Paid $400+ for a 30lb recursive take-down set up. After several weeks of shooting the limbs became tweaked. Paid $50 to ship back, told tweeking on both limbs was because the bow was dropped, scratches on bottom limb. ​I had dropped it twice while shooting. They said they untweeked the limbs, will give me a new string since my original string was falling apart. I asked if shipping could be reimbursed. They said no, and charged my Visa another $22 to return ship my bow. I wish I had read the previous "experiences" with 3 Rivers, I doubt I will be making anymore purchases from them. read more

Beware their shipping practice. They charge an exorbitant rate to ship based on the cost of the item then ship the cheapest way possible. My order shipped on March 30th and as of April 6th I have yet to receive my items. Contact with the postal service told me exactly how much 3 Rivers payed which wasn't anything close to how much they charged. When we called 3 Rivers today to try and make this right they gave us a load of crap and said it had only been 4 days. They might be fine if you go to the store but I can say I will never do that either after dealing with their lousy customer service. read more

I have been a customer of 3Rivers Archery for well over a decade now. I have no idea the exact number of orders I have placed with them but the stack of old receipts and packing lists is massive. ...There are not many items in their inventory which I have not ordered at least once, at one time or another.... and on almost every order I found their products to be well made and of the highest quality... Their staff provided excellent service, insuring their shipments arrived in a timely manner... On the very few occasions when they did made a mistake - or something was not right with an order, they made good on it immediately and corrected the situation as quickly as possible... I can't always say that about other companies who have offered similar products or services... Of course I know I can't speak for the experiences of other customers.... Ordered from them recently when my local shop became too expensive and slow for what I was looking for. Shipping was a bit high, even on the smallest items your first item may cost you like 8 bucks in shipping. Subsequent items are cheaper percentage wise, but they really need to get those shipping costs under control as they are prohibitively expensive if you just want to order one thing. I could only use them if I was ordering a bunch of things. Anyway, I ordered my samick sage 60# limbs from them after my local shop told me it would take two weeks to order (lol?) and got them from 3rivers a day or two later. I was very, very impressed. They are also much better than those Lancaster jokers who promise and never deliver. I recommend them for mail order over the Lancaster jokers. My only experience was a nightmare and I can't recommend this company. Bow with supplies were reportedly shipped in two boxes with one tracking number. Supplies arrived in a small box, but bow did not. Label indicated 1 of 1. Had to wait for a 10 day UPS investigation, and then another 10 days for refund to arrive. Not sure whose fault it was, but after nearly a month, I am without a bow and am very frustrated. read more

I did quite a bit of research on the DAS bows / DaLaa and found nothing but great reviews everywhere I looked. So, I placed an order with 3Rivers Archery for a 21 inch riser and wood core limbs at 37# limbs for a 66 inch completed bow. Additionally, I purchased the case, two strings and two dozen arrows splined for my new bow. The packing box and everything was received with zero damage. The first thing I noticed when I opened the package was the extremely poor paint on the riser and numerous burrs sticking out of the holes drilled for various accessories in the riser. The paint actually shows a orange peel like look along the riser with some spots being worse than others. There are numerous spots where the riser is drilled that paint is missing around the hole and there are quite a few paint chips and scratches. Also a couple of what look like a crack in a limb or maybe a scratch. Contacted Customer Service at 3Rivers and they were awesome. 3Rivers Archery stands behind their product. read more

I recently purchased and received the Bear Grizzly and was very surprised and disappointed to see that the bow does not look at all representative of the photo they and on their website representing this product. I accept that there might be a small degree of variation when it comes to the patina, but the color, finish, and luster do need to be represented correctly; and to be clear no where does it indicate that the product photo will not match the actual look of the bow. After I contacted 3Rivers Archery support about this I received a response from "James" in which he writes: "Curtis, I have contacted our web designer so we can get the Bear grizzly updated on our website. This is the new 2015 color for the Bear Grizzly. If you would like to send this bow back into for an exchange or a refund that would not be a problem." Firstly, my name is "Edmund" which is indicated on my sales order, and my email that I sent. Attention to details is always nice when you contact a client. After this I contacted them again and noted that though I ordered the 2085x, the item added to the cart (RH and 50#) reads 2086-1. James replied by phone this time and noted that this was the "new" color for the bow, and I could either ship the bow back for a replacement or refund (at my cost) or they would provide $25 credit. Wow, a whole $25? Considering that the bow was $400, and I had previously purchased the much more expensive Martin Hunter, glove, bracer (very poor quality and poorly represented), two dozen traditional-only carbon arrows cut and with tips, and a quiver, one would think that something more would have been offered ... such as a dozen arrows. I actually requested this and was told that $25 was the best they could do. Apparently it is okay to 3Rivers Archery to ship an item that one did not purchase, and then charge them for return. The quality of their items and selection is good and, on some items (like, I've found, carbon shafts), their pricing is better. However, every time I've ordered from them it takes them 3 days just to ship my order. Twice I called and both time was told that it was because they were especially busy. This most recent time, I placed an order with Cabela's and 3 Rivers at the same time and date and Cabela's order will arrive tomorrow and I was told that the 3 Rivers order may not even ship until tomorrow! read more

The shipping costs for small items are already high. I ordered a 67 inch bowstring and got a 65 inch bow string. They want me to pay to ship the string back and then shipping costs on a string of the correct length. Looking on line there are about 30 suppliers of high quality flemmish twist strings for less money than 3 Rivers price plus shipping. I've bought several strings from them before and fletching, nocks and points; customer service sucks. I needed the string this weekend and they expect me to pay $16 to get a correct sized string some time in the future. read more

My first order with Three Rivers Archery Supply was for wood youth arrows for my daughter's birthday. The arrows were poorly packaged in a flimsy thin-walled rectangular box and, not surprisingly, they were nearly all crushed in USPS shipment. Obtaining a refund from 3riversarchery was truly the worst retail business experience I've ever had in my life! The company staff is argumentative, unsympathetic to customer needs, and incompetent in their management of return transactions. Even more than a month AFTER I was told that a refund had been issued to my credit card account and I would see it post in 1-2 weeks, I found that it had never actually been issued. Several times during my twenty email exchanges with 3rivers, I felt that my communications with them were falling of deaf ears. Sometimes I had to resend emails that were sent to no avail or action on their part. I also had to argue with them about their very lucrative profit center called "shipping and handling," which they refused to refund to me. I finally had to expend considerable time and effort to file a dispute with my credit card bank before 3riversarchery actually made good on the promised refund as well as the significant "shipping and handling" charge. Compared to several dozens of shooting sports transactions that I make every year with other online retailers, buying merchandise from 3riversarchery is a poor wager, given that any product can always arrive damaged (VERY likely with 3rivers packaging) or there might be a need to return an item for refund or exchange. Luckily, there are plenty of other competitors in this market to choose-from, and I've experienced nothing but excellent customer service in my many decades of experience many of them. I highly recommend avoiding 3Rivers and doing business with MidwayUSA, Cabela's, Brownell's (which is ramping a solid archery business) or many of the smaller businesses like Lancaster, Rose City, or Forrester too. Plus, other vendors ship fragile wood arrows in a heavy cardboard tube, instead of a flimsy rectangular cardboard box! read more
