Dr Dana Weinkle has been my opthalmologist for the last 20 plus years. As I have gotten older, like many of us, my vision has deteriorated. I recently had surgery to treat the cataracts in both of my eyes. What a difference! My vision has been corrected, and I no longer need glasses. Dr Weinkle was meticulous and went through the multiple measurements to make sure that I got the best results. The procedures could not have gone any better. I could not believe how easy it all went. I was referred to Dr. Weinkle after having developed a fast-growing cataract following an eye injury that had also required two retinal surgeries. He and the crew at PCEC were awesome! Thorough. Considerate. Good listeners. Good at explaining the treatment options I had along with the risks and other considerations. Because of some of my medication history and the fact I had Lasik corrective surgery years ago, there were some additional considerations in choosing the correct lens for me. I was especially impressed that they did 2 separate sets of measurements and calculations on 2 separate days to ensure that I got the right lens. Immediately following the procedure my eyesight was better than it had been in years. And now, a few weeks later, I'm back to reading without corrective lenses or glasses, and back playing tennis, swimming, and doing all the things that keep me feeling young and fit. I have been going to see Dr. Weinkle for many years as I am an insulin dependent diabetic and diabetic retinopathy is of great concern to me. Dr. Weinkle's techs are highly trained and able to perform the procedures they do due to the high standards that Dr. Weinkle requires for his patients. My eye health is excellent thanks to Dr. Weinkle and his staff. Dr. Weinkle's amazing talent as a surgeon took me from barely being able to see to not needing any glasses or contacts at all! Due to my severe nearsightedness and astigmatism I depended on bulky glasses and uncomfortable rigid contacts throughout my life. At 52, I developed cataracts which left vision at any distance unbearably blurry. I was referred to Dr. Weinkle to have cataract surgery. He was understanding of my frustration. He took the time to evaluate my vision thoroughly and show me options to help correct all of my problems. In less than 2 months from my first consultation with him I am free of glasses and contacts! Had an appointment for my 6 month eye checkup. The tech did the whole work up including dilating my eyes. Dr Weinkle came in to finish the exam and to give me the results. He said that he would not finish the exam because I had my cataract surgery at CENTER FOR SIGHT. (which was done over a year ago). He told me to leave his office. I had to leave without getting the results of the part of the exam that was completed. I had to drive home with fully dilated eyes. I didn't know in the United States that you could not have your surgery where you chose. read more
