I feel like the inside is really just ice cream, coffee, and a small little nursery area. Not sure if the drive out there was really worth it for the 15 to 20 minutes we spent out there. The banana ice cream was really awesome though and all of the employees there were very helpful and nice. Definitely a place that you go to when there's an actual event unfortunately we just missed the fall wreath making event Seems like people bring their kids out there to run around the outdoor area. As this is a private farm and opened just three days a year to the public, tickets are required for their events. But you can still order products from their website if you were unable to make it to one of the open days. The farm is very welcoming and will make you feel at home and tell you all about the farm. When the lavender is in bloom, the farm is home to many pollinators. Then in December you can buy products made with the lavender grown. You can get culinary lavender; dried lavender; sachets; soaps; lotions; and so much more. If you are looking for a local product this is a good option.

They even have picnic blankets for you to borrow. I also enjoyed the Alpacas who visited the farm today. Beautiful lavender field but don't expect it like the one in Provence. All cuts are individually portioned and vacuum sealed/flash frozen. You can purchase individual cuts, or buy in bulk for a big discount (their "quarter" beef is 80 lbs of meat - 40 lbs. of ground and 40 lbs of cuts). In addition to excellent beef, they grow no spray/low spray strawberries every Spring for U-pick or pre-pick, raise bees on site for honey, and often have some type of vegetables growing and available during Spring, Summer and Fall (right now they have tons of greens and turnips!) They mostly just sell on farm, and if you contact by phone or email it's super easy to work out a time to come by (usually most days but Sunday).

Firefly Farms is a small farm in Hillsborough, NC. They primarily sell produce but do have some…read moreflowers that you can pick by appointment when the farm is open. When you arrive at the farm, follow the gravel driveway back to the barn as that is where the designated parking is at. Then if you are picking flowers, you check in and are provided a grocery store type basket and a pair of scissors. The basket was great as it was light and had two handles. It was also nice that scissors were provided as I've been forgetful in the past and left them at home before. Or if you had ordered produce you can pick that up under the tent. The website is really easy to navigate and make your purchase. The driveway that you drove up, provides a lovely walk back down to where the flowers are at. There were some animals along the way too! There are signs up in the areas that you are allowed to pick flowers. When you finished finding flowers in the various areas, you walk back up to the barn and the flowers are wrapped and put into a mason jar vase. Also tips are given for caring for the flowers. I really enjoyed my outing to the farm and the reservation system made it so easy to social distance as there were not too many of us there at once. The staff was beyond friendly and made me feel welcomed.

The grass was really high and itchy. There was a cat that was following us around also. We enjoyed our time here but there wasn't a large selection of flowers!
