I had already filled out the forms online so that saved a lot of time. First, I had x-rays taken and cleaning done by Gina who was very friendly and competent. Then, Dr Espinoza who was also very polite and friendly did the check up and recommendations. The office is in a quieter area of Bayonne so there was no problem finding street parking being that I'm a resident. Make sure you have a resident pass. If you're visiting from another town I would suggest parking on Broadway (metered parking). I'll keep going to Bayonne Smiles for my regular check up and treatment and will update my review afterwards.

I have been a patient more than 10 years and love that he has the same staff he had when I started! Beverly is sweet and funny, and Maria treats you like family. Dr alter has Sunday hours in the early morning, and that's so convenient for kids who play sports. Dr alter is really gentle and caring and checks on your comfort throughout your procedure. I have had no issues with his work, which include 2 implants, bonding on my front teeth and 3 recent cavities. He also changed some old silver fillings to white at my request. My only negative is that sometimes street parking is tough, but there is a public lot behind the school about a block away.

Kathleen, the dental hygienist is very knowledgeable and helps you learn how to properly take care of your teeth and gums. She also gives the ABSOLUTE BEST teeth cleanings! She really takes her time and explains everything as she goes along. I have seen both Dr. Alter and Dr. Seleven. Both of them are amazing dentists. They keep you informed the whole way through and really listen to your concerns. They are very thorough and very caring. Also, this office is exceptionally clean. Their website (or ad) states they accept emergency visits and my insurance, yet they refused to treat him because they couldn't verify my insurance on the weekend. Instead of helping relieve his pain or offer a reasonable solution, they told me we'd have to pay $450-$600 out of pocket, with no guarantee of reimbursement. They showed no real concern for the urgency of husbands situation or the pain he was in. If you're in severe pain and expecting actual emergency care--as advertised--be warned. They seem more focused on upfront payments than helping patients.

And I want you to know that I am being very diplomatic and kind in this review. It is significant to note that virtually all of my dentists have each been with me for twenty year periods of time before they either retired, or I moved.
