I've been to ALL my local thrift stores, this is the worse one....the quality of goods is horrible. During the winter they have buckets in the isles catching water from a leaky roof...makes the store smell like moldy water, gross.... It's a shame cause it's location and size are perfect. read more

Today the shop was very neat, clean and organized, so was very pleasant. I highly recommend they organize the clothing by size, however, not color. I tend to go to thrift stores, for clothes, at least, when they label by size, like Ecothrift. I don't have the patience to go throught all the racks. My first time here. Yes, it smells like a thrift store when u walk in, no kidding, everything is used here, that's why. Nobody greeted me, but I didn't expect anyone to. I'm a frequent buyer at Thrift Town in Fremont, nobody has ever greeted me but I'm fine with it! Workers weren't rude nor did they help me. They were doing a great job maintaining the store. I just feel sorry they cannot speak in their mother tongue, Spanish, because customers weren't happy with it. I used to live in a very multi-cultural city and I'm used to hearing people on the street speaking in different languages. Spanish, Italian, POrtuguese, Armenian, Russian, Chinese, vietnamese, Hindi, etc, you name it. It doesn't bother me to hear someone speak in another language. The poor hispanic ladies now cannot talk to their coworkers, whereas, the English speaking workers can chit chat their way while their doing their job. I doubt the hispanic ladies speak enough English to talk to their coworkers in English, so why force them to keep their mouths shut? The cashier was super nice. She explained to me they have 50% off everything on Weds from 9am to 1pm, and the color tags that are on sale that change every week! She said thank you, and have a good day, and hope you will come back soon on my way out. I didn't' see any creepy looking worker. Probably I respect them for making a living and getting a pay check with dignity. It's a thrift store that helps ppl in need. (paraphrasing the phrase Goodwill has in every store, I don't quite remember it completely! ) Why am I rambling like this? My point is, IT'S A THRIFT STORE!!! NOT STANFORD MALL! Even the sales reps at Stanford Mall don't' always greet customers with a big smile, let alone workers at Thrift Center who maybe getting minimum wage! Took a deep breath..... Now onto the deals I found: I found a Romeo and Juliette Couture dress, Pumpkin patch girl's dress, and Halogen cardigan, all for 9.89! I had no clue everything was 30% off on the weekend! All in like new condition! Wished the organize clothes by size. It wasn't fun going through every piece of clothing on the rack. I was highly disappointed to see something cute but to find it wasn't my size. There were good brands like, Ann Taylor Loft, DKNY, Lucky brand jeans(too expensive though), Bebe, Halogen, Juicy Couture, Express, etc. But you had to dig dig dig. Pricing isn't that cheap though. Some dresses and sweater were going for $10.99 and they weren't even high end brands. I'd never pay for anything at a thrift store for $10.99, I might as well go to Ross or Marshall's. Toys section didn't offer much. At least not when I was there. There were a good amount of electronics, furnitures, and shoes. I still prefer Thrift Town and Eco Thrift, because of the organization by sizes not by color. I'll probably come back on Weds morning for their 50% off mornings! read more

It's a thrift store people, of course it smells like old stuff. Get over it. The staff is friendly, the selections is great. Lot's of bric-a-brac, furniture, funky cushions and more. They have sales every weekend and are good at keeping the lines moving. This is the best thrift store in the area, Eco Thrift sucks, it's overpriced and full of wanna be hipsters. I normally only come here to browse through the books but I've been on a craft and diy project frenzy lately and wanted to see if there was anything that would inspire new ideas. I came last Wednesday and it was crazzzzzzzyyyyy busy. Now, parking normally doesn't suck but the lot was full and I had to squeeze my car into the only open spot I found. Just FYI, the parking spaces are abnormally narrower then most places and it becomes a VERY tight spot when one double parker causes everyone else to have to double park just to fit. When I came in, there was a long line and people everywhere. Turns out, there was a 50% off clothing and furniture sale until 1pm. I immediately went straight to the furniture section and found a chair that I've been searching for to upholster. The tag said it was only $12. I was so dumbfounded by how low the price was that I grabbed a worker to put a "sold" sticker on it for me. When I went to pay, all I paid for the chair was $6 since it was before 1pm! Yes, you read correctly, $6 for a comfy big chair! That completely made my day but in the back of my mind, I was totally paranoid (it reminded me of a The Big Bang Theory episode..eek!). The people here were nice and helped me lug it into my car. Although I came upon an unbelievable deal, I normally don't find anything and usually walk away with just a book or two. The store itself is kinda messy and outdated but if you're a craft junky like I am, then it wouldn't hurt to check this place out. read more

The first day I came to this thrift store I notice the parking lot is not very big especially when your driving a Truck. I park in the street to avoid people banging their car door into my vehicle. When I walked into this thrift store. The first thing that hit me in the face was this sour disgusting vomit smell that just lingers in the back of your throat. Holding your breath was not an option so you just have to quickly walk through the whole store (unless your shopping for clothes) and see what they got. What do you expect? It's a thrift store with a sour smell and farts that linger in the Air. So you have 2 choices you can either deal with the fart smell or go back outside and get fresh air. Next time you see a outhouse or a pit toilet.. stick your nose in there then you will see what I mean. The employees who work here are really friendly.. very helpful and they have some pretty nice things that are old and collectibles. I still think Echo Thrift has all the Thrift Stores Good Will's Thrift towns beat when it comes to Old Collectibles behind the counter.. Their located on Mission Blvd & Harder Road I still have not been to a thrift store that has old stuff like this... This should be called Thrift Center Thrift Shopping Complex! They have a building for clothes/accessories, another building for furniture, and another one for mattresses. 50% off every Saturday! (Okay, I don't know if it is every Saturday, but all the Saturdays I've ever been to this place, it was 50% off.) It is necessary for this place to have that because their items are a little overly priced. I don't feel too bad paying the extra buck or two though because this money actually goes to a good cause, as opposed to the other thrift stores on Mission. This thrift store recently opened, and is in the location of where Eco Thrift used to be. It's a pretty average sized thrift store. I came on a Saturday afternoon, not too many people, but they did have a 30% off everything sale! Unfortunately, I couldn't find ANYTHING good...but it might've been because it's newly opened. Their woman's section is pretty big, but it mainly consists of jeans and shirts, not as many sweaters or jackets, as i would've preferred. I went there looking for a vest for my Halloween costume. I found one, the price was $7. It was pretty ratty. I offered the cashier $5. She said everything was 1/2 off tomorrow. (Halloween is 2 days away). The price TOMORROW would be $3.50. I offered again $5 for the vest. She said no. I asked for it to be held until tomorrow. "we only hold items 1 hour, sorry". So I asked for confirmation that she would not accept $5 today for an item she would be selling for $3.50 tomorrow, to which she said yes. The manager is really rude, I've seen him act different with immigrants, I had quite a few times issues with him but the worst one was when I had seen a table for $200 and I waited a few days till they have 50% off on everything when I went to get it at $100 he said the normal price is $400 and he can do $200 when it had a tag for $200 all week long so I walked back and asked other employees and they all told me it's original $200 but if you buy today it's $100 so I walked back to him to confront him he said he will not sell it to me at all. I did not get the table and I tried to call a different manager and they told me they will get to the bottom of it and call me back. No one ever called me back. read more

I have been shopping at Thrift Center for a long time and my most recent experience was horrible! I attended their Black Friday 50 percent off sale and it was raining extremely hard outside. When it was time for me to pay for my clothes, the actual manager (Melanie) asked me if I needed a bag after ringing up my items and I politely said yes as well as "thank you." I spent $62 dollars (regular price $124 without the discount) and the bag that she placed my nice clothes in had an extremely big hole at the bottom and I definitely do not understand why she didn't see that huge hole! Hell...a blind man would have noticed that huge hole before he placed my clothes in that bag! To be quite frank, I believe Melanie intentionally placed my clothes in a bag with a huge hole just to be spiteful! Some people who work in low paying retail jobs are not always happy with their job and it's quite obvious based on their unprofessional behavior. After I left Thrift Center, I went shopping at other stores and finally (while I was still in my car), I noticed the huge hole at the bottom of the shopping bag that Melanie placed my clothes in and I was very horrified! I didn't notice the hole after I left the store because it was raining hard and the only thing that was on my mind was running to my car so I didn't get wet! I immediately checked my receipt and confirmed that none of my clothes were missing and proceeded to call Thrift Center about my dreadful experience! I would have been beyond pissed off if any of my clothes fell out of the bag and landed on the dirty, wet ground! I was advised by Thrift Center to come back to the store and they would do something to reverse my bad experience. When I arrived at the store, creepy Melanie was still at the cash register and I told her that it was very hard for me to believe that she didn't notice the huge hole at the bottom of the bag she placed my clothes in! She immediately told me in an arrogant, rude, condescending tone that she doesn't understand why I didn't see the huge hole at the bottom of the bag! Her unprofessional, immature response was again a reflection of her awful management skills and I thought it was quite disgusting that she had the audacity to blame me (an innocent customer) for a huge error that she made! Nevertheless, she attempted to reverse my bad customer experience and proceeded to give me a lousy $5 gift certificate for her unacceptable, unprofessional behavior. A lousy $5 gift certificate will not change my negative opinion of Melanie the creep. My advice to the owner of Thrift Center is: Please give Melanie urgent management (customer service) training as soon as possible! Furthermore, I recommend that you hire happy (positive), mature employees who believe in treating loyal customers the way he or she would like to be treated. Your employees are a powerful reflection of your business. Respect and kindness is very important when a customer is spending their valuable money. More importantly, keep in mind that satisfied customers help you to stay in business. Without loyal customers, you will eventually go out of business and I do not believe in patronizing a business who does not believe in treating their customers with respect! read more

Not that dirty / smelly. It's a thrift store! I always use hand sanitizer after I leave any thrift store after touching all that stuff. Well, I went in yesterday. They have a lot of purses that are cheap knockoff's they are selling for outrageous prices LV's for 100$! Something you can get at any flea market for 25$. But the bad part is that they don't care they are trying to fool people by selling these purses at prices that make the untrained eye, think they are genuine. It is morally wrong. The clothing prices seemed reasonable, but over all bad vibes.
