With 12 step programs it is most certainly a one size fits all approach whereas Nexus uses Smart Recovery which means your recovery is easily modified to fit your individual needs. The staff at Nexus are by far the most caring, respectful and understanding people I've ever met in the field of addiction and it's quite clear that they work there to actually help the patients and make a difference in our lives rather than just looking to collect a paycheck. Not only are the groups here effective but they're very engaging which makes participation in groups by all patients quite natural. Kathy, yanilla, thadine,Odie, Cat, Gladys, Rosalind to name just a few ,the best staff to help you get well on the mend. They all treat you like your someone special.They will push you to get well. This was my 2nd time Rehabing at this facility, I wouldn't want to go anyplace but margate. The best in Rehab . Next are the aides that take care of all your other needs. They are the best. Cleona, Rose, Ruth, Lora, to name a few. They treat you like your Special, The best . Cleona ,the best .The nurses take care of all your meds,great group of ladies. My sister was a patient at Margate Rehab for 28+ days. The care was top notch from the Nurses to…read morethe CNAs to the PTs and OTs to the Dietary staff. My sister is mentally-challenged and everyone treated her with great respect and caring. The nursing staff came in at each shift change, introduced themselves and asked her if she needed anything. They came around several times during the day and evening to refill and refresh water. My sister loved all the food but the portions were often so large that she only ate half. PT and OT addressed all her issues and needs so that she could come home and not go to a nursing home. She is doing well now at home and even climbs the stairs only using the handrail - one of the goals. Be sure to treat the staff with gratitude and the way you would like to be treated. I would like to give a special shout out to CARLINE LOUIS JOSEPH. Every day she went above and beyond. She always had a kind work for my sis. She tightened the sheets on her bed every time she was in her wheelchair. She didn't just deliver the meal trays, she took the time to set everything up so it was easy to eat. She helped with her TV. And much more. Everyone who cared for my sister was great but Carline was a stand out.

I understand that no facility is perfect, and some hiccups are to be expected, but a few issues made her stay more challenging than it needed to be. Unfortunately, her dentures were lost on the first night, which created a significant hardship. Without teeth, she was unable to eat most meals, and the puréed food provided was thick and honestly unappetizing. I ended up bringing her soup each evening so she could eat comfortably. What stood out most was the clear difference between what felt like an "A team" and a "B team." When V, Jennifer, and Mark were on duty, my mother was well cared for--knowledgeable, attentive, and personable. Other staff members seemed less experienced and less warm. The facility is clearly understaffed; while some aides were wonderful, others were not particularly kind. Cora was an absolute doll, but she had far too many patients and not enough support. Teri, the concierge, was truly five-star. Any issue we raised was addressed promptly and professionally. The rehab team--both PT and OT--were amazing and are the primary reason we chose this facility in the first place. They exceeded expectations. Areas for improvement include staffing levels, consistency of care, cleanliness, and food quality, which was mediocre overall. With more support and better oversight, this facility has the potential to be much better, especially given how strong some members of the team truly are.
