The billing department is not actively doing their job in protecting their patients from high out of pocket charges.

My doctor is a dear and was great. I'll miss him terribly but not the awful awful TRIVEWORKS itself. Poor service, response, communication. They sucked which is why I quit. Dang. I really liked my doctor. read more

I was recommended to her directly from another client who is a friend that had used her services for pre-marriage counseling and raved about her skills and temperament. Having never been under a therapists care, I was nervous and didn't know what to expect. My marriage was failing and I needed help. Susan was so disarming and has been a person my wife and I both look forward to seeing each week. We are into our third month and I can comfortably say that I would not be succesful today without her. This is the worst company I've ever seen!!!! I was on the phone 43 min, 3 departments, 4 different people trying to AGAIN cancel the 'monthly fees'. I am not and have not been a patient yet they charge my cc monthly anyway. I went one time for a consultation and they could not help me. That was a year ago in August. Susan is far and away the best counselor I've talked to in years. I started going to Susan a little over 8 months ago and she's been such a life saver. She's kind and open hearted, welcoming and easy to talk to. The lessons and tools I've learned from her have been exceptionally helpful in combating the long ingrained issues I deal with. I found I could go in and just start talking without feeling judged, unheard, or invalid. Her approach to therapy is grounded in real neurological and behavioral science, which was a instant win for me. With some past counselors, I've often been put off by vaguely new age "feel good" sessions that never sought to address the actual underlying illness. After I've finished relaying some story (or ranting, if need be), she's always helped me see it through the underlying context of my illness. She's helped me to identify why I reacted or interpreted something in a certain way, and how to catch myself from repeating those thinking traps. Susan's given me the tools to identify certain modes of thinking and to break out of them - something I've never been able to do on my own before. The impact on my life (and my family's) has been immeasurable. The difference between how and I am now and the way I was before is so stark that it's almost like I was living in a different reality. I'm thankful to Susan for her help and I'll continue to recommend he to family and friends. read more

I have had a very poor experience with Susan, as a counselor for my precious child. Susan is very empathetic, and that is part of the reason we originally selected her to help our young one through some serious stuff. But, objectively, our little one's behavior and issues have grown significantly worse over the many months with Susan than before. ...And he actually uses Susan to justify his outbursts. I have no doubt that Susan helps people to feel better about themselves. But I do have serious doubts in her ability to help someone with significant cognitive distortions to sort those out! Please, be aware, there is something not right here! There was also some kind of falling out between Susan and her previous group, Thriveworks, and I'm not sure if that is just another sign of something wrong here. read more

My therapist was good but the support team is terrible They were not clear about thier billing and were charging me 250 per session and 400 for an intake interview when I had previously been a patient. I have been seeing Rhonda Griffin and it has been such a healing journey for me. I have seen plenty of therapists over the past 20 years and I can honestly say that this entire experience with Thriveworks has been such a blessing. I recommend Thriveworks Counseling to anyone and make sure you ask for Rhonda if what she does fits your situation. I found this office when I was in pretty bad shape. Susan Wills is amazing. This was my first time doing counseling. I was so nervous about talking to a stranger about my feeling and issue. Some how Susan made all those feels fade away. By the end of my first appointment I knew and felt that Susan truly cared about my issue and wanted to help me over come them all. She is easy to talk to and gives such a positive energy you can't help but take it all in. I am so blessed and thankful to have found Susan. I had a horrible experience with Susan Wills when I went there seeking marital counseling. I had gone to see her because of the great reviews but it turned out very terrible. She was very insensitive to cultural differences, took sides (from her cultural lens) and then passed judgment like we were in a courtroom. Maybe we should have gone to see Judge Judy instead. The situation went from bad to worst. I definitely won't recommend her to anyone with a similar problem as mine. read more

I was seeing a counselor at Thriveworks. Before I saw her the very first time the receptionist told me that they take my insurance and that they were only going to charge me personally $20 a visit. I paid cash but the last time I gave them my debit card number. The counselor then the next day charged my account almost $400 and overdrew my account. They have been trying to collect almost $400 from me for a few months now. I told them to collect it from the person that told me that they took my insurance. They're harassing me now. I should not pay this because I did not cause this bill they did by telling me they excepted my insurance. What a rip off place this is! I wouldn't recommend them to anybody under these circumstances. I didn't get anything out of the counseling in the short three visits I was there. I would have not gone back anyhow. Just wanted to warn people not to believe them when they say they take your insurance because if they actually doubt they're going to debit your account for the amount they want which in my case was almost $400! This place is not to be trusted. Just read the review from the owner of thrive works. What you need to know is that it wasn't that my insurance didn't pay it was that I was told that They take my insurance. Next thing I know my account is overdrawn by almost $400 because they debited my account without my permission. Don't tell somebody that you take their insurance if you don't take it. I am not paying this bill because you guys lied to me or whatever by telling me that you took my insurance. I never ever would've come to your facility if I had known that you did not take my insurance. read more

I went the this past Friday. I do not recommend this practice. I met with Dr. Barbara Corff. She was suppose to do an assessment for me on mental health behavior.After we spoke she said she could not do one as I have not been sober over a week. I was actually sober for 2 weeks and the office manger Andrea never told me I needed a length of sobriety to have this done. After Dr. Corff ended the meeting by telling me to check into rehab, she told me I could use her as a counselor. I had explained I had a counselor already. I had to the office manager Andrea that. I left in distress and feeling more lost than when I went there. A few hours after I left I received a voicemail from Dr.corff that she was concerned for me and she gave me a number to a towing company but said it was for a mental health institute. I called back and left a voicemail and she NEVER called back.. I called Monday and Dr. Corff was not in that day and I spoke with the office manager Andrea. I told Andrea my experience and she reassured me that her supervisor would be In touch. I have not received a call from anyone so I called in today. Another woman answered saying I should have heard from Dr. Corff , I explained had received a voicemail from Dr. Corff apologizing for causing distress and that she is very busy and that I still would like to speak with Andrea or the supervisor. No one has called. I have wasted my time and money on this joke of a practice. Be very careful if you are already down and out, you will not find and hope or guidance here. read more

Horrible. Do not go to see Susan Wills. I had gone to see her because of the great reviews and she was awful. I didn't even finish my session as I stormed out. I told her also that I have never gone to see any counselor and be treated in this way. I explained also that I came in there to get help and not walk out feeling worse than I when I walked in. She made me cry and feel awful the entire time and I had a nervous breakdown. That is not how a counselor is supposed to make one feel. What a disappointment. Do not go and see her she's horrible and two faced. She takes sides and is not neutral. I went in there trying to reconcile with my marriage, not make us want to walk away from one another. Went to a beautiful Open House for my friend, Debbie's 4th Thriveworks location. The office space was modern and comfortable and the office was easy to find but the best part of the visit was meeting the staff who are so upbeat and positive. The diversity of their skill sets cover a wide range of client needs. I could tell that individually and collectively their sincerest goal was to care for their clients. read more

Did not use their service as I called twice to try to make an appointment, which was not an easy or positive process (counselors who are showing available online really aren't, for example, and the person who calls you back isn't very customer-service oriented) and then they wanted me to pay them an initial $99 paperwork fee before ever seeing a therapist - fee is not covered by insurance. I've worked with lots of (good and bad) therapists over the last several years for me and my children. I can't speak for their actual therapists (they seem to get good reviews!) but initially, this place doesn't seem organized or helpful. read more

Thriveworks in Cedar Park is filled with professional, and caring individuals. Kamini is a fabulous clinician who possesses an amazing approach with children. She has a talent at establishing a trusting relationship which truly fosters results. Kamini does a great job putting my child at ease and explains things to her in terms she would understand without making her feel inferior. The only negative point is the difficulty in reaching a person to talk to calling the office. Email seems to be a more effective method of communication. read more
