I've gotten a number of bouquets from Thrifty over the years and have never been disappointed. Always colorful, fragrant, and last for a decent amount of time. My husband says the price is reasonable as well, so I'll take his word for it! read more

I ordered flowers for my mothers service specifying 6 white roses, daisies, & baby's breath. They stated the arranger was great & would add more white flowers with lots of green filler. The presentation was okay but missing a rose so I gave one star. Upon changing the water I discovered 3 lilies, 5 not 6 white (old) roses, 4 stems daisies, 6 carnations, 3 broken pieces of baby's breath with a bunch of short green filler. All of these pieces barely reached 1/2 way to the bottom. The baby's breath was stuck in at the top. Only the roses & 2 lilies were tall enough to reach the bottom of the vase. The other flowers & greenery were jammed in to give the appearance of equal height. $100, for subpar work. Never again! read more

The recipient never received the delivery. I phoned twice and was told that they couldn't find the delivery address. I gave them the address and when I called the 2nd time, the sales representative got pretty sparky with me by repeating the directions I had verbally gave them originally. Never again. The delivery was for a birthday bouquet to be sent January 19th 2025. It is now the 21st. Order canceled. The sales rep sounded annoyed and promptly hung up. No apologies what so ever.​ read more

THRIFTY FLORIST missed my delivery... I ordered flowers for my morning delivry on my wife's birthday...got a confirmation email, all good. On the day of delivery-- NOTHING. When I called in early afternoon to double check THRIFTY said they tried to deliver but didn't leave the flowers cuz noone answered the door. We were home. We have a loud dog, no call recorded... NOTHING. Best they offered was to deliver the day after the birthday. Not great service. read more

I have ordered flowers from this Thrifty Florist for years. My parents were celebrating their wedding anniversary. I wanted to get my mom a corsage to wear for the celebration we were having for them. Her original wedding bouquet was made of daisies I thought this would be nice and easy to make into a corsage. I first went in on Friday evening around 6pm to order. The first thing the lady said when I walked in was her nor the gentleman working could help me because they were new and the designer had left already for the day. I asked if they could just take an order for me. They were real unsure but figured it out. They had me look at a book to get an idea of what I wanted I found a daisy hand corsage the price in the book was listed at $13.00 and some change. They rang it up and it rang at $16.99 for a $18.01 total. I did not say anything because I thought maybe prices had increased since the book was made. I let them know I needed it to be able to be pinned on so it would not get in the way while she was eating . On Saturday morning I walked in to get the corsage they brought the corsage out it was really small with three daisy's. It was ok looking but I thought was overpriced for what I got. I asked for pins for it they told me sorry they were out of them. None of them seemed to care at all. The whole experience will lead me not to go back to this florist. read more

Definitely thrifty. Compared to Norton's, Thrifty florist sells roses at a third the price. Norton sells a roses at $60 a dozen, Thrifty is $20. They have a little less flair, but the flowers are still fresh and alive and come out looking and smelling good. Thrifty is priced similarly to a grocery store but has the quality of a normal florist. I don't think I could ever justify going anywhere else for normal flower purchases. Also, the service here is very friendly and helpful, which is always a plus. read more

I am more of a fan of flowers in the garden or potted plants, but sometimes, it's appropriate to get cut flowers, and I don't see why you have to pay top dollar if the cheaper florist will do. I've always had no problem with the quality of flowers from Thrifty. Also, they have some of the best delivery rates around. I once wanted to send a single rose anonymously to a friend who was bummed out about being single on Valentines Day. Thrifty was happy to do it, and for the best rate of the handful of stores in the area that I called. Their delivery rate was even cheaper than another florist that was much closer to my friend's office. read more

I placed an order early Sunday morning, with the understanding it would deliver that same day. Later on Sunday, I received an email stating it would not show up until the following Monday. OK... One day delay not a big deal. Except they didn't deliver the following day, customer service can't help me because they can't locate the order number as it appears on my confirmation email and at this point I'm pretty sure my sick granddaughter Wile out of the hospital by the time anything ever delivered. $163 and all I got was a whole bunch of aggravation. read more

This review is for basic wedding flowers (bouquets & boutineers). I was extremely happy with my experience with Thrifty and the price I paid for what I received was superb! I called thrifty about a month before my event, I was looking for basic - but good looking flowers - at a good price. After looking online everyone else seemed so expensive. I'm not incredibly picky about flowers and knew that most end up looking exhausted after an entire day. I met with their consultant and we picked out all the flowers. They have a variety of 'packages' that if you have at least 3 bridesmaids/groomsmen is the way to go! You can add to the package and customize as needed. For $275 I received my bouquet full of lilies, roses & hydrangeas, 3 bridesmaids bouquets of hydrangeas & roses, 3 rose corsages & 7 rose boutineers. I added one hydrangea to each bridesmaids bouquet and I think that made them look a bit fuller, I also dyed the hydrangeas. The dye for the flowers matches the Davids Bridal colors, so I was able to match the girls dresses. What was also really nice was that they opened at 8am. I could have everything picked up in the morning and didn't have to worry about it. They also offered delivery service, but I decided to just have someone pick up and save the $25. The whole process was painless & professional. I was impressed at how nice everything looked and I don't think you can beat the prices, everything looked way more expensive than what I paid. Came here a few times to buy flowers since it was the closest place to my apartment. I came in a week before Valentine's Day, and asked to get an arrangement made for pickup on Valentine's Day. I don't want to put things to the last minute, so I wanted something to be made ready. This is generally what I've done for all major holidays, and never had a problem at other flower shops. The employee told me that I wouldn't need to make an order, and that they would have more than enough flowers on Valentine's day. They said I could just walk in and it wouldn't be a problem. When I came in after work at around 5:30pm, they were basically out of flowers. I was very disappointed, since my options were limited, and I was stuck buying something from them. If I had just walked in off the street, this wouldn't have been a problem, since it was my procrastination. However, given that they specifically wouldn't make me an arrangement because they would have enough available, I never went back here again. The shop is otherwise in a poor location that is tough to get to. read more

I placed my girlfriend's Valentine's Day gift on February 7, 2013 to be deliver Valentine's Day their driver had the wrong cellphone number for her and the florist never called me to inform me of the problem or when I checked on the delivery status at 1:30p.m. that day.. Their driver was rude towards my girlfriend saying to she refused his call's she asked what number he called he had the wrong number yet he never offer a apologize for the mistake he in turn asked her more question? The delivery arrive 15 minutes before shift ended which is very poor customer service for a per-order and a local delivery.. read more

I recommended Thrifty Florist to my brother and his boys for flowers for his Wife/their Mother's funeral this week. They ordered a casket spray and a wreath to be delivered the morning of the service which was 10:00am Family 11:00 Friends with the service to follow: imagine their horror when they arrived shortly before 10 and there were no flower spray on her casket and no wreath; I also ordered from this place a Sister-in-law wreath and was not there when we arrived either. When I called the shop that morning the person I spoke with was so unfeeling and noncholant about it all she said "Oh yeah they are ready we are just waiting for the delivery guy to come in to deliver them", they did not get to the funeral home until 10:15 which all the family had already arrived and had to view her without the flowers being placed on her casket! Unreal!!! What flower shop has a flower order for funeral flowers and not deliver them? They don't even deserve the one star but that was my only option! Needless to say I will NOT be recommending Thrifty Florist of Ann Arbor in the future!! read more

I needed a couple pretty flowers to take to a pair of grieving friends who had just lost their cat to a horrible long term battle with cancer. It was a very sad day. I stopped at Thrifty Florist really quickly to grab something pretty - the staff was very nice and understanding... They happened to be in-between shipments that day and didn't have the first 2 kinds of flowers I asked for, but made me a lovely little bouquet (in the vase I had brought with me) with what they had at the time. I thought the little flowers were so nice and pretty... The clerk claimed that they were not the freshest (looked fine to me) and she ended up insisting that I take them for *free*. ...and even added a little bow. It was so nice of them to do that.... I didn't see anything wrong with the flowers and would have been happy to pay for them. Sometimes it's the little things - this happened a few months back and it still makes me smile. I see all these people hating on FTD and 1-800-flowers - just keep it simple and shop local! read more

Angela Harms designed and coordinated the flowers for my daughter's wedding last week. The results were extraordinary! The colors were brilliant and everything was fresh. Everything from the boutonnières to the bouquets was great. The centerpieces were my favorite. They truly brought the level of elegance that I wanted to add to the setting at Cobblestone Farm. At the last minute we asked Angela to bring in additional plants at the ceremony, and she was not only agreeable to the request, but excited to help my husband in planning the concept he created. Even the day before the event, Angela was contributing ideas to improve the arrangements. She and her team are truly talented in their craft. The Ypsilanti store recently supplied flowers for my daughter's wedding. The two venues (wedding and reception) were miles apart, and I wouldn't get to the reception hall until after the guests did, so I was more than concerned about the look at the hall. The store arranged for separate deliveries for the bridal flowers at the church, and set up the table arrangements at the reception. Both were FANTASTIC. I should not have worried in the least about the reception. The bridal flowers were fresh, beautiful arrangements and the table decorations were outstanding. Everything was reasonably priced, and Linda was great at providing great options at our price point. Would definitely recommend...in fact, I'm going back today to purchase flowers for my mothers 90th birthday. read more

I ordered a red, white and blue table arrangement with hurricane glass and a candle to place on the table with my husband's ashes at his "home-going celebration" service. I ordered them from Thrifty Florist on Carpenter Rd, Ypsilanti, on October 13. Today is October 20, and the flowers look as fresh today as they were when they delivered them a week ago. Laura took the time to sit down with us several times, just to make sure she understood exactly what we wanted--and she delivered! Friendly, professional, GORGEOUS flowers, and exactly within budget. I ordered flowers in a specific vase I picked out for my fathers memorial. While at the memorial I noticed the flowers looked strange, and top heavy. The reason the flowers looked strange was because the flowers where squished into a generic vase. Needless to say I was very disappointed. I called Thrifty Florist, told them them what happened. They said they would credit my card 15%. When checking my account on line I notice they took 15% out of my account! I called Thrifty Florist and was told they would have a manager call me to next day. No call. I went to Thrifty, and they credited me what they took out, but not the original amount they were suppose to credit me. While "CREDITING" my account for the original credit, once again they took out another 15%. The manager said she was going to call me on Wednesday to make sure it got fixed, it is now Friday still NO call. It's been almost 2 weeks of dealingThrifty Florist. I now have my 15% in my account. I'm not even sure that covered the cost of the vase. At every turn they messed everything they we're suppose to take care of. Only one good thing I can say, the flowers were pretty, squished but pretty. read more

I ordered a $70 (+$10 delivery fee) Peace Lily for a 11am funeral at the Nie Family Funeral home on Liberty in Ann Arbor. I arrived early to see if the plant had arrived (it hadn't). I spoke to one of the funeral home employees and he asked had I looked in the entire sanctuary because they place arrangements thruout the room, after doing this (with the employee) the plant was not there. A female employee asked for my name (I gave her my receipt) she said she would call and find out where it was. She came back (mind you the ceremony hadn't started yet) she came back and informed me that they (Thrifty) had or was taking it to the Capenter location but they would be there (Liberty) shortly. The funeral was over about 12:15ish I approached the same female and asked where was the plant because I wanted to make sure the family received it. We looked in their flower room (nothing was brought in the sanctuary during the ceremony) and the plant was still not found. On my way back home to Warren MI I phoned Thrifty myself (12:20p) and the female that answered (I believe she said her name was Carla) she said she would check into it and call me back. She called back within minutes and informed me that the plant had been delivered 10 minutes ago (which would have been when the ceremony was ending). I called the funeral home but an answering service answered took my information and I'm still waiting on a callback. Horrible experience on a heartbreaking day, I would not recommend this location to anyone. Ever. read more
