Most of my family who dies usually use their burial services. The funeral director is a good friend of my family on both sides. My grandfather and father has done construction work for them, residentially and commercially. So it's pretty much a no-brainer when it comes to burial needs. Her wake and her remains were handled with care. There was tons of family I haven't seen in years there. She had 33 grandchildren so there was tons of kids running around. As I was leaving the wake, one of the funeral home employees was talking very rudely to the kids that was there at the wake. I thought that was out of line but hey I wasn't their parent so I wasn't going to step in for them. Other than that, everything couldn't have been better for my cousin!!!!

So he passed and I witnessed Posey's telling his surviving wife that friends and family would NOT be allowed to view his body, the wife only could view. The actual viewing would be in another State because the immediate family had called after the death and made changes. This broke my friend's wife's heart and she cried as she ran out. This upset me because this man paid for a final wish that he wasn't going to get. It was explained to me (not him) that the law says immediate family is brother and sisters and not the surviving wife. Brothers and sisters can change funeral plans regardless of who pays for the services or what the original agreement was. I protested this and 2 men representing Posey's finally relented and told me that friends and family now COULD view the body. This satisfied me because I believed them. In the end only the wife and 1 person was allowed into the building. You readers know it would cost more money to allow other people in, you also understand my friend asked for and paid for this service. Prior to the final day of Lore's life, my wife and I had a meeting with Steve to make those arrangements as required. Steve was most knowledgeable and showed great compassion in these times of need. As it happens, the service was actually needed the very next day! A call to FairHaven was made and from that one call, the process was transparent and went flawless. The necessary actions were done in accordance with the wishes of the family and all relevant coordinating actions needed between the Hospital, funeral home, and the cemetery involved was done in a timely manner. The actual date of burial was arranged, the transportation of the deceased was determined and arranged for the time of the simple burial ceremony. Note that most of the roadways in the cemetery are just barely wide enough for two vehicles to pass each other. If encountering one coming toward you, slow down and hug the shoulder of the road. THE GROUNDS The grounds are well maintained, and include a duck pond and meditation garden. Do be aware that, while you're welcome to place flowers and other memorials at a tombstone, the maintenance crew will remove them and throw them out once they're out of season.
