Wonderful company to address your electrical needs. We had a ductless AC system installed and when the installer was connecting to our breaker box he noticed water coming into the box. Water and electric don't mix! We noticed the cable attached to the outside of the house had deteriorated due to sun/weather, so it's the homeowner's responsibility. :( We called Thomas Edison Electric approx. 4:30-5 pm, electricians were dispatched, they made the commitment to be at our home by 7:45 pm, they were here by 7:30 pm! Casing for outside cable coming into the house and Main breaker replaced, as well as all breakers removed and cleaned. Their work was completed by 9:15 pm, within 30 minutes later we were hit with another thunderstorm and heavy rain; we are so glad we contacted Thomas Edison Electric! From the moment I called the hotline I got immediate and courteous service from Steve who helped me schedule an appointment to fit my schedule. When my appointment time came (4hr window), the electrician (Carlos) and his assistant showed up promptly on time and even called to give me a heads up a few minutes prior to arriving. We received excellent service from the first telephone call to schedule our electrical problem. Steve was very helpful to schedule the technician to come out for service. Dimetry arrived at the time Steve indicated he would be there and once we agreed to the service he was able to trouble shoot the problem and resolve the issue in less than 30 minutes. He update the wiring to the current code and capped off the lines to my satisfaction. He was very cordial and efficient. As all things are this was an emergency on a Thursday evening. Local contractors could only commit to a Monday appointment. Having just taken care of a water crisis of 10 days (well) problem this did not make me nor my wife happy. Called Ben Franklin and Steve was able to guarantee a service call the next day. The technician, Patrick was delayed by a tire blowout on his way and I immediately got a phone call with the new arrival time. Our tech, Eli, was right on time. He professionally prepared an estimate and went over every detail to align expectations. It cost more than I had thought, but there was confined space and other obstacles. (We needed an additional 220 volt receptacle in the kitchen.) Great service and expert work. Had them out to check out a potential breaker issue, which after some investigation on their part turned out to be an electric company service line issue. Before leaving they walked me through the correct terminology to use when describing the issue to PECO. Stay away.... No one to contact if there is a problem...they list 2536 Eastern Blvd as their address but according to google earth they are not there. According to their website, they have no licensed electricians in york county. Check out the consumer complaints reported on "3 on your side" out of Philly. read more
