I am a new student of Thomas. I have been studying with him for one month and I am so excited to…read morehave finally found him. My biggest regret is that I didn't find him 20 years ago. Coming to Thomas is like coming home to an old friend or favorite teacher. He has what all great teachers that I've had in the past seem to have, which is genuine warmth, a great listener, depth of knowledge, an open mind, and a genuine interest in helping you reach your goals that combined with his honest but loving approach make him a rare find indeed. I have been in the entertainment business for many years and have had many teachers from Acting to Dance to Voice so I do have a lot to compare him to and have studied with some great and some not so great teachers. He is definitely up at the top of the list.

Thomas genuinely cares for you and will give you and your voice his undivided attention. Unlike other studios, Thomas won't just let you pass with a "good enough". He will work. stretch, and teach you until you understand where the right note is, what it feels like, and how much space/place it needs to be so that you'll hit it every time! Thomas uses the full hour to work with you. He does cut your time short or rush through your time so you end up only paying for half the class. And he's reasonably priced! When I was shopping around, I saw some pretty high prices. I started going to Thomas about a year ago now, just hoping to have a voice. I knew I could sing deep down, but trying to match the people on the radio always discouraged me. With Thomas' training, not only did I discover my voice, but I extended my vocal range! People that have known me for years that now hear my newly discovered singing voice are BLOWN AWAY! (Lol I'm not joking my grandmother almost fell off the piano bench! Seriously a sight to see lol.) I'm so happy I found SingWithShepard Studios! I expanded my range as an actor and now am auditioning for musicals. Thomas is a great teacher, mentor, and confidant that makes you feel safe to allow your voice to grow. This is the best singing lessons in Los Angeles!

After a quick bag check, we were given wristbands and charged twenty dollars each to party upstairs. It was about an hour to closing time and we made every minute count. The DJ was ON POINT! Soca, 90s and early 2000s Dancehall kept the crowd moving. Everyone was dancing even if they were sitting down. Pianos is dark and smoky and fun af! I bounced around from dance partner to dance partner and sometimes I danced alone. The crowd here isn't afraid to bend you and twist you like a pretzel, if you're okay with that type of motion. You'll get to dance with people of all heights, shades and genders. The age range is from mid 20s to Gen Xers like myself. Bob the bartender on the ground floor, was so cool and he didn't rush us out during Last Call. Bob was even wonderful enough to intervene when an overly excited, borderline creepy guy tried to buy my friend and I shots of tequila that we did not need. At the nights end, the crowd spilled outside full of booze and looking for good trouble to get into. Pianos was pure nostalgia for me-real 90's, Flatbush Bashment vibes. Loved it. Definitely going back.
