I can't say enough good things about Shoe Smith in Willimantic…read more I originally purchased a pair of HOKA Challenger 7s after they took the time to evaluate my feet with their scanning equipment and listened carefully to my orthopedic history, including a knee replacement and an ankle fusion. Their recommendation was spot on. I wore those shoes on a full day walking all over New York City, and they were the most comfortable walking shoes I've ever owned. I was completely pain-free. Unfortunately, the shoes developed a manufacturing defect after only a week. I brought them back expecting an exchange for the same model. Instead, they stood behind the product and upgraded me to a pair of HOKA Bondi 9s at no additional cost. That level of customer service is becoming increasingly rare. They treated me with kindness, professionalism, and genuine concern for making sure I left with a shoe that was right for me. If you're thinking about buying shoes, skip the big-box stores and support this local business. The personalized fitting, expert advice, and outstanding service are worth every penny. They've earned a customer for life.

I've always been very satisfied with their repairs. They carry excellent shoes for every need…read more They also have many sales for people like me who are on a limited income. They are the only shoe repair business in the state that I am aware of and it reminds me of the past when shoes were of the best quality and we always brought our shoes and other leather goods to be repaired, not cheap shoes thrown out and have to buy another pair of much less quality. I would recommend them to anyone and especially to those with special foot needs.

Great variety of work and outdoor boots and boot accessories. I would consider it the place to go…read morefor work boots in the monadnock region. They have someone usually available as you xome in to help you find what you are looking for. Great value boots that last forever and wider than most other store bought boots for the greatest value, price and efficiency possible. Truly an asset to the community for the working class and for those who like to take in the outdoors.

When your feet are wider than they are long, a silver -haired handlebar mustached gentleman shoe…read moresalesman is a knight in shining armor. I had a plane to catch, so I breezed into the store (after taking a rainy photo for Yelp) and looked around for women's shoes. My initial scan showed me a handsome "older gent" (egads, maybe 55?) was leaning on his forearms against one of the shelves. The Marlboro Cowboy with a Sam Elliot on his upper lip, eyed me. (Inside, I thought, "hm, maybe he's wondering what a woman is doing in a store that sells workboots?") Then he said, "Can I help you with something?" And yes, yes, he could! He actually paid attention to what I said (black only, no copper rivets) and I chose two pairs of shoes in the space of four minutes ($59 and $89). When he moved around behind the cash register to ring me up, his colleagues (two other gents sans fancy facial hair) asked me, "How'd he do?" to which I responded with a shoulder shrug and a "meh" keeping in tradition with the reserve of New Hampshah. The gents smiled and mustache said, "they are trying to get rid of me because I'm too old." To this I replied, "they are just jealous because they can't grow a mustache like yours." (Heck, I'm a woman and I'm jealous!) Love the shoes. Love the stache. I'll be back next time I'm driving a pumpkin. And maybe... it'll be happily ever after.

This is a good shopping center with a wide variety of stores. It's separated into two major…read moresections. The Upper Section includes big box stores such as Target, Kohl's, Best Buy and Dick's, along with some smaller scale stores such as Nordstroms Rack, Michaels, and PetSmart. There are a couple of restaurants in the Upper Section, Chili's and TGI Fridays, two places I never visit. The Lower Section has more stores and a few restaurants including LongHorn Steakhouse, Red Robin and Panera Bread. There is a large Barnes and Noble and Blackstone Valley 14 Cinema de Lux. There is also a 110 Grill adjacent to the Cinema. The Cinema and the 110 Grill have their own parking lots. Two new restaurants are under construction in this section, The Yard House and Shake Shack. The Yard House is expected to have a standalone building, evident by the huge construction project taking up a large amount of parking in the Lower Section. During weekends and busy holidays, traffic police are out in force at the Shoppes, in part because there is only one way in and out of this sprawling shopping center. Traffic and parking can be an issue depending on where you want to park during peak periods.

One star rating for cops creating traffic nightmare & the ongoing construction for well over 1 year…read more The detour is ridiculous because of the construction, takes you way out of your way & never know if the road is open or not coming from Rt 20 or McCracken Rd. Northborough has more stores and no traffic problem because the police aren't involved in clogging up access.
