I took my Toyota Corolla to this dealership on January 2nd in the morning for a transmission fluid change and brake service. By 5:00 PM, I was told my car needed several additional repairs: a worn serpentine belt, a leaking radiator, and bad spark plugs. This immediately raised concerns. I had replaced the serpentine belt just 2-3 months ago, and prior to this visit I had no issues at all--no overheating, no warning lights, no starting or acceleration problems--so the claims about the radiator and spark plugs did not make sense. The situation was made worse by the service representative's behavior. They were dismissive and intimidating, and trying to scare me into approving unnecessary repairs. It was an awful and unprofessional experience. The most serious issue is the radiator. Before bringing my car in, there was no leak. After picking it up and driving home (about 15 minutes), I noticed a visible radiator leak and a slight rise in engine temperature. Now the radiator is clearly damaged and will need to be replaced, likely along with hoses--repairs I did not need before this visit. The timing is extremely suspicious. It is hard to believe such a noticeable issue was missed during service yet appeared immediately afterward. I trusted this dealership with routine maintenance and left with a major problem that did not exist before. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before approving any additional work here. They quoted me ~$1.4k to replace the radiator and ~$500 to replace the rad hoses so almost $2K for the whole thing. I called an independent shop and they quoted me $500 for the whole thing. I had a very disappointing experience with the service department at Thornhill Toyota regarding a battery diagnostic for my Toyota RAV4. Last week their team diagnosed my battery and I was charged for the service. Shortly after, the battery failed and I had it tested multiple times using a LaunchTech tester. The results were consistent, and I even had my mechanic verify the readings. The battery was confirmed to be faulty and required replacement. On March 4, I emailed their service advisor with screenshots of the battery test results, exactly as requested during our phone conversation. I explained that the battery had been tested several times and verified by another mechanic. He confirmed he would review it with management. Later, Service Manager responded and refused the refund. His reasoning was that the photos I provided did not include a date, VIN, or wide-frame images showing the battery and testing setup. The issue is that none of these requirements were ever mentioned when I originally called or when I sent the information. I was only asked to send the photo of the test result, which I did. If Thornhill Toyota required VIN numbers, timestamps, or wider photos, that should have been communicated before rejecting the request, not after the fact. Changing the requirements after the customer already followed the instructions provided is extremely frustrating and feels unfair. This experience left me with the impression that the dealership was more interested in avoiding responsibility than in providing fair customer service. If you are dealing with Thornhill Toyota's service department, I strongly recommend getting all requirements in writing before agreeing to anything, otherwise you may find yourself in the same situation. Prices have doubled in past 4 years for basic service and service itself is slow and inefficient compared to original dealership owners. We bought a used 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander in November 2024. By May 2025, our car was stolen from the driveway. Based on footage from our neighbour's camera, we can see the criminals were in our car in seconds. We believe this was an incident job and that the perpetrators had a copy of our key. Only way to do that is to get a copy from someone inside the dealership. DONT BUY HERE. Not to mention the bad service we got, a salesman who said yes to everything and did nothing (didn't fix the scratches, didn't tell us about the dent in the hood, battery that died twice within a month of purchasing the car). Just days later, the check engine light came back with the exact same code. I bought a used car from Thornhill Toyota in Oct 2020. Unfortunately, I had a bad experience. I feel like I was mislead to accept their deal. Sales representative was Joe Brancato. He appeared friendly and professional. The price he offered (after initial discount) was more than what I was considered; so I was hesitant to accept it. I was prepared to walk away and he pitched few things that sounded like giving 'special prices' for rust proofing and winter tires. Considering those offers I accepted the deal and paid the deposit. I was naive and didn't check the details, this was my first car. After signing the agreement the tone changed. The discount for rust proofing was nominal for the price for it and I did not do it. After few months, Today (Dec 1, 2020), when visited them to change Winter tires I learned that the 'special' price he offered is pretty much the same as market price - a 6$ difference! It felt like I was lied to and tricked into accepting the offer. When checked with the sales guy, I was dismayed to see him denying that he made any such offer. I shared the experience with sales manager and he said it is unfortunate and probably miscommunication and apologised. I vividly remember the way sales guy pitched the 'special' offers when I was prepared to walk away. Maybe he was under pressure to meet his targets, but, it definitely did not feel like a miscommunication. Maybe it is an isolated case, but I recommend customers to be skeptical about their offers and get things in writing before signing the deal. And I urge Thornhill Toyota to train their sales staff to make it clear what they are offering and refrain from misleading unsuspecting customers. read more

So disappointed in today's service. My (80 year old) husband's appointment was at 9:30 am and he was prompt. He was told the car would be ready between 1 & 2 pm. They no longer have courtesy drives to take you home and bring you back (which I understand) so my husband walked for about 30 - 45 min. in the rain. When he arrived, they told him they were just beginning the work - switching tires and other assorted things - and it wouldn't be ready for another two hours. He's waiting there. Have to rethink using this dealership for any further service appointments. read more
