In a word to describe Thomas Edison Electric is Fantastic in every way possible. I tried calling three other companies both by phone & email and heard nothing. When I called Thomas Edison, a live person answered the phone, and they were at my home in two days because of my schedule not theirs. In this day and age this is unheard of. We had multiple things that needed to be fixed and Kyle our electrician walked around and completed his estimate of services. After he reviewed them with us and provided the quote which was very reasonable. He did make a recommendation that we weren't aware of, and we opted to go with what he recommended, and we are so pleased that we did. Their quality of work was by far was definitely 5 STARS from the moment they entered our home until the work was completed. The electrician was very professional, communicated with us with each task he completed and also laid down drop cloths & vacuumed when necessary. Behind the scenes the commutations from the time I scheduled until after the work was done was fabulous. We received an email to confirm the appointment and then the morning of the scheduled day we received a call to confirm the time Kyle would be arriving. Each person was kind, friendly and wanting to make sure things were going well along with updates on the timing of the electrician arriving and he was prompt with each visit. Thomas Edison will be the one and only electrical company we will ever use when necessary. I already added their name to our community list of preferred contractors and gave them a 5-star rating so I hope that maybe they will get some more business based on my comments. I've begun enhancing my iHome experience. So, I purchased the Ecobee smart thermostat. Unfortunately, I struggled with finding a company that was familiar with the installation of these products. I contacted Thomas Edison Electric and they returned my call within 15 minutes. They even offered me an appointment within 24 hours. I wasn't available, but was pleased to learn of this availability. I needed a Wednesday appointment and they were able to accommodate that as well! The communication was thorough and timely. I received updates the morning of, providing me with a more narrow window of arrival. Ed arrived promptly and was super pleasant. He completed a quick assessment and then provided me with an estimate. I love that the price was locked in prior to the work beginning. He not only installed my Ecobee system with little effort, he walked me through the set up and process and advised my of ideal locations for my sensors. Ed waited until my unit was successfully paired with my phone App and registered. Ed was able to replace an external wall lantern and connect a smart light bulb to it! Ed was respectful and informative. I was most impressed with him pulling out a mini vacuum to clean up the debris from drilling. I'm a neat freak and this was such a nice touch! My usual electrician was on vacation when I placed an emergency call due to total power loss (not MetEd related) Sat mid-afternoon. I called two other businesses who could not come until Mon. Thomas Edison Electric was my third call. Their rep stated someone would arrive between 4pm and 7pm and informed me of the dispatch fee. A second update let me know the electrician's name and arrival between 6pm and 7pm. He showed ~6:10pm. I explained what happened to Jason and he discovered water had seeped into the electric panel due to an external cracked seal above the meter. He also noted my grounding needed to be brought up to code to pass inspection and let me know the price to repair the problems. Jason said he'd need to get supplies & would return Sun between 8am-11am and asked if I'd be okay staying or wanted to stay with family. I stayed. A TEE service rep called Sun ~8am and said Jason would arrive between 9am-11am. He arrived within an hour and worked the rest of the morning and most of the afternoon making the repairs. Emergency calls of any kind are not a happy experience and unplanned expenses even more so. Thomas Edison Electric was there when other businesses weren't. Edison Electric and my electrician, Carlos, are spectacular. I experienced a problem with dimming and brightening lights when running appliances. My local power company ignored my requests for help. I called Edison and they dispatched an electrician immediately. Carlos arrived promptly and diagnosed the problem within ten minutes. He was working alone that day and the repair was a two-person job, which would have required a three day wait. Knowing my health issues and sensing my apprehension, Carlos took on the job alone. He had the repairs made within a couple hours. After testing appliances, a problem still remained. Carlos intervened and called my local power company directly on my behalf. He had me placed on their emergency priority list and they came out the next day to perform repairs. My home returned to normal within 48 hours. This was a potentially dangerous problem which might have taken weeks to resolve. The staff at Thomas Edison Electric demonstrated to be humanistic and caring when prioritizing my needs and the needs of my family. Steve was very attentive and understanding and validated my need to rectify an electric issue in the middle of the night that would have left my children and I subjected to the freezing cold temperatures due to no heat. Steve communicated with me continuously leading up to my scheduled time of service and even followed up with me to ensure that the service met my standards afterwards. The Electrician assigned to complete the job, Ed, was punctual, descriptive and honest in describing the work that needed to be done. He was also transparent when communicating the costs associated with a worse case scenario, which I really appreciated. From the moment I called the the company, the agent was frendly, actually listened, and spelled my name correctly (that never happens) and was reasuring. I then received a called from the office to confirm my appointment and all my details, shortly after. When the technicians arrived, they were super informative, answered all of my queations, made appropriate recommendations (did not try to offer things I did not need), and provided me with an estimate for the work. I decided to move dorward with the project and they did the work in less than 8 hours, and trust me, it was a LOT of work. The fact that the company, from the first call to the electricians finishing the project, told me what to expect at each stage and followed through accordingly, was amazing. I called Thomas Edison on 3/8 after an electrical situation involving some light fixtures with water damage. For my handyman, it was a shocking experience. Don't worry, he's ok. Thomas Edison answered my early morning call and were able to set up a next day appointment for me. The people I spoke to on the phone were very nice and stayed in touch when there was a possibility of moving my appointment up and then later let me know when it was not possible so I wasn't just sitting around waiting. On the day of my appointment, Frank showed up on time and had a wonderful personality that made me feel completely at ease. He checked what was needed and ran to get the parts and came right back and was done within a short period of time. Like before, they were super responsive and I got a call back from Steve the dispatcher within 10 minute to inform me that they had someone available to come out within the hour (and this was late at night). Steve kept me updated all along the way with ETA on the electrician. Leo showed up and I showed him the messy situation I was in. He inspected the area and quickly knew what he had to do to fix the wiring from the previous owner of this house. He drew up the plan, informed me what needed to be done, and finished all the work in about 20 minutes and everything was working great. The problem ocurred on Sunday, and it was great to find an electrician you can get 24/7. I didn't know if it was a serious problem so I was happy to be able to ask someone on a Sunday about the problem and if it had to be fixed immediately or could wait a day or two to be fixed. The electrician who came to check things out was very friendly and polite. He narrowed down the problem and explained exactly what needed to be done and what the cost would be. I called on a Monday evening, and the home office representative immediately contacted a local branch who phoned me soon after I got off the phone with home office to set up an appointment. They were very flexible with scheduling and surpassed my expectations. I was kept updated, through numerous phone calls from what I assume was a supervisor or dispatcher, concerning the electrician's arrival time. We needed an electrician due to complicated wiring issues owing to how the electric was originally installed in 1979. We expected this would be a long process and would cost more than we could possibly afford. When our electrician Charles arrived he immediately got to work figuring out the different problems we were dealing with, prepared estimates for each different task for us, and once we agreed to get the work done, it was completed in one day for much less than we expected. He explained to us what he needed to do, what we could expect, and what the benefits/limitations would be of various options. Due to a severe wind storm, a tree took down our electric wires and utility pole on our property. Thomas Edison was very responsive. They had a truck our here within 3 hours and kept us updated while we waited. The work could not be done that evening, so they secured the wires and made sure we had electric. The next day, they quoted us the work that needed to be completed, and within 3 hours a pole was installed on our property. A few hours later, the wires were rerun onto the pole and to the house. Ken did a great job! Everything looks great, and the site was spotless when he left. We would definitely recommend them and use the again in the future. read more

We were very impressed with Thomas Edison Electric. We hired them to fix a couple of dimmer lights and hang a chandelier. The customer service provided was top notch, from the first contact over the phone to the technician that made our repair. Everyone we dealt with was professional and took the time answer all of our questions. Leo, our technician, did a great job. During the install of our dining room chandelier he was careful to check with us to be sure the light was hung at the correct height. We had several questions about payment. Leo answered all of them. Finished job last week- I called them 3 days later because my granite installers said I had the wrong outlet. Apparently I had not given the electrician the correct information about what I needed. Colin came back out, literally two days later, showed me the options of the different plugs I needed, and I picked the one I thought would look best. I thought the whole process would be a pain in the butt but he made it simple and quick- in and out in 30 minutes!
