After shopping at this store--forget full price retail! This place ROCKS!!!!! The selection is INCREDIBLE! The size of the store is similar to a department store and it's PACKED with wonderful clothes with great deals!!!!! There is a joy in looking good for less!!!!!! We went for the July 4th 50% off clothing sale and walked out with a $28 bill, a value of $58. Some of the clothes were name brand and still had original price tags!!! I love how inexpensive everything is over there and how they change the prices of certain tag colors every time. Everything is easy to find because they color code each section and label each category of clothing. I know it's a thrift store but I do wish they had more trendy or fashionable clothing there. read more

I love shopping at thrift stores for cool vintage items. The proceeds of most second hand stores go to a good cause, so extra bonus for me to shop . This store was ok, they were organized with their clothing items but their other things are a mess. Also, for a second hand shop, their prices were a bit high, so buyers beware. At the prices they set for their items you are better off buying the items brand new. Lastly, they are a "for profit" company, which explains the higher price point. read more

This is a big store. Prices are a little higher than Goodwill over on Shiloh. The day I was in, lots of kids had been through and it was hard to get down the housewares aisles behind the toy aisles since much playing - and not much straightening up, evidently - had been going on. But selections are plentiful and staff was friendly and helpful. Worth a stop. read more

BEWARE - under new management and they have changed!!! Richardson, Texas store will ring up a product ...even if you have not walked out the door....if it was rang up wrong, mis-priced or you changed your mind.... they will take the excess money you paid as a 'DONATION' or take the merchandise back as a 'DONATION' without giving you any store credit or money in return! HORRIBLE. It makes a person wonder if the store manager is not pocketing the money for herself...saw her take $2.00 from a 3 or 4 year old little girl and then took $15.00 from me! Thrift City is a vast utopia of all things thrift. Clothing is plentiful. Changing rooms are not. I was waiting for a changing room along side another woman. There was a little boy waiting near us. The woman spoke in Spanish to the little boy to coordinate him crawling under the door of an empty changing room to unlock it from the inside, which he did. Ingenuity. Get ready to thrift! read more

This thrift store is great! I read some of the poor reviews and was skeptical but they have a huge selection. We found so many perfect things and they had a ton of shoes which always makes me happy! It was clean, well organized and spacious. I will absolutely go there again! read more

So I did end up coming back a couple times, toys and stuffed animals still priced really high. They had a 50% off for those items only so it was decently priced after the discount. They have a mailing list and you can receive coupons or sale info that way. Their bedding section was nicely organized and their craft section had some great fabric deals, lots of fat quarters. Spotted some adorable vintage figurines and other quality home decor pieces. They seem to only do 1 color tag sale now. This is a good thrift to go to every now and then. I've never left this place with a cart full like I do other thrifts but I still manage to find enough to drop a $20 or less. read more

This afternoon about 2:00p.m March 28, 2016 I was going out taking care of some business with my Chocolate Labrador, training her as a Service Dog after suffering a TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY, Ihad taken her into City Buildings with NO issues today. As I was making my way into the Thrift City thrift stote in Richardson, Texas a2 ladies 2 employees approach me with my dog and allowed me to enter into the store. As I was walking down the aisle from the back of the store the manager a gentleman vocalized and told me that I could not bring my dog in to the store that I had to leave because in his words quote I can't have that in here and we know. Well let me begin by giving this thrift store a little bit of praise, it had a lot of Christmas stuff. Which is what I was looking for in the first place. However, the service was so awful. After digging around for ugly sweaters for 30 min or so I found the one I wanted. Well they had signs plastered all over the store for red tags marked 50% off and .99 cents. Sweet find right! Not! When I get to the register the woman tells me it's not for the Christmas decor. Just clothing. Well wouldn't you consider my Christmas sweater clothing? She proceeded to tell me that it excludes Christmas clothing. Personally I think it's a bunch of crap that they would advertise signs all over the store for the red tag markdown and not include, that it excluded Christmas stuff. The store itself was filthy and reeked of death. I asked to use the restroom and it smelled like someone dropped 10 processed burritos bombs and tried to cover the smell with Apple cinnamon glade spray. I wouldn't recommend you waste your time or money at this hole in the wall thrift store. It's so over priced. $14 for a 15 year old ugly, worn out Christmas sweater? That's just ridiculous.
