For the past couple of months I've been working with John Cameron at Palm Tree Realty and I truly…read morecould not have asked for a better experience. First of all, I'm a remote home buyer as I'm active duty military and am relocating to the area. Second, I've never purchased a home before! While these items could have caused various snags in the home buying process, we didn't have a single issue throughout and I could not be more thankful. I was NOT having good luck finding a realtor I felt confident in or trusted so I talked to a few different realtors and finally was referred to Redfin, a real estate application that works with various partner realtors and from there I was given John's information. From the first interaction, John was quick to respond, he always answered my questions and he went above and beyond to make sure I understood the process and the paperwork as we were working through it. He reached out to all the appropriate people at the appropriate times, explaining what I needed to do next and how things would work, and what timeline we were looking at. Finally, he showed my mom houses in place of me since I was unable to come look myself (I live in Hawaii), and he referred me to a fantastic home inspection company (Madewell Inspections). I was cleared to close today (early) and I'm just in awe at how fantastic this whole experience has been. If you're looking for a realtor in the area, look no further as you will NOT be disappointed by John!

Should Brown Property choice to address their issues, I'll change this review, otherwise below is…read morean accurate representation of Brown Rental. After 6 years, apparently Brown rental, Annette and Chris still do the same things in keeping people's deposits. After 6yrs of renting the same property, I gave them 30+ days notice of moving out. They acknowledged the notice and then proceeded to provide zero checklist or expectations of what needed to be done or what they would charge for if not done. After moving out, and prior to turning in keys I had every carpet cleaned, and spent over 6hrs cleaning the entire condo. Brown gave no indication of what to do with the keys. I dropped them off at Brown's office and the receptionist seemed to be surprised by this. I had to email Annette to check on the security deposit and advise where a check could be sent. There was no initiation by them to get this information. I was briskly told by email they had 30days to provide the security deposit. When I finally got the deposit check they deducted $570 for cleaning and housekeeping. The housekeeper alone claimed 9hrs to clean a vacant 3bdrm condo that had already had every bathroom and the kitchen deep cleaned. The carpet in the unit was already multiple tenants old and needed to be replaced not cleaned again, and it had stretch wrinkles in multiple rooms when I moved in 6yrs prior. When I moved in in 2016, Brown didn't bother to paint any room of the condo from the previous tenants. As a result, rooms had scratches, stains, dirty hand prints, and plenty of nail holes. Over 6 years, I repainted much of the unit personally, at my cost, just so I didn't have to look at their lack of maintenance. Add all of this to the already poor maintenance response the Brown provides and they occupy the space between slumlord and vested owner. When the stack of 3 bathrooms were damaged by a failed toilet in the second floor bathroom, Brown took over 5 weeks to repair the unit, leaving a family of 4 with only the master bathroom functional. It was only after repeated calls and emails that they sent their handyman to perform the repair work of drywall replacement, mold abatement, and hardwood floor replacement, none of which was done properly. Someone pocketed a lot of insurance money. They closed multiple maintenance requests for things such as roof leaks and sump pump discharges that weren't draining properly without performing any repair or apparent inspection. If you want a property manager that you need to stay on getting things fixed, Brown is perfect for you. They manage a high number of units in the Cambridge Condominiums, and I spent 6yrs watching the quality of that complex slowly deteriorate.

ZERO SHOWINGS THE ENTIRE LISTING! NO VIRTUAL TOUR! I do not recommend this agency. I'm extremely…read moredisappointed in the level of service from Coldwell Banker Brown Realtors. This is the second agent I have hired from your firm in two years trying to sell my house. The first one was Sally Hohn and then two years later (currently) I hired the services of another one of your agents, Joe Carroll Lic. #475.133398, to sell my house located in Swansea, IL. Its been 85 days since listing in March 2018, and I still don't have a CMA. In fact, your agent failed to do the proper pricing analysis to get the house priced competitively. I don't know why he did not provide the CMA. Perhaps laziness is part of it. He claimed he did one and was having technical issues sending it when I asked him for one. Here is some additional feedback: 1. In my opinion, Price was too high from the outset. According to agent, "The Average price for your home is showing $281,998.00", and yet he recommended it list for 294K. This killed any momentum. In my opinion he should have done his homework, ie CMA, and this would have been apparent. He also told me that he would talk to his IT personnel after telling me that there was an issue with sending the CMA, but he never followed up with me or sent the CMA as he said he would. He also told me he averaged a house sale in 33 days. Not verified on Zillow. 2. Communication overall was poor. He knew I was out of State and the fact that the house and fence were filthy and dirt depicted on the photos, I believe this should have been communicated from the outset before taking pictures. No recommendation from him and a good realtor would have suggested a cleaning. He claimed the house was beautiful, but in fact it was not. I would have paid to get that pressure washing much sooner. Curb appeal is paramount. Check the pic out and see what I'm referring to. It eventually got cleaned, but was too late. Also no virtual tours. 3. No open house in 90 days. I requested them. He should have done an open house. He said he was going to do one, but in fact he did zero. I recommend looking elsewhere for good selling agents.
