I couldn't believe when they said yes we will see you and do everything we can to make you comfortable. PEOPLE.. I am not even their patient! When I arrived I was frazzled and not familiar with the area and they were so relaxed and comforting and kind. They got me in right away the dentist was so nice and inspected the issue and got it fixed. I went to pull out my wallet and they said, no that's ok everything is good. I about fell out of my chair. If you loathe the dentist, go to Dr. Cook. She takes a lot of time to walk you step-by-step through what is happening and what it will feel like. You'll always know what is coming. The only drawback is that she is not in any of the major dental insurance networks, which means you'll have to pay up front and wait for a reimbursement check. That's peanuts to me because Dr. Cook and her staff do exceptional work. I can't say enough about this superb small town dentist.

Over the last couple of years I have had four different ortho consultations, but nothing ever felt like a great fit, the right timing, or whatever have you. Having train tracks in my mouth for what I assumed was going to be a long time was not something I wanted to be hasty with; I wanted every part of it to feel like a good idea with zero doubt whatsoever. When I came to Dr. Sturdivant's office, I was instantly comfortable with everything about it. It was, by far, the most thorough initial consultation I had received. Even with his many years of experience, I liked that he admitted he was going to get a second opinion from his partner regarding his recommended treatment options. A lifetime of brushing my teeth too hard had wreaked havoc on my gumline, so I also had to go a periodontist to get their blessing before he would proceed. Further, there was no sales pitch, there was no manufactured urgency, and he really took his time checking out my mouth. His estimated cost came in the highest of all four quotes, but Damon braces are more expensive everywhere, and this was the first time an orthodontist had offered them with any real knowledge to back up the recommendation. I only have my top row up, but will have my next appointment in January to get the bottom row installed, and I'm excited! I'm ready to be done with shark mouth! This office has my trust 100%. All of the staff are incredibly nice every step of the way - front desk, financing, hygiene and the doc, they're really pleasant people and I'll recommend them to anyone all day long.

I'm hoping my 3 star rating will get the attention of the owners to correct processes followed by the billing office. The problem I encountered was that I paid online through their website. I received a late notice and disregarded it because I knew the payment was made by verifying it online. I then received a typed written letter on my non payment. Again I verified my payment was made in June. I even called my HSA and they verified my payment was made. I called the Billing office and explained the situation. She said she saw that a payment had been made and posted the payment to my account. She also said she would waive the late fee. I asked why I was receiving late notices, if I had made a mistake on my end. I wasn't trying to be a "Karen" but eventually understood it was an error by the Billing department. I'm probably a little old school, but if it was me, I would have apologized and assured the client it has been fixed. The owners probably need to look at a new online system that can accept payments and automatically apply them to an account instead of relying on a person to manually update an account. Humans can make mistakes, but as a client it was confusing, made me feel terrible by receiving overdue statements and wasted my time in fixing an error created by another person.
