We had an absolute blast! captain and his crew is exceptional! our company has gone with this charter the last 2 years and it is always a great time. Crew is not lazy like i have seen on other local charters that we have stopped using. Very accommodating , friendly , and funny! Myself and my employees all say Thank You again for a great day!! *This review is for Jet Ski rentals*…read more I have been going to Hampton Beach my life. And one hour with Adventure Charters warped my whole vision of what Hampton had to offer. What do I know about jet skis? Pretty much nothing. I have a driver's license but I've never driven anything more exotic than a go-kart or a vespa. So when my boyfriend suggesting renting jet skis during our vacation my immediate reaction was to LEAP at the suggestion and then slowly return to reality. 1. I have no idea how to ride one 2. I may get eaten by sharks (I just watched Shark Week!). So we called up Adventure Charters (the only place in Hampton Beach that rents jet skis). They were super friendly and answered all of my questions thoroughly and pleasantly. Since I don't have a boating license, I'd have to fill out a quick test to give me a 14 day temporary license. Then it's $85/hour per jet ski, no matter how many people on the jet ski. That sounds great. Flash forward to August when we walk past all the deep sea fishing shacks. We were greeted by the friendly and genuinely pleasant people working there who explained the little instruction book and test. Test took maybe 15 minutes and cost $20 to take. But no worries, that fee is applied toward the jet ski fee. Then we paid the $500 deposit on each jet ski and the remaining $65 per jet ski. The place provides life jackets, which you must wear, and wet suits, which are optional. I thought we'd need them since NH is notorious for FREEZING COLD lips turning purple water. But not so. The man who took us to the dock was so nice and put all my fears to rest. He even took our pictures on the jet ski and put them on their facebook wall for us to see later. (we couldn't find a water-proof disposable camera on the way there. boo) ZOMG jet skis are my favorite thing in the world. About halfway through our hour, i stopped the jet ski, turned to my boyfriend and insisted that we buy one (ok maybe two) for ourselves. I felt so safe. It was so easy to handle. And we went speeeeding through the waves. An hour was a perfect amount of time. There's a little clock on the "dashboard" next to the speedometer to keep track of when you need to return. We had plenty of time to test our courage and have fun and get back on time. We then walked, back returned the life jackets, got our things (which they were nice enough to keep behind the counter so they were not destroyed). We started planning next year's trip as we walked out the door. Nothing negative to say about this company!

I'm not very familiar navigating the seas of the Hampton Beach area. It was low tide, so they made sure I navigated the waters well before going out. They also told me the best spots to go to. From my first inquiry with Captain Josh I knew we would have a great day. Unlike other charter captains I spoke with, he listened to what I was looking for and what I wanted to get out of the day. He gave us that and more! We were on board the "Annah Hunter" which provided a fast quiet ride out to the fishing grounds. Captain Josh's mate, April was incredible. Like I said I've been on several big "Party Boats' and I wouldn't take 2 of their mates for April. She was so attentive to everything going on it was awesome. From removing fish to changing lures to even helping us bait our hooks she was all over it so that we could spend as much time actually fishing as possible. And fishing......Captain Josh had us on the fish constantly. Every place we dropped we caught fish and we caught very few dogs. I can't say enough about the crew they were so attentive to everything that we needed. I would absolutely recommend them highly for a charter and I will unquestionably use them again.

July is peak Mackerel fishing and if you go with Al Gauron you're sure to catch a ton. We went on…read morethe 4 hour morning mackerel fishing and every single person caught the legal limit of 20 fish. It was $40 per person and $6 per rod rental but the experience was well worth it. You can choose to take the mackerel home whole or the crew can cut them into filets. Nature is…read moreunpredictable, however we were stranded on a boat with an obnoxious tourist family from who could not sit still, and continuously got up and walked back and forth in front of me without even saying excuse me. Small boat, so if you get sea sick please do not go. One of the girls was on the verge of puking 5 feet from me for the entire 4 hour experience. The boat itself is not very suitable for whale viewing, as the top is very small and doesn't fit many people and the bottom floor has a cabin in the middle so you have to run around the boat or through the cabin for the chance to catch a glimpse of a whale. The deck on the sides is small enough to where it is very hard to walk around people for a view, and if people keep walking in front of you there isn't much space- you have to move your legs out of the way, kind of like bleachers at a baseball game. I moved probably 200 times in 4 hours for people walking back and forth. All that being said, the captain tried his best to get us views of whales and educated us on the different whale types, and gave us a lot of info on them. Crew was nice too.

Jim and Tom were extremely patient and thoughtful with him, letting him measure the lobsters, put on the rubber bands and otherwise get hands-on as much as he wanted (which was a LOT). They also tailored the tour to his (quirky, 3-year-old) interests, letting him fulfill another dream of fishing with a full-size rod (he caught three pogies, and is still talking about it), and circling around a huge navigational buoy he was mesmerized by (Tom: "It's big. It's red. It dings. What's not to love?"). I can't recommend these folks highly enough!

They were wicked friendly and more than willing to move if the fish were being picky or we were catching dog sharks. It was relaxing if nothing else. I will happily recommend them for future trips. Eastman's is probably the premier deep sea and charter group on the NH Seacoast. I only say…read moreprobably because there are most likely smaller single boat operations that do it just as well. But for a multi boat operation, Eastman's is top notch. We went out on a cold December day with fairly rough seas, cold temps, and a stiff wind. The captain and crew all busted their butts to make sure bait was kept full, lines were kept untangled, and gaffs were ready at a moments notice. Each spot we went to was given its fair shot before moving. The bite had cooled off from where it had been a few days prior, but we still were able to get on some decent fish. Thats why they call it fishing and not catching. Some reviews are basing their rating off the quality of fishing on their given trip, and not the quality of the service. I'd be careful of taking those reviews too seriously, as even the best fishermen can't always make them bite. If you're looking for a head boat or six pack on the NH Seacoast, you won't go wrong booking with Eastman's. Just maybe dress warmer than I did.
