. Some creative special on packers gameday might include some sort of tailgate something (hint hint). Seems a waste of space otherwise. A lot of potential. Nice friendly atmosohere. I come here every week. I bring friends from out of town, and my partner and I have always been treated very well and the food and service have been awesome... But then last weekend I brought my best friend and we were treated like crap from a bartender. Her name is Greta I believe. Then last night, my partner came to eat and we sat at the bar again.. Big mistake. Our normal servers came over and said hi to us and were awesome as ever, but the bartenders rarely checked on us and we ordered our food and never got it. The same thing happened to a couple across from us. We left. The heartbreaking thing is that we spend a good deal of money here on our friends and the food is amazing. We also take care of a servers incredibly well with tips. The owner needs to take a hard look at his bar staff. Greta needs to go, especially if she was repeatedly calling a regular customer a "bitch" the entire time we were there. It wasn't even busy but still pay attention to your customers. WOW! We just ate at the Thirsty Badger for the second time. The first time we went for lunch... Good burgers and fries. Tonight we went for our "Date Night"...... We both had the Ribeye Steak.... We chose to grill it ourselves like at "Prime Quarter".... the steaks were very tender! and, well over the 14 oz. listed on the menu. The salad served is HUGE.... and with the baked potato & grilled texas toast.... It's a meal that you half to take half of it home! We've been to Thirsty Badger twice now and couldn't ask for better food, better service, or better atmosphere. The first time we went was a Sunday - they had some sort of raffle going on - maybe a meat raffle - anyway, we were just there for a drink & had jalapeño poppers and it was all awesome. We went back just a week ago or so after work for dinner & ate in the dining room. EXCELLENT service by a young guy who knew his beers - they have TONS and we were asking about them. I visited the Thirsty Badger today for the first time today. It was shortly after 2PM on a Sat. I used to live in the area, and frequented this place many times in the past while it had different owners & names. I had time for a couple beers, so I thought I'd stop in to check out this place. All started well, and I was greeted by the staff. The female manager behind the bar welcomed me to sit down by her to visit. However, she kept cleaning and running back and forth. She eventually took my drink order, but did not offer me a menu. I tried to engage in some conversation about the bar asking how long they were opened, but I just got a quick response. I noticed others that sat at the bar were offered menus and conversation. They must have been local or regulars. She then took a tray of plates and dinnerware to the back room, and no one was behind the bar for 5-10 minutes. An older gentleman did come behind the bar at one point during this time to make a drink for someone, but he did not acknowledge anyone else or even say "Hi" to me after making eye contact. I'm not sure if he was an employee or an owner since his attire or his actions did not indicate any affiliation. Anyway, the female manager finally returned to the bar, and asked if I needed another drink. I reluctantly got another, and asked if they served food. She handed me a menu and then poured a drink for someone else at the bar. They got a Korbel & Coke, and she was very generous with her pour. Perhaps another regular? A definite over pour. I guess I ordered the wrong drink. After the manager returned to me, she asked for my food order, but I told her I decided to pass. She later came back to take my money for my drink, but she over charged me, not realizing she already took payment for my first drink. When I pointed out her error, she quickly returned my money, but offered no apology. No big deal, but not very friendly or courteous. The entire time I sat at the bar, which was about 45 minutes, dirty glasses and dirty food plates were in close proximity. Another thing that I noticed was that the servers were eating their lunch or snacking on food, while they stood along a short wall that divides the entry way and their big grill area. To me, this seemed a bit tacky and unprofessional for their servers to be eating there. I can not speak of the food because I did not order any. However, I did notice that the person at the bar that ordered a burger seemed to get his food fairly quick. To me, I think their customer service could be improved. My first visit to this place did not give me many reasons to return. These details were just a summary of my experience & observations from my first visit here.
