A charming little coffee shop with very unique offerings and the quality to match. Going in, you are first greeted by three menus: seasonal drinks, regular drinks, and food. On your way to the counter, you see the variety of loose leaf teas, coffee bags, and pastries all on display to tempt you from your initial choice. I ended up ordering the Golden Hour Cold Brew (cold brew with honey and orange cream on top) and the Chorizo Empanada (it even had chorizo stamped onto the shell). They were excellent, but couldn't go wrong with anything thing there from: ube waffles, empanadas, toasts, and more. The staff were very friendly, will definitely return when I am back to S Lake Tahoe for the waffles.

The best coffee shop we got in Tahoe -- great coffee, delicious affogato, and delicious+healthy snacks (my fav is the ube waffle). Great service and chill vibes. This is now my go-to cafe when friends are in town. :)

Really cute coffee shop in south lake. They have a ton of drink options to choose from. Even a couple of pastries. And gluten free options. The espresso is really strong, coffee is good and loved the many different types of matcha and latte flavors. Wish they were open throughout the day longer. Service was also quick and friendly. Good spot for coffee right off the hwy!

A great place for a quick pop in treat. I love the mini acai bowl. The coffee selection is abundant.

    ube superfood waffle (vegan!)

The ube superfood waffle from here is HEAVENLY. The ube waffle is perfectly lightly crisped on the outside and moist on the inside. It also tasted absolutely delicious with a strong but not overwhelming ube flavor and the combination of toppings works really well. Literally the best meal I've had in recent memory and I will probably be thinking about it for several months to come. The ube waffle itself is vegan, and so are all the toppings except for honey but they can swap it out for maple syrup. The regular waffles however are not vegan I believe. The menu is clearly labelled for vegan/vegetarian/gluten free. The place is pretty busy, I came around 8:30am and was able to easily get a table but around 9am it started getting very crowded and many people were standing around waiting. There is one bathroom in the back. The inside is cute and they have some board games available. Staff were all very friendly.

Three Pine's Coffee One of my favorite coffee spots in South Lake Tahoe. Great coffee, relaxing atmosphere, and a place I'd happily visit again. Approved!

Such a little Gem in South Lake Tahoe. Absolutely loved this coffee shop and consider it a must go while here! The food is delicious and the drinks are the absolute best! We came here multiple times during our stay in Tahoe and had a wonderful experience every time. One morning it was very busy because of a power outage. The staff were so kind and friendly making sure that every patron was taken care of. The atmosphere is calm and inviting. My kids loved the giant uno cards and played each time we went. The kids Cacao and steamed milk with honey and vanilla was delicious! I loved the Foggy match and the seasonal drinks. The chicken empanadas and all the waffles were delectable! Thank you for this special little space you have created. We will be back!

super cute cafe in tahoe, with a variety of drinks and food. they have lots of unique flavor combinations as well. our cashier was really friendly! we got the orange honey cardamom latte ($7.50) and the turkish delight latte ($7.75). the base espresso was pretty good! I thought the flavors were good too and not insanely sweet

Delicious and delightful! We went to Three Pines cafe twice during our overnight trip to Tahoe. Gorgeous cafe with a very relaxing and welcoming vibe. I loved the plant life and moss wall decor! Then, of course, there's the food and coffee. Everything we tried was delicious. The first visit we ordered an affogato and a cortado. The affogato was such a nice treat, and my husband enjoyed his affogato. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and our orders came out in a timely manner. We went back for breakfast before we left Tahoe the next day, and their breakfast menu was really unique and tasty! They offered some different granola bowl options, empanadas with different fillings, and gluten free waffles! I would definitely recommend trying this place if you're in the area. If I lived closer I could certainly see becoming a regular!

Suuuuper adorable coffee shop! Delicious coffee, tea blends, açaí, and great vibes :) kind staff, and really accommodating with giving me some honey for the tea upon request. I'm excited to try their other teas like liver detox next time we come! Inside was really beautifully decorated with ski lifts and greenery/wood accents everywhere.

Three Pines! Love it. Normally great detail in my reviews, but I'll give you what I experienced, summed up. First sip of their creamy, silky, rich, deep cocoa, bold coffee, sweet vanilla, and I was transported to Organic Coffee Heaven! My #1 Spot in Tahoe for Coffee!

We only ordered latte and it was pretty good! I can tell they make best coffee in Lake Tahoe. If you you're staying here and want to grab a cup of coffee, it's a good choice! They also have coffee bean bags in store.

An absolutely amazing find in South Lake Tahoe! This place has been voted locally as one of the best coffee shops and that is a well deserved title for sure! This seemed like a place that's super busy all the time- even when we visited mid morning on a Wednesday. We got in line and ordered an almond joy latte, a cold brew, an almond waffle, and grabbed a seat at an inside table. There is not much seating here- inside or out- especially for how busy they were. They have a pretty extensive menu but the few items we tried were incredible! The waffle was perfectly cooked and the fresh toppings made it great. That almond butter was killer. I love that they use a unique batter which limits junk and filler ingredients. The coffees were also great. What I loved most here was the vibes. Plants everywhere, unique decor, fun merch, great music, friendly people. What a blast! Go to Three Pines! It's a great stop whether a local or a tourist and I highly recommend it! Enjoy!

First, this is a coffee and Kava lounge. I don't know much about Kava, so I can only speak to the coffee. They do also have some food, but I am not sure how that works since there was only a single employee when we visited. Maybe only certain hours? Maybe it just takes some time? Not sure, we skipped food on this visit. We ordered one of their signature matcha drinks and a cold brew. The single employee was friendly and doing the best she could, but it got quite busy and I could tell she was struggling to keep up. The prices at the register were $0.25-$0.75 higher than what was listed on the menu board. Always a bit annoying... The matcha was good, the foam texture is very cool, however the cup was more ice than beverage. The cold brew was fine, nothing special but still tasty. I liked the vibes a lot when I walked in here. It's filled with plants and natural light, but then I looked around a bit more and the space just felt messy. There was stuff everywhere, boxes laying on the ground, and generally just a lot of clutter in the space. Overall, I think there are better coffee spots in South Lake Tahoe. If you're looking for Kava, give this place a go, but for coffee I would steer you somewhere else.

Currently they have send me a double order and are prepared today to sent me yet another order. They do not answer their emails or their phone. No idea what is going on but endless supplies of 5 pound bags of coffee every few weeks is not what I want. I will cancel my subscription, membership and never order again. (I'd burn their shirt as well but it's a pretty nice t-shirt). My advice is to never order anything from them. Perhaps they will get customer service straightened out but as of the last two months it is a nightmare. New- I sent 19 emails with the exact same information-a notice showing a new shipment of coffee mirroring the order I received two weeks ago and asking them to cancel- and this Yelp review. They contacted me via email assuring me the order was cancelled, when my next delivery was due, and thanking me for my years of service. My guess is a negative Yelp review impacts them. I like their coffee. I like the fact some of the money goes to eye cancer research. But beware, you are on your own to handle subscriptions and shipments. And because they answered my emails after multiple weeks of wrestling with this I doubled their star review- from one to a two.,,,,,,,,, For reasons known only to me I am changing my review from 2 star to 5 star. It would not be out of place in a three-Michelin-star dining room. He roasts every batch himself over a wood fire, feeding a beautiful old roaster with logs he chops by hand. His espresso blends are composed with a level of precision that feels almost synesthetic. Ask him what he is aiming for and he will describe the roast in shapes: how wide the base should be, whether it tapers or flares, how many sides the finished polygon has. I have stood there listening, fascinated, with no real idea what he is talking about, then tasted the cup and understood anyway. Important to know: this is not a coffee shop. There is no barista counter. It is a modest storefront and warehouse, and if you stop by you will likely see Tim at the roaster, stoking the fire. The aroma is arresting from the street. That wood fire imparts a signature note that sets his coffee apart. It does not turn smoky in the jerky sense. It reads as a gentle campfire thread running through the cup, adding warmth and dimension without heaviness. Since moving away from Reno I miss these beans enough that I cave and pay the shipping. If you order Priority Mail, the bags arrive right in the early sweet spot of their drinkability window, perfect for dialing in extraction. If you know your way around a grinder and an espresso machine, get these beans. Tim Curry is an amazing craftsman making world-class coffee, one hand-roasted batch at a time.
