Firmly, to the contrary, Dr. Sito is an exceptional veterinarian with vast experience and compassion and empathy for pets. He listens to pet owners and knows exactly what needs to be done, explains his plan, and contacts the pet owners promptly should he have to run tests, X-rays, etc. Dr. Sito offers advice and is supportive. Prices are fair and pet owners get timely reminders for upcoming vaccinations. Further, his receptionists are always friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They go the extra step and call the pet owner after 1-2 days to follow up and see how your pet is doing. Their approach is more family oriented. Banfield Pet Hospital in Nesconset, NY.  I have been in contact with Banfield, speaking with the…read moreChief of Staff, and was unable to obtain answers or a true concern and apology.  She, herself, stated the Doctors are spread thin, and that day she saw 35 animals.  How much time is actually being spend on treatment and care in an 8 hour day, when one Doctor sees 35 animals!?!?!?! My dog was under their care since 2017, and was never diagnosed with a life threatening tumor, even though I maintained her wellness exams, shots and nail trimming etc.  She had multiple symptoms, all of which were ignored.  After taking her to another Vet, who immediately diagnosed her tumor, just from touching her belly, she went into emergency surgery.  The tumor was pushing against all her internal organs, and at the risk of rupturing.  The tumor ended up weighing 20 pounds - 20 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!  The Vet stated this does not happen overnight and any exam was "Veterinary 101." This dog was suffering a while. Apparently, you cannot pursue legal action because animals are considered property!!!! That will not stop me from telling people to STAY AWAY FROM BANFIELD everywhere I can!!!!!

We kept calling to let them know he wasn't eating and they kept charging us to get him other food and keep doing the medications. In short, he passed away not even two weeks later. When my partner went to return the kidney food (as they told us to do), someone at the front told him "people don't realize how serious Lyme disease is", as if we weren't taking the necessary steps to prevent this. He told them he wished the vet informed us enough of the lethality and risks of Lyme disease. The emergency vet ER nearby treated my dog more fairly than this vet did.

I made an appointment for a euthanasia consultation not knowing if medication would be considered. My heart was heavy trying to decide what was best for her. Thankfully Dr Howe listened to my fears and we spoke about Athena's long life and that it was okay to end her suffering. I truly appreciate Dr Howe and her staff. Their professionalism and care is apparent in everything they do. Two medications are given in the process, one to gently sedate and the other for release. Dr Howe was so gentle with Athena, talking softly to her. Dr Howe pushed the sedation, said something softly and quietly to Athena, kissed her head and then administered the second medication. I have never seen a doctor care for or respect an animal's life as she did. It meant a lot to me.
