The people here are mostly very friendly, although I have been warned that there are a few "poop zealots ", and by that they mean if you don't clean up after your dog immediately, you may be barred from this park! So far We have not encountered this , and I do clean up after my dog. That said, the park is clean, and well groomed. No running water, but each time we've been there, large jugs of fresh water are all around for your convenience. There is a beautiful area in the back with large shade trees, pavers and benches. This is a wonderful place to bring your dog!

Some people bring dogs that aren't friendly, which is against the rules, but they usually will leave shortly. Others are great.Our dogs love it to play ball, use the "obstacles" and play with other dogs. There isn't water or dishes, so bring your own. Generally clean.

There is basically 4 different areas in this park - a small dog area, 2 large dog areas and a short wooded path that you can walk on with your dog. Sometimes I've been here where they close half the larger dog area, I'm not sure why this is. In the parking lot, there is a port-a-john for us humans, and trash can/doggie bags for the pups. Everyone seems to be really responsible here with their dog which is a major benefit. Some cons: - can be muddy after rain - no trash cans or bags provided inside the park area, only before you enter the park - sometimes they close half the park (I don't know why this is?) - limited seating/benches for humans

One of these suckers hit my 10 pound shitzu in the back pretty hard and she was yelping in pain/fear! :(

The only issue is that some people show up with dogs who are not socialized and are aggressive and they do nothing when their dog is attacking others. I'm not sure how often they go, but some other dog owners mentioned that it has gotten worse. If you get there and it's empty take advantage of it. The best days are the sunny days when it's early morning or evening!

As for the 'park', maybe let people choose what size dogs get to assimilate with others, not the signs. Never cared for segregation, dog, or otherwise. Plus, the environment is depressing - if you like to hang out in the 'service area' of a farm / rural store. The ground surface is tough on running dogs' pads... Go get some cheap topsoil and through a few truckloads on top with the extra profit the store makes from the park users who don't know about "chewy.com". Drive the distance and go to Vernon off Rt. 94. Your dog will thank you for it - and you'll find it quite beautiful. West Milford Township should develop a REAL one - just don't follow Ringwood's lead where all the red-tape and crappy location makes for a useless non-used dog park - like this one was on my visit.

Both sides have water available for the dogs and a number of different obstacles for them to run around on off-leash and areas to drink, but also some random puddles. Owners have to keep an eye on their dogs, so even if they are social sometimes they can fight. Almost all the dogs I've met here have been pretty nice though. Lot of bugs at the edges, though, especially in the muddy areas, and I killed a tick I saw, too, so you have to be careful. Parking can get quite busy at peak times.

Today the park is a large athletic complex featuring 2 inline hockey rinks, a 2.5K cross country course. 2 sand vollyball courts, 1 artificial turf softball field, an 18 Hole Disc Golf Course, 4 artificial soccer fields. walking paths through meadows & wooded areas, a kickball field, a playground area designed for 5-12 year olds. The playground area has a lot of different apparatus, rubber ground cover and benches. Fully equiped reatrooms can be found in lot 4. Lastly, the park has a dog park. The dog park has a section for small dogs, 2 sections for large dogs, and short wooded area with a path. The dog park is completely fenced in, well maintained, clean and spacious. There are obstacle courses, as well. The drawback is the grass and dirt areas after wet weather. Additionally, there are no trash containers in the fenced in areas. Bring water for your dog

Fairly large with lots of options and plenty of equipment…read more Swings, slides, ramps, mechanical spinning toys, tables and benches, climbing apparatus, musical instruments, etc. The ground is nice and soft rubber, and there is ample space for parents and siblings including covered benches to protect from the sun. Add a parent I really appreciated that it wasn't too crowded on a Sunday morning and all of the children there were patient and well behaved. Since it's a bit further away we won't be there daily but will certainly make the 20 minute trip again!
