He and Henni made us feel very comfortable, like we were family. I've been natural since about 2009ish and love my silvers. For the most part wearing wigs or getting the occasional silk press. Very rarely would I wear my natural hair out in its 'kinky' state. In October 2023 did a big chop basically as a no hassle way of dealing with a surgery at that time. That was the last time my hair was serviced by a professional stylist. A had long ago given up using hair grease until a friend recommended I try Doo Grow. I was skeptical and began my search for a natural stylist who matched what I wanted for my hair. My criteria was a stylist who supported a simple routine that focused on low manipulation and back to basics healthy hair routine. I found an IG influencer who recommended the AfirkanHairGod as one who promoted a simple routine of water and hair grease as a moisturizing routine. The more I binge watched his videos, the more I knew that this was who I was looking for. His philosophy matched my ideal of what I was looking for. So I started following his recommendations of detangling, grease and other techniques he recommended and found they worked well for my hair. Case in point was that I had very crunchy ends that I thought would need to be cut off. Much to my surprise, at my consultation, I was informed that he only needed to trim very little. Apparently following his recommendations was already working and I was released to a one year follow-up unless I needed to come back earlier. So that solidified in my mind that he is genuinely interested in the health of your hair. He is not cut happy. He cuts when needed for damage, and then he gives you a choice of how you want to proceed to correct your damage. He is very kind, patient and answers all your questions. I've seen videos of his customers who come in with damaged hair and end up with flourishing healthy natural hair under his care and tutelage. So would I recommend The Griyn Thumb Salon with Narada and Henni? Absolutely!!! Hands down, my stylist of choice. Can't wait to see my home progress and get the results at my next visit

I'm gonna attach a picture of their stated policy which they didn't even honor. They strictly tell you to send a picture of your hair, send a picture of the style you want and the day/time you want. They also explicitly state that all new clients receive a consultation. I had to submit a $100.00 deposit to secure my appointment. The 3 hour service cost $375.00 including the deposit. I was about to leave a positive review about my hair and the fact there wasn't any wait times. Then I saw reviews about consultations and educating the client on their hair. I received no such service. I looked at their policy to make sure I hadn't misinterpreted anything and there it was plain as day. Reached out to Henny/Henni about this and she back peddled on their stated policy outlined in the text message and tried to gaslight me about it. She eventually got defensive and ended our discussion. Let me spare you a headache...... Once you have your appointment. Ask for the name of the stylist who will be doing your hair. If it's Henny/Henni, immediately request another stylist in the salon. If you can't get another stylist then cancel the appointment. Look at the reviews. Most all the positive reviews are about the other stylists at the salon and most all the negative reviews are about Henny/Henni. Had Henni honored her salon policy and not gaslit me, she would've had myself and about 20 plus new clients from me alone. I run a small business and I network on a constant basis. I'm big on supporting and advertising for black owned business but I can't recommend her services in good faith.

My personal experience: I recently relocated to Georgia and I was looking for places to go and figured I would try the HairLoft because I follow them on Instagram and they had an available appointment on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 4pm so I booked right away (keep in mind this was my day off from work) I booked with Dee short for DeAndrea because I didn't understand what Level 1 or 2 meant on the website and the website did not explain this so I picked randomly (this could easily be fixed with a short definition or years of experience put by the stylist name). My appointment time according to the confirmation from the salon was 4pm-5pm (VERY IMPORTANT) this was for a Silk Press +Hydration Treatment +Haircut. Cost $160.00 for a level 2 stylist (still not sure what that means). I only left a $10.00 tip because well keep reading.... I arrive to the salon at 3:30pm because traffic is terrible here and I wanted to make sure I made my appointment time. I'm taking back to the shampoo bowl right away and on my way to the shampoo bowl, I am thanked by the stylist for showing up early to my appointment. By 4:20pm I am washed, had my hair treatment, and my hair blown out ready to go into the chair for the haircut and silk press (the salon had at least 3 shampoo girls and they rotated with blowing out the hair). I'm thinking this process is so efficient until 5:30pm rolls around and I'm still not in the chair (no one communicates anything with me about running behind). I see another client in front of me and I have to leave at 5:45pm because I had to be back home, keep in mind my appointment time was from 4-5 (I have the email confirmation sent from the salon). So I tell the stylist I have to leave and be back at my house by 6:15 (the drive from my house to the salon is 30-40 minutes depending on traffic that day) and she asked if I could come back later that night, or tomorrow Wednesday, January 3, 2024 but I already had something planned because my appointment time was from 4-5. The only day I could come back was Thursday after work (I get off at 4pm and traffic starts to get bad here around 3pm). I am told to come back Thursday after work at 4:30 so she can finish my hair. So I pay for my service that I did get (wash, hair treatment, and my hair blown out). I was told not to put any product in my hair so I went to work with frizz blown out hair. I arrived back at the salon on Thursday at 4:30 on the dot for the cut and silk press but tell me why another client is in the chair after I was told to be there at 4:30. The kicker for me was they went outside to take pictures for Instagram and I've been waiting since Tuesday to get my hair finish. At this point I'm so over this lady and place. I finally get in the chair at 5pm. The inconvenience overshadowed anything this lady could possibly due to my hair. I'm finally done by 5:30 and this lady has the nerve to try and take pictures of my hair :/ completely done-the audacity. To Management: The point of running a successful business is to get customers but also retain them (this is not the way). If you are paying 3 shampoo girls and the appointment times are still not being met- something is flawed with your business model or the people you have working for you. A friendly disclaimer on your website about the wait times or just someone communicating to clients that the stylist is running behind would go a long way. I have been going to Curlie Girlz Rock for years and I'll go through a period of doing flat twists for warm months and then switch to silk presses for the fall/winter. On Sat Nov 23, I had an appointment with Naeema for a color touch up and silk press. Since it was a busy Saturday, I expected a long wait. She began my service within 10 minutes of my arrival. Her ability to manage multiple clients with ease is another plus. My wash , color and conditioning went smoothly. And during my drying, she suggested a trim. Which I expected since I hadn't had a trim in a while. My press and trim and style was skillfully done. My color is a rich light-medium brown auburn which, I love. Also, I asked Naeema about maintaining my press because I am an active runner. And I took her advice of high ponytails and cool air drying after my long runs and it's quite effective. I am pleased with my experience and will continue going to Curlie Girlz Rock.
