The rude ass old white lady working here followed us as soon as we got into the Disney gallery and when we were the only ones in the store at the time. We could literally hear her hurried foot steps coming towards us as soon as the other customers walked out (who were white). She also wasn't following them around the store. We did feel that this was discriminatory behavior and another similar yelp review proves it. It wasn't surprising to us since this had happened to us multiple times throughout the day in various shops around the area. Racism and discrimination seem to be a common theme in Solvang which is insane that there's still people like this. Must be the oldies with the same mindset that haven't died out yet. Oh and if the lady working here is so concerned with photography inside the gallery, you must not be doing your job correctly since pictures still ended up here on yelp meaning there were photos taken inside the gallery. Next time you want to tell a patron the rules of the store make sure customers of other races are being told the same, and be polite about it. Also there's a difference between taking photos and taking a video of me and my family reacting to the art. Not everyone steals someone else's artwork just because they recorded inside the gallery. Even if we were to purchase something, your condescending tone and you following us the way you did into the Disney gallery made us walk right out. And given what I've heard about Thomas Kinkade recently, I have no interest in purchasing his work. If you do choose to visit here - do NOT have your phone out for any reason unless you want to be stalked and scolded like a child by the raggedy old lady working here. read more

This place was FANTASTIC!!! One of the few Thomas Kinkade galleries left. It's extremely well stocked and beautifully lit. A gorgeous shop with a nice owner who simply is quietly there while you peruse. He welcomed us, offered to answer any questions and then let us alone to enjoy the beauty. I even had my kids with me, and he didn't make us uncomfortable or unwelcome. I can't honestly understand the negative reviews. This shop is a rare treasure, and it was the highlight of our day in Solvang. read more

This place is gorgeous! I absolutely loved walking around in here and soaking up the art. The lady at the front desk was friendly and kind.

This year on my annual trip I walked to the gallery only to see that it wasn't on Mission Street anymore. So I turned to yelp and saw they had moved a block behind. Meltdown diverted! As soon as I walked in Sales Associate Sharla greeted me and directed me to the Disney gallery as that is my favorite. Since I cannot afford an actual size print I buy the postcards and put them in frames. This time around I bought 2 of the night lights which are just as beautiful as the prints. My point for this review? Well stop by if you are in Solvang, there is something for every budget and it's worth checking out the beautiful paintings inside this gallery. Hopefully someday I'll be able to afford an actual painting but it definitely will be from here. read more

Why order prints from the QVC shopping network when you can pick up one on your trip to Solvang? People get the art that they deserve, and Kinkade gives it to them good and hard. read more

I came out years ago and I have always love the lighting that comes out of the paintings. They have a variety of nature, Disney, Marvel, and MLB paintings too. Jan, Danielle, Jim, and the rest of the team are great. Very friendly and want to make you happy with Thomas Kincade paintings. They can find anything. I have been a Thomas Kinkade fan for years. I was very excited to walk into one of his stores and admire so many of his beautiful pieces. While looking around, the women working there followed my sister and I around the store. Upon entering the Disney showroom she immediately followed us inside and stood over us, questioning if we needed assistance. We were very disappointed and saddened that we were racially profiled by her that we left. There were plenty of other people inside of the store who were white but we were the only ones followed and questioned. Definitely WON'T be returning. read more

My wife loves Thomas Kinkade and was disappointed to see his gallery was was no longer on the main street in Solvang. We were glad to find they had merely moved to a new location. We went inside and saw the Beauty and the Beast Fall in Love portrait. Suzanne assisted us. She was so pleasant and welcoming. She showed us the Disney Room which was my wife's favorite part of the gallery. We purchased the Beauty and the Beast portrait and the gallery shipped it to our house. It arrived on my wife's birthday! We are so pleased with Suzanne's excellent customer service and the follow up by Ann Smith. read more

Family and I went to Solvang today and it was amazing! The debbie downer of the shops was this Thomas Kinkade Gallery! The lady was so nice to the gentleman who walked in before my mother and I. When we followed in tow, she changed her attitude immediately. Did not greet us and looked my mother and I up and down. She was so rude and made us feel very uncomfortable to the point that my mother and I did not walk further in the gallery, we walked out. If she is the owner, shame on you, if you're just the greeter, shame on you! She had absolute horrible customer service and I was wondering WHY WAS THE GENTLEMAN BEFORE MY MOTHER AND I WAS TREATED WITH SO MUCH KINDNESS UNTIL SHE SAW US! NOT COOL in 2021! It was OBVIOUS SHE DID NOT like BROWN or BLACK PEOPLE by her treatment! Time to CHANGE MA'AM! I love Thomas Kinkade's art work, but I would NEVER recommend this store. You should NEVER treat customers in such a way! You should respect ALL your customers no matter what race they may be! I pray she finds peace in her heart to one day learn to treat people/customers with kindness and equal. My mother was very sad she could not see any of her favorite artist art work because of how rude this woman was upon entering the store. But we forgive her. read more

This was definitely the highlight of my trip to Solvang. I had bookmarked a few places and kept an eye out for the Thomas Kinkade Gallery. I had studied him a while back and had always been fascinated by his work. I discovered several new things, courtesy of Marla (Incredibly pleasant, knowledgeable, and another highlight of Solvang). Kinkade had a whole exhibit of Disney paintings and if you look closely, you'll see some hidden characters! For some paintings, there's a two for one deal because he included a sketch and a signature in the back. The last painting he finished was Eternal Springtime, which has several elements of foreshadowing. I wanted to buy a painting but the combination of fandom, sensory overload, and options overwhelmed me. I do have my eye on one piece which Marla kindly wrote down all the information I needed. read more

I wish I could put negative stars for this rating. I don't know ANYTHING about art but I know my mom LOVES thomas kinkade, so I went in to see if I could find her anything. The lady behind the desk was an absolute retch. Just horrible. I asked a simple question, albeit probably an uneducated one to the extremely "art intelligent" lady behind the desk, and she all but laughed in my face for being ignorant of art. It was so hurtful. Both ladies were sitting on their bums while loads of people were walking around unassisted. I will never go back and no one else should either. read more

I miss the original staff before everything changed. The manager was so personable and the staff was so knowledgable. New faces lately, lots of turnover. Hopefully the new staff will gain some enthusiasm over time. Quality of TK items is consistent regardless of the source do I may just buy online this season instead of in the store. read more

Loved this place and the two sales associates were very nice, informative and entertaining. My husband and I spent time looking and chatting on this quiet Sunday morning. So nice and refreshing to meet genuine people who are not trying to push a sale. Artwork and calendars are spectacular! Thank you and will definitely visit again. read more
