    woman who is transphobic

NOT LGBT FRIENDLY OR OTHERWISE! I've been going here for years and the other day my boyfriend was confronted by a worker. she asked if he "needed anything specific, because this is the women's section" As if it matters what section he shops! Please stay away. You could be singled out for being transgender or just trying to shop. NEVER GOING BACK, RUINED. Picture of woman who said it attached.

Great finds, I found a brand new with tags over the door hanger store price 6.99 they priced it at $3.99 but payed around $1.50 since they had a sale going on. They usually have a lot of sales through the week and weekend, Also donated some clothes and items very kind staff in the back, I will attached donation times.

    The "not an ornament" ornament

Writing reviews for a thrift store is tricky since your experience is largely dependent on the inventory. You can go to a thrift nine times and come out empty-handed, but if on the tenth time you find, say, a vintage, unused Mont Blanc fountain pen (true story) then it's all worth it. There might be buried treasure at Thrift Center, but I will never know because my first trip there will be my only. Customer service here is...lacking. I'm not talking surly, "I'm having a bad day" bad, but the kind of toxic gaslighting that nobody should put up with. After visiting ECOthrift up the road (which I highly recommend), Yelp directed me to Thrift Center. The sign on the front door noted that all Christmas items were 50% off. After perusing the housewares and seasonal items, I found a vintage Christmas swan ornament. It didn't spark any joy for the price tag of $1.99, but at half-off, it sparked enough that I decided to purchase it. While paying at the cash register, it rang up at over $2. Confused, I mentioned how I thought it was half-off. The male cashier "corrected" me and said only yellow and white tags were on sale. I started digging through my purse to find my wallet and then remembered the sign on the front door. Pointing to it, I said, "Sign says half-off Christmas." At this point, he should have acknowledged the mistake and given me the correct price. But, no, this is how the rest of the exchange went: Him: (holding up the ornament) You think this is Christmas stuff? Me: Um, yeah, it's an ornament. Him: (after a pause, he begrudgingly says) I guess I can give it to you at half-off. Seriously?? The sad part is, like I said, the ornament sparked a bit of joy for a buck. Now, every time I look at it, I feel a rush of irritation.

One of my favorite thrift stores in Hayward. So far I've had luck with this place. It's always a hit or miss when you go thrifting. Some days I find things that fall under the color sticker discounts and some days I don't. There are some items I do come by that are slightly overpriced but I get lucky and come back on weekends or when they have 50% on everything. The employees here are nice and always greet me when I come in. Bring your own shopping bag if you can. There is a shortage in shopping bags. I've found many items here this past year. My latest come up with these MCM chairs. $20 each plus 30% off this past weekend on everything. I collect Pyrex and vintage kitchen stuff and find things here and there. I did come by some Pyrex last year but was severely damaged so I passed. I have found cute little aprons for my kids and brand new toys and picture frames too. Overall if you are patience and willing to look you might find something.

Ikea price for pots I found here priced $6.99 each

I do not know how this place is staying in business. The prices here are absurdly high. I was excited to see plant pots here until I saw the prices... they are charging more than double retail?

I really love shopping here. I have always loved thrifting the thrill of the hunt and not knowing…read morewhat you will find. Eco Thrift has NO fitting rooms so plan accordingly. I wear layered clothing or leggings and a slim fitting top. The store is well organized and sections are clearly marked. As with many thrift stores there are different colors marked down every day please listen for the announcements or check the board. I would recommend grabbing a cart because last time I went I found quite a bit and was carrying around my treasures. As with thrifting you never know what you are going to discover. The last time I went I came out with two fantastic finds one a H&M black cotton dress suitable for work wear and take you straight into evening or happy hour. The ruffle tiered dress I admit I paid more than I wanted to but Google came to the rescue and I saw several original retail prices and I found it over $ 100.00 brand new so I decided to splurge and purchase the dress. Service I can't comment on because I usually don't ask for help and there is self checkout available. But I don't know if my last encounter with customer service I should be flattered or insulted. I was checking out my items and the lady that was working at the front thought I was stealing my OWN jacket that I came in wearing! I said this jacket is mine check the cameras I was wearing it when I came in here! All in all a great thrift store but give yourself time because there is so much to look at. I find if I give myself time I find more treasures rather than just rushing through. Also, keep your finds close at hand with the case of the orange ruffle dress after people saw me put it on they were asking if I was going to purchase it while I was trying it on! There were people definitely waiting for me to put it down. Good Luck and Happy thrifting

Called this place, man (Roberto or Jesus maybe some other man?) answered, hello. That's it. I ask,…read morewho is this? He replies, who is this... you called me! I said, I'm calling a thrift store and I don't know if this is who you are. He reply Yes. I said as a business you should say hello this the thrift shop to confirm to people you are a business. He replies, you called me! Rude; after I just explained why he needs to act like a professional and reference the business. I tell him I'm not from Hayward and willing to drive there if you would do a quick look to see if you have any CD players and cassette players for a stereo system, not a boom box. He said he thinks he has some. I explain I am willing to drive if he has some, but don't want to if he doesn't. He say, yes I think we have some. I ask will you please confirm and take a look. He says, I'm pretty sure we have them. I ask how much are they. He says they'er not much. I ask again, would you please check and let me know how much. I see these in other thrift shops for $15-20 dollars. He says his aren't that cheap. I ask how much are yours. He replies more that that. I said that doesn't help me. For Pete's sake, you are not working with me at all on anything I ask. You don't let people know your a business when you answer the phone and argue with them about I called you etc. He is not willing to walk over to physically see if he has a cd or cassette player and not willing to tell me how much he charges. I push him again for a price. He says the CD player and cassette players are over $80 each. I say, that's why I'm asking. I don't want to pay that much. He says his have been gone over and work. I said that doesn't matter to me. What ever shop I buy from, they will take it back if it doesn't work, even at $15. He says I knew you didn't want to spend any money that's why I didn't tell you. I said when someone asks for a price, simply tell them. Don't make drama out of it, that's insulting. Then he hangs up on me. Ask yourself, do you want to be treated this way? Shame on him. He wanted to argue with me about everything. I called him back, of course he didn't take the call. I left him a messaging saying he just earned a negative one star on yelp. You brought it on with you bad attitude. I don' know what position Roberto or Jesus or smoother man? has (answering machine message says she is his daughter leaving the recording. I'm assume it's his business.) It's been along time since I've run into a rude business owner. I've only left one other Yelp review and it was 5 starts. Sorry Roberto, you deserve this review to be read by others.

The owner was super helpful when we were testing the camera. The condition of the camera was almost brand new, I know they put a lot of work into restoring the camera. We ended up buying the camera since it's in really good condition and he even throw in a free camera bag for it. We also bought a couple of DVDs and comic books too. Now, not everything in this place is cheap. The quality of the items they're selling speak for itself. They have quite a selection of stuff like vintage camera, DVDs, kitchen stuff, toys, novelties, stickers, etc.. We had quite a fun time sorting through everything that interested us. I do recommend checking out this place if you're in the area even if you're not buying anything. We will definitely come back when we have time. Thanks for reading my review :)

(aka Union City) I finally had the time to check this place out on my lunch break - given, I was in an instant desire to let go & get my hands off of some fresh kicks (Air Jordan 4 Retro Bred ReImagined - sz 10), that I had bought over a ShockDrop from their Nike SNKRS app hat my homie hooked up for me not too long ago! Don't let that person know, tho! (cuz I will find out! Haha JK) I used to be somewhat 'so much' involved in the shoe game / hypebeast lifestyle growing up.. I remember so much back in high school, with my part-time job in the library shelving books, yet I'd fork over almost my entire paycheck to get some J's... but then, it sorta just stopped once I graduated high school & went to college - up 'til I was gettin' into my early twenties, and had phased out of it & moved on to 'grown man shoes', as my best friend would say back in the day not too many years back. Thank you for being friendly & patient - especially for someone like me not having a peer-to-peer mobile payment app that allows users to easily transfer funds from a linked financial institution account to another recipient - I did have PayPal, tho! I originally bought the shoes at a higher price & offered the , but I wasn't trippin' out since it was only a few dollars difference - and with my side hustle as a musician - can't complain to be 'too blessed to be stressed'. #mindfulmatters I definitely recommend ya'll check this local business when you find yourselves on this side of the East Bay!! Don't say I didn't warn you! Once in awhile, you'll find yourselves craving for some fresh kicks, just wanting to browse on some vintage apparel & footwear & other knick knacks, and/or even getting yourself donned in what's "in" to be "it", cuz you know you just can't stay away from being & looking "fit"!
