I made a phone call to the Best Friends Animal Doctor recently. Despite the fact that they had no appointments available for quite a while, the receptionist decided to declare my problem an emergency. She advised me to go to the pet ER. Well I am old enough to have been there before, and would have been able to judge if I needed to run there. Then she tried to vet shame me by asking why my "current vet" could not take me. He died. I felt patronized after that with her mushy gushy I am sorries... If I followed her advice I would have wasted valuable resources (cash) that my dog needed for his care. I called around until found a vet who took me in right away. Now, three weeks later, My dog is fine, thankfully and I was grateful to hand another vet a wad of cash after blood work meds, exam etcetera. Glad I avoided Best Friends . read more

Sorry..but I'm not happy. My dog was diagnosed with liver issues through blood work (why wasn't it followed through) I requested an xray because she had diarrhea for months and they just kept giving her meds for it instead of taking care of the cause. We put her to rest lastnight .She had a tumor on her liver which was pushing on her organs..This should have been caught .Then I was told she had cushings which was not true she probably had the tumor growing on her liver all along. Then I told them she keeps digging and acting like she's burying something-I was told she does that because of her age- not true-her stomach was upset from the tumor-she would throw up-then I was told by the girl to give her a blanket she was cold thats why she was digging. WTF...shes part Akita how could she be cold..unbelievable..All the visits I made for the diarrhea was caused from the liver which should have been caught. I will never return here and further more I was a better vet to my Nikka then they were. You should always follow your gut feeling which I regret not doing sooner and believing in them instead of myself. My dog suffered at the end as well as myself and my son this should have been caught years ago.. I am hurt and discusted with the improper care for my pet. Furthermore when Nikka was ill and they squeezed her in they charged more for the visit..so cold considering we have been going to them for years-instead of appreciating our dedication they took advantage.. read more

This is hands down the best vet I have ever been to. They have treated my dog with care countless times. Their facility is the most state of the art vet office I have been to by far there is no comparison.... They saved my dogs life when she was 3 from a rare medical issue that occurred out of no where, got her in immediately with zero hassle. There are multiple Doctors here all of them very caring and amazing that help one another. Recently we moved, since then we have went to 5 vet offices that just didn't meet the Best Friends standard. We just had a medical issue with our now 9 year old dog... Each vet out here looks out dated, and was very perplexed at what the issue might be. One email to best freinds along with video documentation and they responded with a very detailed email on what they think the issue is and how they would go about treating it. Not only is best Friends vet very expensive.. Also they was never able to diagnose my pet on what she is allergic to. They originally had mentioned that doing allergy testing would be very expensive so they steered me away. So They tried all different medications month after month. that Never worked but costed Me Thousands of dollars during my time with this veterinarian. When all of that money I spent during my time with them could have went towards allergy testing from the very beginning.. Meanwhile poor dog has been suffering for over a year and a half. With rashes & itchy paws & private parts. During my time with best friends I had made appointments with all 3 vets there and all 3 couldn't diagnosis my dog to see what she is allergic too. Just expensive medicine that didn't work! I would spend $300-$600 every month on medicine & check up visits While my poor dog suffered. I am extremely frustrated with all the time & money I spent with this vet during the first year & half of dogs life. This Was big Waste of Time & Money. Now I will be changing vets & the new vets will be doing the allergy testing right away. This is absolutely the cleanest Vet office I have ever been to with the most serene and calm atmosphere. When we had our puppy spayed there it was like it never happened - she was back to herself by the following morning. I was concerned she would be shaken up for days but it was really incredible how little it affected her and how easily she transitioned right back to her old self. We have seen both female vets as well as the male vet - everyone is thorough, verbose, kind, very warm with our dog, and in general a joy to be around and deal with. I was shocked to see some of the other reviews stating the practice was expensive. The prices are on par for other vets in our area, if not a little cheaper than some. I have been to other vets in the area in the past and have noticed no difference in pricing whatsoever. Owning a pet is a responsibility and a big financial undertaking - as well as a sacrifice of your time, energy, and care. That said, if you can't afford it or find going to the vet to be expensive then pet ownership probably isn't in the cards for you and there's nothing wrong with opting out of owning a pet. The other option is pet insurance which can be very reasonable considering the cost of if God forbid something goes wrong. Highly recommend the practice and our dog actually enjoys going there, which is a big testament to how they treat their patients. read more

First I want to start by saying that this is the absolute cleanest veterinary office in the universe! The staff is amazing; very kind, helpful and they all go above and beyond. The doctors are extremely thorough. They always take their time with you and explain every detail. I had to unfortunately euthanize my beloved cat and they bring you to a beautiful room with couches to spend your last moments together. Then instead of administering the injection in some cold and sterile room they do it in that same beautiful room so that you and your pet are as comfortable as possible. I really can't say enough. Best Friends has been treating 3 of my fur babies for about a year and a half now. The entire staff has always been so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They always call for updates on my pets. They helped me get my 2 puppies through all their vaccinations. They've also treated their injuries/illnesses and I've never had one complaint about them. More recently, Dr. Shuman began treating my elderly cat. She eventually needed teeth removed and he took everything into careful consideration before going through with the procedure and is still helping me navigate through all the post-op stuff. Performing these types of procedures on older cats can be challenging but honestly I'm just very glad that it was Dr. Shuman who we ended up working with. He has been so helpful and he has constantly checked in on my cat since the procedure. He really cares about the animals that he works with and it shows. I'm very particular about what vets I use and had left my last vet about a year and a half ago after a very bad experience. I am so glad that I switched to Best Friends. I wish I could give them 100 stars. I have had cats my whole life and never met a vet I really liked until now. They gave me an emergency appointment for my cat that had pink eye. First their office is AMAZING!!!!! I was blown away. They have organic snacks and refreshments. It is clean and does not feel like a vets office. It's bright and upbeat not dreary and depressing. And best of all they have a play area for kids. My son sat the table and played. It was great for me because he was quiet and happy. The staff is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! They are all sweet and compassionate. The Dr. was so awesome and professional. She explained things in a way that was easy for me to understand. The prices are the BEST!!! This is the first time in 31 years of having cats that I did not have my wallet toyed with by guilt. These doctors are in it for the animals not the $$$$. The staff there is so kind and caring. Today I was so nervous to take my dog there because I would have my one year old with me and the thought was overwhelming. They are honest, sincere, knowledgeable and innovative in their approach to veterinary medicine. From the moment you walk through the door, you are greeted with smiles. Staff is always very friendly and caring. Place is kept spotless. Dr. Lieberman was patient, knowledgeable and answered every single question I had. For this visit my 7 year old dog Scout had a terrible case of diarrhea that had lasted over 4 days. After explaining all the possibilities Dr. Lieberman recommended a less expensive/less invasive approach. Long story short, Scout is feeling much better and I did not pay a fortune. I paid way too much to have my cat spayed there. I had my other cat spayed at a different local vet and it was $150.00 cheaper. I searched far and wide for a good vet who wasn't going to scam me for money, try to fool me with unnecessary tests, or give my baby anything but the best care. The vets will literally take their time, sometimes even getting on the floor to play with your dog. The front desk employees are all knowledgeable, friendly & won't have you leaving confused if you have any questions regarding your animals care. They call to check on your animal if they had surgery & even when I had to visit an emergency vet overnight. I am so so happy with this group! The Dr.s & the techs have that special something when dealing with my dog! And the office staff is very helpful & friendly! There are vets closer to me & I've tried a couple of them but this place is where I feel my dog gets AAA care. He's had TPLO surgery last year & they took such great care of him & were so thorough and explained in great detail all my options. They patiently answered all my question about this surgery! A little over a year later (now) it seems the other leg is possible going! Hoping not though! Of course it's Saturday night & Vet is closed until Monday! But not with this group!! I left a message on their phone & within no time the DR. tried to reach me on not one but three #'s they had for us. We were out at a party & didn't hear our cells but got there message when I returned home & sent them a text back at 9:30pm. Dr. answered back right away. They wanted to leave some meds for me at their office to help my dog with the pain but I already found some I could use until Monday.
