In and out, great with setting appointments, I came in they got me to the back to X-ray and check my teeth out. It's great to have an appointment set and actually begin working on whatever it it on my appointment time. Not 30 mins- 1 hr waiting... I came in for a wisdom tooth and my appointment has been set for within the week that I visited. It's crazy I don't have to wait a whole month for a dentist that comes "once a month" like other dentists. This place really had me in and out within 30 minutes. I'm extremely impressed and got to say this staff seems as professional as can be! 5/5 stars recommended I will now be coming here for my all my dental needs. read more

Thousand Oaks Dental makes going to the dentist pleasant, the interior, the receptionists and the staff create a pleasant atmosphere. My wife did some research on Dentist and found this location. She decided that even though is wasn't close to our home it was the best choice based on the reviews. We've both been clients here for around 5 years and love every visit. So much that I decided to finally as a senior (50yrs old) I would get braces. I still had my wisdom so prepping my old grill for braces required removal of my wisdom teeth along with 4 extras that served no purpose so the removal of 8 teeth total ,I was ready! At least I thought I was. Fortunately for me the staff there made every ortho, cleaning and adjustment as painless as possible. The end result was awesome and I now have the smile that I always wanted as a teen, only a little later. I just moved to San Antonio in August and needed to find a new dentist. I found Thousand Oaks and upon arrival, everything was great. The space was inviting and the people were nice. After getting my XRays, however, Dr. Thompson told me that I had cavities in nearly every single tooth and I needed 5 fillings, which would cost $700. Dr. Thompson said my teeth were beyond repair. I was absolutely shocked. I had only had a few cavities in my life and had previously gone to the dentist 6 months prior with no cavities. I felt very uneasy. I got a second opinion, in which another dentist said I, in fact did not have cavities in every tooth, and the 5 teeth that had cavities were minor. At the other dentistry, I only had to get 3 cavities filled at no expense. read more

Chose Thousand Oaks Dental because I live close by. Feel pretty fortunate. My hygienist, Christi, is my favorite of all time. Very nice, laser-like precision with all her instruments and tools. I almost fell asleep during the first cleaning. Been through 3 cleanings at least. I've probably had at least 20+ other hygienists before. I had one cavity filled by Dr. Thompson recently and everything was comfortable. No issues after, all good. I must say, base on this one cavity performance, that Dr. Thompson seems very highly skilled, and sort of perfectionist, which is exactly what you need in this field. I've been to a lot of different dentists 10+. So, I have vast experience. I have also had a ridiculous amount of work done by those dentists. Hopefully, I can take better care of my teeth and I won't have to test Dr. T's skills out again for a while. All of the staff is professional and friendly to me. I had my first procedure done today by Dr. Thompson. First, I must say that the office is well decorated and refreshments are displayed in the wait area. Check in is done digitally with electronic signatures required prior to a procedure. This was something that my previous dentist did not have in place. I was escorted to my room and the hygienist proceeded to inform me what she would be doing. I was going in for gum treatment and for a crown replacement. All I can say is that the gum treatment was done using the latest dental gadgets. Again, my prior dentist who I really like used the old method of scraping my teeth underneath my gums. Nothing wrong with him, his Clinic was just too far. At any rate, I actually liked the method that Thousand Oaks Dental used. In my opinion, it went a lot quicker. My next procedure was the crown replacement. Dr. Thompson was nice enough. She seems to be all business without much small talk. My old dentist on the other hand always made it a point to personalize my visit. Love that about him! I also liked how he would numb my gums. I never felt the prick of the needle which I did with Dr. Thompson. Don't get me wrong, it was bearable and it won't deter me from returning. Just an observation. All together, this Clinic is very convenient for me in terms of distance so I intend on making Dr. Thompson my dentist. Would be nice if she eventually warmed up to me. I'm not looking for a friend, just someone I'd be very comfortable with. After all, dental work can be very unnerving! read more

New to SA I can say I found my dentist. I went in for a cleaning and I was surprised that the doctor was the one who did my cleaning. Other places I've been to the assistants do the cleaning and the doctor just comes and checks the patient. Her assistants are very nice along with her receptionist! They made me feel at home. I feel like many of these reviews get watered down over time but I hope that people see what a great dentist and person she is. Her entire staff was awesome from the person at the front to the dental assistant. After YEARS of painful experiences with braces, dental surgeries, and cosmetic procedures to get my crooked teeth to look beautiful I developed a fear of the dentist chair. Combine that with no dental insurance throughout my 20's and "The Great Avoidance" occurred. Last week I finally rationalized with myself that to wait any longer would surely lead to dentures by 40. So I did a lot of research and choose Dr Thompson's office at Thousand Oaks Dental. They were able to schedule me an appointment within 7 days of calling (not three weeks!). The office was impeccably clean and inviting. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Not surprising I needed more than just a basic cleaning but Dr Thompson was so nice and non-judgemental. She did the additional treatment needed that day. No rescheduling for another time. A detailed estimate was provided prior to initiating the additional treatment and payment arrangements were offered in addition to the typical "apply for Care Credit" that is standard. The office has all the latest technology and, besides the digital x-rays, Dr Thompson did all the treatments personally. I highly recommend this place! read more

I had a new patient cleaning and exam today and when I first walked in, my first impression was that the office was clean and cute. I was called back promptly but that's when things went wrong. An intern did my x-rays and left me standing there afterwards only to have to repeat them and this time the assistant forgot to put the protective vest on me. I'm not sure how dangerous this was, but nevertheless, it was alarming. Dr. Thompson came in and recommended an alternative treatment rather than just a regular cleaning (I've never had a cavity or any dental issues)I was about to go ahead but when they told me the price, I asked to schedule for a later date. They charge 45% more than two other dentists I called to get quotes from in the area afterwards. Lastly, I think I saw 5 or 6 different faces all with a different job while I was in a patient room and once was I was told to go meet Dr. Thompson in her "office," but she never came and seemed to be in a hurry to get out the door as she briefly spoke to me from a distance at the counter and doorway of her office. Dr. Thompson and staff were amazing. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. You don't get the usual "sign in and have a seat" treatment. First time patients fill out information on their laptop kiosk and they guide you through as needed. Waiting room and exam rooms clean-- the entire office is new and clean. They have high tech technology. For example the X-ray machine plays classical music instead of hearing the loud buzzing. My teeth cleaning was by Dr Thimpson. She was friendly, kind, and provided thoroughly explained every step of the way. The coolest thing (I thought) was they use this device to begin your floss/cleaning that sprays warm water and listerine on your teeth which helps if you have sensitive teeth and tastes pleasant. At the end I received an assessment form explaining what was performed and what is recommended. I also loved my "goodie" bag-- toothpaste toothbrush mouthwash and floss. They weren't even the travel size! They were a good size and it was a good toothbrush. Any who, I will be coming back. My family has scheduled appointments based on my experience.
