Warning to new patients:…read more This has to be the most pretentious doctor's office I have ever encountered. I have had appointments, cancelled, and rescheduled with prominent doctors all across the country in major cities that are trained in some of the best programs in the nation, but this small town doctor with unimpressive credentials is unreal with his pretentious policies and inflated ego. I called the office to make an appointment, and I was told it takes six weeks to make an appointment with him because "so many people are waiting to see him." Fine. I make the appointment. A month goes by. Two weeks before the appointment I have to leave town for work. I call the office two weeks ahead of time to say that I need to cancel my appointment, and that I will reschedule once I know when I'll be back. I am told that as a new patient you are not allowed to cancel your first appointment. If you do, then you will NEVER be allowed to make an appointment again. This is a direct policy from the doctor. I am then informed, that new patients are allowed to reschedule one time on the spot, but they are not allowed to cancel first and reschedule later. I told the receptionist that I did not know when I would be back in town, and that it would be better if I just called at a later date when I could be sure. I am then told again that a cancellation is not allowed, and that if I proceed with a cancellation I will never be able to book another appointment. The reason I was given is because they held this spot for me and "so many people are waiting to see the doctor." This is absurd. If so many people are waiting to see the doctor then they should have no problem filling that spot immediately. Furthermore, I have never experienced this extreme of a cancellation policy with any office in my entire life. Cancellation policy is usually one, two, or three days ahead of time. I called two weeks ahead of time. That is more than plenty of time. This was not a last minute cancellation. Furthermore, how can a doctor's office expect a patient's schedule to never change? Especially when you make them book appointments six weeks out. People have lives and work. Now, because of this, I will never be allowed to make an appointment with this doctor for the rest of my life. Even if I need medical eye care, this doctor will refuse to see me because I cancelled an appointment two weeks ahead of time once because I had to leave town for work. Consider yourself warned potential patients. This is the most ridiculous and draconian policy I have ever heard of.

The phone number 941-412-0303 is not compatible with landline phones. Since December 21, 2024, I had been trying to get a hold of someone in this office. (I did realize I first tried to call on a Saturday so no one is in the office). However I showed up to this office in PERSON on Tuesday Dec 24th, and they were closed. I get it Dr. Richter is busy and works out of different offices, HOWEVER their phone service needs to improve. If you don't call from a SMARTPHONE they do not answer. FINALLY today I got a hold of MAC (or MACK) wanting to speak to Dr. Richter (and at first THEY did not know who that was) I was calling on behalf of a sensitive topic regarding my uncle, and she was so rude. Dr Richter may be a good doctor, however YOUR FRONT OFFICE STAFF REPRESENTS YOUR BUSINESS, and I was told DR. RICHTER would not take my call at all today. Even if I called back within a half an hour, or at a more convenient time. THIS OFFICE NEEDS A BETTER PHONE SYSTEM THAT WORKS WITH HEARING IMPAIRED LANDLINE PHONES. If they want to serve the older generation, (Our greatest Generation) then you still need to be able support the older generations technology and not just take their money.

Great staff, Dr. Beth is very thorough and explains everything before she does it. She always asks…read moreif I have any questions or concerns. Very easy to talk to.
