Thrill Bikes came to our house to work on some bicycles we borrowed from my parents. The brake cable needed to be replaced on my dad's bike and my mom's bike was low on air from sitting in the garage. In our neighborhood, there are plants that drop pods during the summer months. Once these pods dry they crack when stepped on leaving sharp edges. Between the pods and random pieces of broken glass, we filled the tubes with something equivalent to slime and got tune ups. The pricing was fair and there was no pressure to buy any service. We borrowed my parent's helmets and pump too. As I am a novice to bicycles, he showed me how to mount and unmount both wheels as well as how to adjust the brakes so they don't rub on the tire. Afterwards, I went to give my wife some company and before we knew it the bikes were finished. Even though I know how to mount/unmount tires, it would be nicer if we had a bike rack. Maybe if we get more serious about bike riding we'll get one for riding outside of our neighborhood. With Thrill Bikes, the bikes can stay at home while the service comes to us! read more

My baby trend jogger had a bent axle, which was causing the jogger to pull to the left. I called Thrill Bikes to see if they would fix it. They are mobile and came to my home the next day. upon repairing my jogger the axle was too bent to fix at my home, so they took the axle and called the maker. my luck they no longer make that part anymore, but Thrill bikes fabricated a new axle and now I have a working jogger. Jon is an excellent bike repair person! I brought my 1972 Schwinn breeze for him to fix. My husband replaced my stolen bike with this one and we could not figure out how to connect the gear shifter. I wanted to begin riding again after an almost eighteen year hiatus. After living in Denver Colorado for twelve years, doing lots of road and trail biking with two bikes, I had a lot of experiences with bike repair folks. My bike was a decent one to begin with but with back and neck issues, he had some tweaking to do in raising handle bars, getting them at the right angle, etc. He asked me to ride my bike for a few minutes while he watched and then he began his magic. I scheduled to meet with Jon Driver of Thrill bikes and he came all the way to me in Gilbert from Glendale, on a week day! I met him my first time on South Mountain as he whizzes by me and tells me to keep elbows bent down hill at almost 30 mph. Then at a TRI training camp for two hours of bike handling drills last month-absolutely priceless-the things I learned how to do on a bike. We discussed me, my bike, what I want to accomplish and why everything we talked about made sense for me and not just random text book feedback. He spoke from experience and it was personal and he was easy to absorb the info. Why I should leave the bike the way it is now from my prior fitting and what changes to make as I accomplish some of the small steps along the way to becoming a faster and stronger athlete.He even sat down with me to make sure I could change a darn tire, because I couldn't for the life of me do it! Videos just didn't help with actual handling of it all, now it couldn't be easier! Also FYI you don't clean a chain...you LUBE it. I needed repairs on a Trek bike for my son to commute to work. It had a bad brake cable, a broken shift cable and two flats. Jon came across town the next day and gave the bike a complete tune-up, as well as recommending different tires for the pavement versus the off-road tires on the bike. He explained that the off-road tires created drag on the pavement, acting like a brake and slowing the bike down while creating extra pedaling effort. He didn't try to up-sell me; he just gave me the option of purchasing tires better suited for the bike's contemplated use. I opted for the new tires and couldn't be happier with Jon's expertise and the bike runs like a top. His truck is immaculate and well-outfitted, he is both reasonably priced and genuinely helpful.
