My wife and I are seniors and have never written a poor review. However be aware. We took our 2017 Tacoma to Thirsty Cars and the owner said a $75.00 butter wax was all the truck needed. I agreed. After keeping the truck all day the owner called towards the end of the day and said that in order to get the water marks off the truck need to be stripped and a ceramic coating was needed $250.00. When we picked the truck up it was dark, when we looked at it the following morning you could tell no work had been done. When we returned to talk to the owner, she had her husband talk to us. The owners husband was acting like a gangster, trying to intimidate us and said there is nothing they can do. We are considering suing these people. Be aware. read more

Paid $125 plus tip only to come home to be disappointed. He said he was gonna do "butter wax" but there were water spots everywhere. How does that happen? The interior still had trash on the ground. Streak marks over the front windshield, that's super fun to look at when driving. The displays still very dusty. Under the rear spoiler (top of the rear window) did not even get touched. Very disappointed. For $125 i would expect a mediocre to good job. This was not the case. Wheels looked nice and tires were shiny. Most windows looked good. Bruh... it's like watching your favorite uncle try run a TikTok business. He wen hire some kids -- good hearts, but no training, no system, no clue. It's like he gave them one hose, a bottle of Armor All, and said "Good luck, my braddahs." Last time I went, my car had just light grime -- we talking light kine dust and some fingerprints. Still came back looking like it went halfway through a wash. Missed spots, streaks, windows still foggy like Kula in the morning. And I not even one complainer! I've been loyal. Took more Ls with Thirsty Detailing than the UH football team. Still tipped fat every time. All I asked was: "Eh, can wipe down the obvious stuff?" Still got back junk kine attitude and half-finished job. Meanwhile, my wife took her Yota tMcKinley -- $50 with tip -- came back looking cleaner than the Queen's hospital lobby. Average review for an average detail. Dropped off my car for a mini detail inside and out. Upon dropping it off the employee looked the car over and said it's pretty clean and I explained yes I keep my cars in good condition but I was selling it today so I just wanted a detailer to go through it just to put the finishing touches on it before the sale. Got the car back and it was an average detail in my opinion. There was some adhesive residue on one of the windows from the for sale sign and they didn't take care of it (-1 ). According to the description of the mini detail it includes windows inside and out so not sure why it wasn't addressed. They said it was really sticky and I said I'm sure you have adhesive remover here but apparently they do not so I went back home to grab some remover and it was done in less than a minute. Tire dressing was also spotty (-1 ), not ideal for a sale but hence the average review. Aside from these issues the rest of the car looked good. Not sure if I'll be back. read more

I booked a mini detail at 10am. At 9:45am, they messaged me saying that they're running late and they'll get there at 10:30. They arrive at 10:45 without apologizing. It's fine to run late once in a while but an apology would've been appreciated. They did a good job cleaning the inside of my car but could've done better on the outside. They totally missed the parts under the doors all the way around my car. It's pretty obvious because my car is white. This is probably my 6th time going to them and so i'm really disappointed because they've done a great job the other times. read more

I started getting my car detailed with thirsty cars since they were running their operations out of the Safeway shopping center in Hawaii Kai. I haven't detailed my car in a while but decided it was finally time to get my car cleaned since my driveway is used for target practice by the birds, tree sap, etc. (They're now located in the Kalama Valley shopping center, btw) I booked with Hazel and brought my car in the very next day. She was super nice and helpful when I inquired about my car. On the day of my appointment, I dropped my car off at 11 am and picked up at 6. Everyone was very nice and thorough. They did a butterwax on my car, a mini detail inside, and they sanded off my headlights, emblem, and even my monitor inside the vehicle as it was peeling from sun damage. I wish I took photos before the detail so I could show you the before and after but I absolutely love how it turned out. They went above and beyond to make sure they didn't leave anything out when detailing my car. It was definitely worth the money we paid to get it detailed. I went to this place because my coworker recommended it and what a mistake!!!! First of all the location is two tents next to a rundown delivery truck . The service I got was the deep interior and mini exterior wash package and dropped my car off at 830am. They were nice and took it in even thought they open at 9am. Tell me why I picked my car up at 445pm. They originally told me it would be done at 1pm. So I went early with my other half and watched them work on 2 other cars not touching my car at all. It was now 230 pm and I called them about my car and why it was taking so long . They said two employees had emergencies and had to leave and that my car would be done by 430. I come back at 430 and they are still doing the windows, and finally at 445 they are done. I checked over my car and had them spot fix some things I saw immediately. To add to my worse detail experience, they took out a rubber cover for my cup holders and never put it back in I called the company and they said they would get back to me and I'm still waiting. If you threw it away just own up to it but just like they look on the outside they are sketchy AF. This place sucks go to somewhere else read more

However, this summer my born and raised Hawaii Kai son got a job there to learn a skill and develop a work ethic. Everything was good until my boy went back to school and the owner didn't pay him for his last two weeks of work. Lui owes him over $900. I usually clean my own car at home but since I didn't have time because of the holiday and work, I went to try this local own company to see what the hypes about. For $15 they will wash and wax the car by hand which is a good price! My appointment was at 12:30 but actually came 30 minutes early and they took my car right away. There'a one place I go once a year and that's Thirsty Cars. I try to do a good detail after a year of snacks, sand, dirt and whatever else gets trapped in the car from the kids. I wanted to do a before pic of my car without the car seats but so shame! The guys (and girls) at Thirsty Cars made my car feel like brand new. Wow! Just picked up my Mercedes Sprinter from Thirsty Cars. It would be generous to say it was black when I dropped it off -- more of a matte gray with black undertones -- but when I picked it up it was black as black and looked wet, no joke. James, Frankie, and Angel (and their four-legged sidekick Baby) at the Honolulu location knocked it out of the park. They offer various packages to address a wide variety of situations and they worked with me to create a package for this special case. The price was among the best I was quoted, the communications were nearly instant, and the customer service was professional and pleasant. They did an amazing job with my car and really took the time to get out all the dust and dirt that had built up in our leaf. Although it took longer than expected (I think they took an extra half hour), I know that they were really working on cleaning and doing a good job. I got there a little early, but had trouble finding them. There's a banner in front of Safeway. But their actual location is on the side under a tent with a storage box by it and no signs. I had to ask a couple people nearby because when I called, they declined the call. So I texted and didn't get an answer until an hour later. I had a 9 AM appointment. I was there at 9 with no sign of them Edit: the owner made it a point to contact me after the appointment and after the review to tell me that when I asked if they'd be able to do what's quoted on their site as an hour in 90 minutes in the first slot of the day (meaning there are no backed up cars), I was being unreasonable. You should be able to confidently say you'll do a service on time if you're given 30 minutes over what you put on your site. If you can't, the time to say that is before the appointment. As far as "everybody" knowing they're behind Safeway, they are to the side in an unmarked tent. If you've never been there, you don't know what to look for. Had they texted back by 910, even 915, I would've come back. But the owner doesn't see a problem with not being there for scheduled appointments and then not bothering to return calls or texts about that appointment until almost an hour after the appointment time. read more

I used Thirsty Cars to detail my car for export to the mainland. I booked the regular detail on their website, noting the purpose was for vehicle export. They texted a day or two prior to the appointment and mentioned they offered a specific export detail service, but that they had not yet put it on their website. So, we changed our booking. Easy! I was a little early for my 1pm appointment, but no worries Nalu was there ready for me. I lived just around the corner from the location, so it was super convenient for me to be able to drop off the car and walk home. When I picked up the car, it was spotless! Nalu did an excellent job, exactly as advertised. I would later remember that I had accidentally left a dirty diaper in the back of the car -- it wasn't a super gross diaper or anything -- but many thanks to Nalu for not calling me out on my mistake. I also neglected to tip. For the diaper and for a lack of tip, if expected, my apologies! As a testament to their excellent work, after three weeks transiting from Hawaii, on a boat to California, and then on a truck to Alabama, the car was still spotless on arrival. There's even still tire shine and a beautiful shine from the wax. That's a hell of a good car wash right there. I highly recommend these guys! read more

Due to an unexpected early closing of escrow, I had to cancel a later appointment at a different place for a shipping detailing job for my car. Chelsa was able to get me into their busy schedule on the Sunday coming up. It was worth the drive from Honolulu. The place was easy to find, and the team was welcoming and friendly. I was given a timeline and when to expect my vehicle to be completely detailed. I left for a few hours and returned as they were finishing up. I brought my Lexus SUV for just a car wash. They sprayed an acid based solution on my painted rims and it burned the paint off. They did not tell me this when I went to pick it up. My husband noticed it right away. We sent them pictures to the manager Hazel who was working that day. They reluctantly offered us to have the wheels repainted and a rental car they would reimburse us. We declined the rental car, and saved them money. Had the rims repainted which took 3 days. It was the wrong color when we picked it up. So Thirsty cars offered a free Master Detail and a free Shipping detail as well. At our convenience. We told them we would probably do it during March or April before we move. This happened in December. They agreed. Well we just called to schedule it and we're getting the run around. Conveniently the manager is on "vacation". The owner who was agreeing previously is now saying we can offer you half off. I can't understand that kind of business that has no integrity. I had my car here for the $50 clean inside and basic wash outside, and the gentlemen told me I would be happy. The car was cleaned beyond expectations.
