I was disappointed with my experience contacting Ranck. I called to inquire about wet line disconnect services for a commercial property that is scheduled for demolition. Since this service appears to be listed on their website, I simply asked whether they perform that type of work. The representative immediately told me "no." When I mentioned that their website suggests otherwise and asked if she could verify with someone, she placed me on hold and returned asking for my name, company, and whether I was a third party. I explained that before providing all of my information, I just wanted confirmation that Ranck actually performs the service. Instead of answering the question, she insisted the answer was contingent on those details. I asked whether those questions had any bearing on whether the company offers the service at all, and she again stated that the answer depended on who I was. As someone calling about what could have been a significant commercial project, I found the interaction frustrating and unwelcoming. A simple, "Let me check and confirm whether we offer that service," would have gone a long way. I ended up thanking her for her time and chose to not pursue the conversation any further the whole experience was just very distasteful. read more

While I was at work this Saturday past, our downstairs toilet began vomiting sewage. My son called me to ask who to call. I told him Ranck and he called me back a few hours later to tell me how wonderful they were. we are long-term customers with a service contract. And I'm sitting here this weekend with no service available for a heat pump where the indoor unit has quit. Too busy to get to us. Advice? Use space heaters. I could not be more disappointed. We've stuck with them through thick and thin and through a period of their own business problems. We purchased an Aquasana Water softener and whole house Treatment filter system out of Texas. Ranck came in at $4,000 lower than the competition and $9,000 below the guide on the build board who waves at you. We were quite happy with the install and all the other work they did. They explained why we did not have to spend $6,000 on a tank less hot water system due to the structure of the dwelling and the number of residents in the dwelling. We wanted to replace a toilet, my wife called Ranck. They came out in two days with what my wife wanted. A toilet with more 'WHOOSH!' but that used less water. They had what we needed. The "Avalanche 21" in white. The technician Ben was prompt, courteous, friendly, polite, professional ... great guy. And there was no 'upgrade' talk. He quickly and methodically put it in, answered all our questions about its water usage, how to rid or at least lessen calcium build up, what services his company offers etc. And he was very cool when our dog took something of his and started chewing on it. Now Ben alone is worth the five stars. I could comment on the price, but to be honest and fair, we try not to have plumbers come out, so we're not sure if we paid the going rate or not. But I will say I think the price was right for quality. We will use Ranck now for any future plumbing needs. read more

Have been a customer of Ranck/ Triangle for 20 yrs. have contracted wifh one of the entities for all of that time. Stuck with Ranck througH the WoGo mess and continued to business with them. I have prepaid yrly ($336) for a service contract that whole time. This weekend the fan motor went out on the indoor unit so I have no heat at all. WithoUt the blower even the backup heat doesn't work. Because I didn't choose Ranck as the company to replace my unit when I recently went out for bids they have basically told me(while still under a valid service contract) to renege on my recent agreement with another company or pay $821 for a new fan, without one these two happening they would not even consider renting temporary space heaters. BTW I brought my wife who has stage IV cancer home from the hospital today while the service manager was trying to strong arm me into a new deal. I went and purchased my own heaters, borrowed some from famIly and will manage until my new company can replace my system. These people were aware of our situation, weren't even willing to rent heaters to me because they said I might not return them. STAY AWAY, their prices are high for everything service is at least $100 higher than others, qoute for a new system was 10% higher than the next bidder and they are not good people at heart. read more

I recently moved to Lancaster city. This is who my neighbors recommended...and I'm so glad I went with them! I have a house that is over 100 yrs old. It has old radiators. Not everyone knows how to service these, so when I called up, I was sure to say exactly what kind of problems I was having and what kind of system I had (I've had old homes before). They sent over Gary - who was not only amazing at what he did, but showed me how things worked and what was going wrong. After acquiring this house in cooler weather, it had a laundry list of things that needed to be addressed in the heating, and one by one, in one visit - he fixed them all. He diagnosed problems quickly, fixed them quickly, and gave me options on some other things that I hadn't even considered. My regular handyman was unavailable, so I thought I would give Ranck Plumbing a call. I feel I was treated unfairly to be charged twice the cost many plumbers would bill. We were on Christmas vacation when we got the phone call no one wants to get: our neighbor was also out of town and another neighbor called them to get a hold of us. They had called the fire department after noticing excess emissions AND a loud shacking coming from the location of our heating system! Thankfully there was no fire and Ranck's were able to get there Christmas Eve morning to determine the issue. Our unit (not installed by them) had two bad components and the manufacturer was defunct as of over a year ago. After searching to try to find the parts (we had discussed this as a possible solution but were aware that it may have been the end for this system), Ranck's called and we were able to look at other options. After some time on the phone they presented a solution and would have an estimate by the day after Christmas. Due to an opening, they thought they could likely begin work the 27th. We were pleasantly surprised to get an early morning email on the 26th with the estimate AND notification that they could start on the de-install of our old system THAT DAY!!! As we traveled home, our system was removed. The next day, the new system was installed and this morning work wrapped up! The timely professionalism of this company will have me recommending them to all of our friends. They go above and beyond and are writing a letter to our insurance company describing the issue we had and the dangers as well. If you use any company for plumbing or heading in Lancaster, these folks should be the first ones you call. read more

This is the worst experience I ever had. Came out to clear a main sewer line. After spending time running an auger, it was determined that there was nothing they could do and said they could call another company to subcontract work to the next day. We called regarding our shower fixtures leaking water and inability to turn them off. When technician assessed the problem he said that the company that made our brand (Price-Pfister) was no longer in business and repair parts were no longer available; he also said it would cost $807 to replace with "name brand" fixtures. He then arranged for a sales rep to come the same day and he told us the same thing. NO LONGER IN BUSINESS he said. Cost to repair would be $807 but that a complete bathroom redo was in order at $4500-$6000. Turns out - all this was deceitful as the co. only sold their stock to another company and the product is still made under the name "Pfister". Website claims to be the largest mfg. of bathroom fixtures in the world. All new fixtures and all repair parts & accessories available at Lowes & Home Depot in large quantities and all product and parts have been identical for 50+ years. Our son-in-law on the same street (Darby Lane) experienced the same identical treatment. Cost to repair would be $807. Looks like a scam company policy to quote that cost to anyone who needs a repair even before the situation is assessed. We just bought the parts from Lowes (incl seat wrench) for $46 and did the replacement ourselves in 45 minutes using a "You Tube" video as a guide. Had my boiler leak fixed and was billed 6 hrs when my camera showed rank technicians in the house for 3.5 hrs. 1/2 an hr of that was them standing outside. 840$ bill .
