Always wanted to stop, but never had the chance.. Today, I definitely had the chance! Just picked up a fully automatic espresso machine, and needed whole beans. I checked website prior to arriving, so I knew what to get. Very helpful in helping me and I honestly can't wait to start this espresso journey. I bought three bags to start.. Looking forward to my next visit.. and I should be a pro barista by then!.

The owner, Tim, is an awesome, super friendly, and knowledgeable guy! My husband has been a customer of his for several years. Found him on a whim through his Facebook coffee tasting event and sent my husband since he's a coffee addict. He loved the experience as well as Tim's expertise, being one of a handful of wood-fire roasters in the country. Ever since then, he has signed up every year for Tim's Coffee of the Month Club where he gets to try out unique flavors of coffee beans for a reasonable price. Tim also offers micro lots of specialty beans as well as holiday blends. Tim makes us feel like part of his coffee family every month I stop by for our pound of new coffee. Thanks Tim!

Tim is dedicated to quality and taste. The fact that each batch is produced by hand is a lost art. He's has a great desire to produce a fantastic product and shows it to his customers. I've seen many customers while I've been talking to him and he politely stops because his customers are knowing him and he knows them. PS David is great, too. Very nice to talk to and enjoys the business, as well

This is a little Tiny place right across the street from NV Energy. You wouldn't know it by looking at the outside, but all The amazing goodness is right inside the door! Don't be deceived by the entrance .... there are leaves and wood and misc items unorganized and placed on pallets. When you walk through to the actual roasting area and coffee filling room.... you know you are getting a fresh and amazing product! Not only where they incredibly nice and helpful, but very accommodating and knowledgeable about what we wanted. We will be back!! Great job :)

Darn it Wood-Fire Roasted Coffee Company must you tease me. Yes, this place has good coffee. I bought the Guatemala 16oz bag and man! Man! Dang! I want to say I hate it, but I really like it. When I make my coffee and drink it, I only drink it black because I have gotten use to it this way. But the bad thing is you have to have really good quality ground coffee roasted fresh for this to be palatable. When I drank this coffee it was like you come across 300 bars of gold. Youre eyes just open wide and realize you really have something here. You found something! Something you dont want to share. I know this is the evil side of me talking. I want to keep this place a secret and only I have the knowledge about this place hahahahaha. Sorry just got a bit dark there. But it wouldn't be a good business model and this coffee place would go out of business and there would be no more Wood-Fire Roasted Coffee Company and then I would be again on the hunt for another good coffee place. Yeah, I like this place. Yes, you really can taste the woodyness in the coffee and yes woodyness is an actual word my auto correct on my phone says it is. Anyways, I highly recommend checking this place out and evil thoughts aside I really do want these guys to be successful because I love local businesses and love to support them. If you wanting to indulge you sense and want good quality coffee, drink the coffe black and check this place out haha. Thanks for reading my review.

This is another review of this awesome coffee roaster! Tim produces some fine coffee beans using his own taste and techniques to develop some really great roasts. This past weekend, Master Roaster Tim, (my title for him,) hosted a French Press workshop to share some methods he has found to make a good cup of coffee. I use a FP, but had no idea there were techniques to really changing the flavor of my final brew that could be produced through methodology! It was great to sit with other coffee lovers and get into the different complexities and dimensions of a bean based on grind, water temp, brewing time, even the process of mixing, jiggiling and stirring beans and water to develop the flavor of the brew. I really look forward to my visits to the shop. Tim always has the time to talk about coffee: what he is roasting, what he will be roasting and various things he knows or has discovered about his beans and roasting. Several more workshops are planned for 2019, so make plans to join one to share some coffee, conversation, and get a nice little education about coffee.

I'm a huge fan of Coffeebar in general, so when I saw a location I had never known about or been to, I threw it straight into the map and headed over around 1 PM. It took me 2-3 laps around the block to realize this place was tucked in an alleyway. It's a true hidden gem. I almost gave up when I couldn't find it and the map directions didn't make much sense. This location is a small shop with only a little bit of seating indoors and a few tables outdoors. This is primarily the roasters location, so it's a great place to enjoy the freshest of coffee but also a great place to purchase beans. They had a very large selection of beans for purchase. They still offer a decent menu and a few snacks, though much smaller than the other location. My wife enjoyed a matcha and I enjoyed one of the exclusive roastery blends on drip. Both drinks were very good. The quality of the drip coffee was superior. I want to visit again and try a coffee flight. That's something I've always wanted to do. Overall, friendly staff, delicious coffee, and even though it's hard to find, this hidden gem is well worth the stop. Cheers!

They have a black sign with a bird on it which is really the only marker you can spot for knowing you've found it. The inside has simple decor but is bright and clean. I got a standard iced vanilla latte and croissant, both satisfied my breakfast cravings but were not anything extraordinary. With so many great coffee shops in Reno, you've got to find a way to stand out to get people back in the door. Even though I had a good experience here, I'm not sure if I would be rushing back unless I found something worth returning for. Still a nice place to stop if you're in the are!

We were a little bummed because we saw on their listing that they have pastries and were wanting a little snack but they didn't have any available that day. We were both happy with our coffee selections and my latte had a pretty design on it. The barista was pleasant and answered our questions, especially after we let her know we were first timers. If you are looking for cute and cozy, this probably isn't your vibe. It was pretty cold, and the tables and chairs were just basic hard white furniture and the barstools didn't look particularly comfortable either. We probably would have stayed for another cup but both of us were feeling restless and my legs were starting to get numb after sitting for a while. I'd most likely come in and do a to go order if I were to come back. Because the drinks were definitely good. Just not really my jam for a place to sit and visit.
