the dentist did a good job but this place is a rip off. wanted to get a cleaning which my insurance covers but they would NOT do it unless I paid another $247 for another exam, then another appt with a hygeninst to tell me if i needed a regular insured covered cleaning or the $2500 "Deep Cleaning" which guess which one they recommend? lol a joke. I went through the same scam at another dentist in lake havasu. its like taking your car for a car wash and being told you need a new engine, trans and break job. This dentist office is very clever to extract not only teeth but your pocketbook. I went in for a cleaning and was rudely told that if I didnt have a 1600.00 deep clean I could not come back. I had a deep clean in Mexico the year before but that didnt seem to matter to them. I went back for my second free cleaning as I get 2 free a year thru Humana. I received a bill for 149.00 for a fluoride treatment I never asked for or was told I was getting. Then they rebilled the second cleaning as periodontal maintenance so the insurance would not pay for the cleaning, the office informed me it was a more detailed cleaning. The cleaning was no different from any other cleaning. This office will do what ever they feel to get money from you. They are rude and overcharge. I will take my business elsewhere! read more

My daughter has went here twice. She had an appointment today and Kristin the receptionist cancelled her appointment because she said my daughter did not confirm. My daughter never received a confirmation phone call nor a confirmation text. The only text she received was a reminder text at 8:00am today that she had an appointment at 10:00am today. Kristin was extremely rude to my daughter and kept talking over her. I even called and Kristin was extremely unprofessional with me as well. I also asked Kristin for the dentists email and she said he doesn't have one. I don't know very many professional people who don't have email accounts. Oh man. I must have the worst luck in places. Back in Feb I got a root canal done and got fitted for two crowns. Well, for the root canal they gave me some kind of pill that was supposed to make me not remember the procedure. Well that kind of worked. While under this pill sedation I was experiencing problems. Which wasn't their fault but the dental assistant never should have told me to breathe deeply to "trick the machine" that is skeevy. I was hooked up to a (blood pressure?) machine where they slip one of those clampy things on your finger. Well, after awhile I got too tired and just breathed normally. Apparently I was having a really bad reaction to the stuff and the next thing I know the dentist assistant is telling the dentist that hey, something is wrong. Well, duh lady! So, the dentist puts some kind of shot in my arm and I am out again. This is all fine and dandy since he caught it and tried to fix it. Now, the suck? They didn't tell my husband that anything went wrong and told him I'd be fine. I wasn't. First thing I did when I got home was throw up like I had been drinking all night. I was dizzy as hell and threw up the whole entire day. My husband didn't know what to think but I wish he would've been given a heads up about what had happened. I was too sick to even move or talk. I was pretty much face to toilet for the next 12-14 hours. Two days later I called the dentist and asked why that would happen. They said they had no idea and that I was the first to get a reaction like that. I paid 300 to throw up all day long. Awesome. Cue a month later. They were trying to put in my crowns--I had been wearing temps. The dental assistant started pulling out the temps with NO Novocaine. It hurt like hell and I told her. She kind of sighed and had the dentist give me some Novocaine. They got one in but the "lab" messed up the other size on one of my needing a crown tooth. Great. So they took another molding of my tooth and stuck in another temp. By this point I haven't chewed on my right side in two months. Cue now. The third month. I called a few weeks ago complaining of horrible pain where they put one of the crowns. Well, too bad for me they didn't have any dentists for TWO WEEKS!!! Seriously? I smothered that ora-gel stuff all over my tooth because it hurt so bad. I was shocked since I had an appointment the next week but nope.... Sorry everybody was gone. I called up Jennings and Larson's and they said they would take me but the lady (who was so nice and informative) told me that since I was already in the middle of someone Else's work it would be cheaper for me to stay with them. I get what she meant--she actually cared enough to save me money! I am transferring there asap!! So, they set me up an appointment with their sister dentist place. Crossroads or whatever. I had to have horrible pain for another week. Cue the day before my appointment at this place. I get another call and they canceled on me again!! It's been over three months since I've chewed on my right side of my mouth. FINALLY they kept one appointment and yesterday I finally got the goddamn crown in my mouth. Gee thanks. Thank you for taking three months to do two crowns!!! Really?! Dr. Baird's office is on my never to go to again list. I am done. And my teeth still feel funky but I don't think going back there would solve anything. Wonderful. FAIL!!! read more

This dentist hit me with a bill for $71.00 today. KEEP IN MIND THAT THE CARD SAID $59.00 FOR CLEANING X_RAYS AND EXAM.. They stated I came in with toothache on lower right hand side.. I had no pain just wanted a cleaning. They handed me a sheet stating I needed $2037.00 worth of work done. I got a second opinion from another dentist in Bullhead City and he said I did not need half those procedures done.. His cost was $555.00 for everything. This Thunder Mountain also charged Humana insurance. Beware of this place. The other dentist had more up to date X-RAY EQUIPMENT. I STILL DID NOT RECEIVE EVEN A REGULAR CLEANING FROM THUNDER Mountain. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO EXPRESS MY OPION ON YELP BEFORE BUT THIS NEEDS TO BE SEEN. I originally had my first appt. October 29th. My appt was at 11am, which I showed up 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork like they'd asked. I then waited from 11 until 1215 to see someone. They took xrays, by that time it was 1230. Then they said the hygienist would measure my gums and do my exam and then the dentist would see me. I waited another 25 minutes in the back without anyone saying a word. I finally got up and left after 2 hours of waiting. I rescheduled for today at 2 to give them another chance and waited another 30 minutes before they told me it would be another 20 minutes and rescheduled me a third time. I am not one to complain but this is horrible. No one on their select few days off wants to deal with this without even the customer service to try and make it right. Watch out they will charge more than quoted every time . I have Humana insurance and they cover a simple cleaning twice a year and x rays I think once a year I was just in and told they I do not want to pay anything out of pocket they said ok after the cleaning and xrays I was charged $23 I payed they said it was for xrays than I got a bill in the mail for another $40 I called the removed the charge but this happened six months ago and 1 year ago than it was $68. Also thea will give you a dental plan my plan was $5000 it includes removing wisdom teeth that I have had for 60 years and every dentist since I was 12 Years old told me they would be a problem in the future guess what ! She is extremely professional and knowledgeable. The current dentist, Dr. Vogel is also an asset to this practice and hopefully will be there for more than a few years. I am terrified of dentists and have never been to one i liked. I broke a tooth in half and was forced to make an appt. I called Thunder mountain because the website mentioned they had "comfort dentistry" and warned them on the phone i was a coward. Every person in the office went out of their way to be calming and reassuring to me. Dr Vogel listened to me and explained everything she was about to do. if i asked her not to do something because i was scared, she didnt. I ended up having my tooth pulled ( still too scared for a root canal) and it was one of the easiest, calmest, most pain-free trips to the dentist ive ever had ! just incredible bedside manner by the Dr and her entire staff ! i would highly recommend if youre a coward like me. Also, i had no insurance so we agreed on the cost of treatment before it was done. The extraction went a little smoother than they expected so they actually LOWERED the price i had already agreed to to reflect that. read more
