Found this wonderful Thift Store going through Facebook. Very Helpful and friendly employees. One of the days I was there pulled my heart strings I overheard the manager talking to someone who was living in not a good situation she said let me make a call. She came back to the customer and said I talked to vice president, and she said your bill is all set for today. Not only do they care for Animals, but they make sure members of the community are cared for as well. The Manager Christine was so kind to make that happen it touched me how she truly cared deeply about the customer's that come in. I am adding this due to how someone has been saying unkind things about the shop and the manager, and I believe it's a personal attack because they know someone who just quit. The Shop is small but don't let that fool you they get many cute and wonderful things. I come in weekly and just love the place glad I found this little spot of heaven. read more

This place is awesome. It is a small thrift store, the photo is a little deceptive. They had a good selection of household items. The proceeds go to the humane society so why wouldn't you want to shop here (unless you are heartless and hate animals). There is a lady who donates plants, she loves these plants and on the one I bought gave very careful watering instructions. my husband bought a CD for $1 and they had a really cool serving dish (sorry you can't have it because I bought it). You better check this place out next time your on 29 in Amherst, VA. read more

Thrifty Paws is your typical thrift shop, nothing exceptionally spectacular. It appears to be well-organized, with easy to access inventory. There is a diverse selection of things from house ware items, clothing and books, to pet-related items as well. Inventory changes often, so it's best to just stop in and see what they have. Prices are a little on the high side for a thrift store, but the proceeds go to the Amherst County Humane Society. It's a pretty small shop, but they make the best of it. Expect to pay the price that is marked -- they do not bargain. read more

I love Thrifty Paws!! All the proceeds benefit The Humane Society of Amherst County and what is better than cheap stuff that helps homeless animals?!? I disagree with the previous poster about the prices being a little high. They actually have some of the lowest prices as far as thrift stores are concerned, I usually make a donation because they are so cheap. Be sure to say hi to Paws, the black and white kitty who is the store mascot. She loves attention and is usually hanging out inside or out front! Keep up the good work, Thrifty Paws!! read more

Love Thrifty Paws! A little bit of everything with inventory that can change frequently. Sorry, Dan M, but I have bought some Spectacular things here! A beautiful rug for my living room, an original landscape oil, and a pair of the most awesome, Art Deco style lamps - not to mention the very reasonably priced pieces of mid-century dinnerware. Do they have items like this every day? Of course not. But, I rarely leave empty handed and the changing inventory is a good reason to keep going back. I LOVE Thrifty Paws!! I've been there 3 times thus far and have purchased every time! Found some great items that I put to immediate use! I also have a friend who is losing weight, went there and purchased some "transition" clothes and was thrilled about what he got. It looked brand new but was cheaper than a well known thrift store! The greatest thing about Thrifty Paws is that 100% of the profit from what they sell goes to help the Amherst Humane Society.
