On July 18, we went to Paxton and selected Copper Mist for our basement bar. We were given a sample to take home and received a quote totaling $984.13 using the remnant we had selected. At no point during that process were we told that we needed to place a deposit to secure the material or that the piece could be sold to someone else while we were moving forward with our project. Based on that selection, we continued planning our bar and even purchased our sink specifically to coordinate with the Copper Mist. Unfortunately, there were errors and confusion with our project information from the beginning. We returned to Paxton on August 8 and again confirmed what we had selected. We then learned that the material we had been planning our entire project around had been sold. The proposed solution was essentially for us to spend approximately $3,000 to get the material we originally expected to purchase as a remnant for a project quoted at $984.13. I understand that remnants are limited inventory. What I don't understand is why we weren't clearly told what we needed to do to secure the material, particularly when we had received a quote, taken home the sample, continued communicating with Paxton and were making other purchases based on that selection. Mistakes happen. What has made this experience so frustrating is the accumulation of mistakes, the lack of clear communication and, most importantly, the lack of ownership or a meaningful attempt to make the situation right. Three weeks later, we're now essentially starting the countertop selection process over again through no fault of our own. For a purchase like this, customers rely on the professionals they're working with to explain the process and tell them what needs to happen next. That simply did not happen in our experience.

Listened to make sure to use every ounce of space in the new cabinet design. Went over the different cabinet materials to choose the right price range of product for us. Printout of the new layout was spot on with the design plan we were thinking. Update after we get it finished.

We were never refunded $354 from MKD that we were charged for a service we didn't receive. The man…read morethey sent to do a laser measure of our countertop didn't measure anything. He looked at our counter, said he couldn't measure it because a brace was missing and left. He charged MKD for the call and they charged us as though we had cancelled the appointment, but we hadn't. We cancelled the countertop order and got $620 of our $975 back, but they kept the $354 that the laser contractor charged them. We have tried for months to talk to someone at MKD about getting our money back but just keep getting the runaround. We went with Woodsmiths for the same countertop we had ordered from MKD and we are very happy with their service, installers, and especially the laser measurer who had no problem measuring our countertop without the brace in place. I would not recommend MKD to anyone that wants to deal with a company that is honest, good communicaters, and won't rip you off.

Installed damaged quartz with a chip on the edge of the cutout for the sink and chips where they…read morecut holes for the faucet and water filtration system. They got epoxy all over the exterior of our cupboards when installing the quartz. They broke my sink and when they finally installed the replacement sink they got black tar like adhesive all over the wall of my cupboards. They admitted their damage and attempted to clean it up with paint thinner which made it worse. They miscut a corner of the quartz by the dining room wall. Sent photo to owner of chip in quartz but me. Stein never got back to us. ZERO accountability for their incompetent installers.

My tops are shiny in the sunlight as well but for the rest of you, if you didn't happen to notice that your drawer or cupboard door doesn't show the same reveal under your countertop, then you didn't realize that you also ended up with poor craftsmanship. They cut my wall open to try and straighten the top with the cabinets and it still didn't fix the poor artisan capabilities that they just don't have. They refuse to admit that they made a mistake on all three tops and fix it like a real mechanic would. If you have time and money to go to court, then this company is surely for you
