A local, small business that's not so hidden, yet it's a diamond in the rough in this part of the Une! (aka Union City) I finally had the time to check this place out on my lunch break - given, I was in an instant desire to let go & get my hands off of some fresh kicks (Air Jordan 4 Retro Bred ReImagined - sz 10), that I had bought over a ShockDrop from their Nike SNKRS app hat my homie hooked up for me not too long ago! Don't let that person know, tho! (cuz I will find out! Haha JK) I used to be somewhat 'so much' involved in the shoe game / hypebeast lifestyle growing up.. I remember so much back in high school, with my part-time job in the library shelving books, yet I'd fork over almost my entire paycheck to get some J's... but then, it sorta just stopped once I graduated high school & went to college - up 'til I was gettin' into my early twenties, and had phased out of it & moved on to 'grown man shoes', as my best friend would say back in the day not too many years back. Like a saying I once heard in my teens, you gotta know where to "deal with the real" AND having done a smooth transaction with Kyle Goudie (the proprietor of this humble abode of a buy/sell/consignment shop) was definitely a foreal, foreal REAL one! Honest, Legit, and Transparent. Thank you for being friendly & patient - especially for someone like me not having a peer-to-peer mobile payment app that allows users to easily transfer funds from a linked financial institution account to another recipient - I did have PayPal, tho! Haha. I originally bought the shoes at a higher price & offered the , but I wasn't trippin' out since it was only a few dollars difference - and with my side hustle as a musician - can't complain to be 'too blessed to be stressed'. #mindfulmatters I definitely recommend ya'll check this local business when you find yourselves on this side of the East Bay!! I've never gotten shoes cleaned professionally and my experience with Sole Scrubs blew my mind. I was about ready to retire both shoes because of how yellow they turned. This place is legit one of the best sneaker stores in the Bay Area. The owner Kyle is really friendly and welcoming and the store itself is always packing heat. Pricing for all the sneakers are fair and they also accept trades for cash and store credit as well. Overall a great experience every time I come here. I've gotten a couple pairs here and sold a couple as well. No issues whatsoever. My brother even scraped a little bit of paint off his shoes and Kyle did the repaint job at no cost. 10/10 store, glad to have him here in Union City. read more

For a city/area that is very densely populated and has many people rocking $$$ shoes, it was surprisingly difficult to find a good place to get your sneakers cleaned in the bay. The few other places I found were out of reach or never responded back to me. Sole scrubs responded to me same day. Kyle took care of my ultraboost S&L that was covered with mud (before photo doesn't do justice). Since the shoe has mesh, suede, and leather, I knew cleaning this shoe would be a little more challenging and require attention to detail. Kyle was thorough and kept it real by letting me know what he recommends and what kind of work he'll do. Thankfully the olive color and the mud color isn't too contrasting, but Kyle let me know the mud might leave discoloration on the mesh. When I picked up my shoes, the shoes were sparkling CLEAN. Even the mesh part was spotless, I swear it looks brand new. The people at sole scrubs are down to earth and I would definitely recommend this place for your shoe cleaning needs!! I brought a pair of toro bravo 4s to these guys while they were in Hayward hills by cal state east bay. When I returned to pick up my shoes, I felt played. The cleaning service they provided was mediocre at best. The work they did definitely made me feel as if I could have done the same work myself. Probably won't be returning here for any of their cleaning services. Don't expect too much from these guys, they're lightweight pricey with sub par results. There are resellers everywhere it's hard business to get into. Everyone is trying to get a piece of the pie as well. As for these guys, they are reasonably priced, they are sourcing shoes for you at a cost. Whenever I run into them or decide to pick something up, they're always quick and responsive. Sometimes the customer service isn't there, but that's what you expect when people aren't use to dealing with the general public. They're still young, but they will eventually learn. A couple years back, I was moving and found a bunch of vintage pieces in an old closet. What's my "trash" is now their treasure! They bought almost all the items I brought including old vintage "bootleg" shirts I wore as a kid (and now the "it" thing in streetwear) and even sportswear pieces that were brand new with tags. Luckily, I was a fat kid when I had these items, so they were in adult sizes thanks to my mom's hoarding in the 90s. I ended up walking out with some cash and a Bape fleece jacket that I really loved. The buyer even took time to explain to me what to watch out for with black or dyed vintage t-shirts to ensure they haven't deteriorated. Usually rot is typical with really old dyed t-shirts that are still brand new and never washed. Goes to show even with shirts, just like sneakers, you need to wear your stuff! Shout outs to the dudes running the shop and congrats on the growth. Their prices are reasonable, but of course, that also affects the payouts because they want to sell their items at more favorable prices than other stores. I ain't trippin' over a few bucks, folks. I don't mind this at all and I want other folks to have a good deal. Support your local businesses, folks! I'll be back to sell some more stuff (and buy/trade). read more

I've had great experience with one of the employees I think his name is Kyle really nice guy when it comes to it. The guys in there are the best. They have great service and is an awesome addition to the community. As a guy who loves shoes. I get lazy to clean my own shoe. It's great to know that I can easily drop off my shoes to them and they'll take great care of them. They also do restorations, and I've brought a couple of my older dunks for them to restore.
