This was a really fun little adventure. The guys running the boat, can't remember main guys name, Alvin was driving the boat, they're fantastic. The energy, knowledge, safety of the passengers, all exceeded my expectations. I'm a nervous Nelly on boats lol or anything with speed and they checked in on me just to make sure I was good. The dolphins were so cool. They knew what to do to get the dolphins to swim along the boat, knew where the were hanging out, stopped the boat so the little kids could get up and join in the fun. Music was jamming when we were cruising along. Every boat we passed Captain made sure to wave hello. We got some history of the surrounding area, about Cape May and Wildwood, saw the roller coasters and other rides. Definitely would come back again. read more

10/10 Recommend . Chrissy and the caption were amazing. Chrissy was very energetic and engaging with everyone on the boat. We also learned great history facts about Cape May and the nearby area. Of course the dolphins were the best part of the boat trip. This tour is great for groups of all ages. read more

I definitely recommend the Thundercat boat ride. Its a nice calm ride for the most part and seems to know where the dolphins are as we saw a lot on our ride! Also, you don't get wet on the ride, which you can decide for yourself if it's a plus or minus, depending on your preference. Britney, our first mate, did a great job sharing tidbits of interesting information. They stop once for folks to be able to buy drinks or snacks as well. My only criticism is that we got there early to get in line and were told we couldn't sit in the back seat, because they reserve it for people with small kids. This was a huge disappointment as a photo enthusiast who specifically showed up early for that coveted back seat (especially when one of the families had a really young child who just slept the whole time). If this is your policy, you should list it on your website so people don't waste their time showing up early. Or you could also consider selling those seats for a small upcharge like the Silver Bullet does. read more

A must do when in Wildwood!! Purchased tickets online and used their web promo code. Paid $30 for adults, $20 for child and $15 for infant. From the Adventurer Oceanfront Inn the ride was about 10 mins. Directions were easy as I used my phone's navigation. You'll see a yellow sign with their name prior to pulling into the lot. Their building check in is also yellow. Checking in was a breeze. We were then guided to the boat which was a slight walking distance. When boarding the boat keep in mind the boat is high, therefore you have to go up a few steps. I recommend arriving early and sitting towards the back for best views and pictures as the dolphins follow the boat towards the back. Yet, no worries, dolphins can be seen even when sitting towards the front. You're allowed to stand and take pictures. The captain did an excellent job driving the boat and getting us to the dolphins. The first mate was great at giving us a tour of wildwood and it's history. Snacks and drinks are sold on the boat. Cash only. Don't forget the sunblock as the boat is open and it does get extra hot on a sunny day in the ocean. read more

If you are hesitant to book this tour, I am here to tell you to just hit that reservation button. Hand's down, this is one of the best experiences to have in all of Wildwood. I was on the fence the night before heading down to the shore--I saw some other tours were less expensive or had coupons to use. However, I also saw they had disclaimers that you may not see any dolphins. I could see from reviews online that people were thrilled with Thunder Cat Tours so the next morning, I went ahead and booked a tour and we headed on down. Captain Al and Ryan were amazing from the beginning. With Captain Al's lifelong experience on the Jersey shore waters and his connections with other captains, he took us on a beautiful tour of the shoreline (while Ryan narrated and gave historical facts along the way). It got to a point that I was not sure if we would see any dolphins and just sat back to enjoy the stunning boat ride, but then, suddenly, a pod of dolphins so numerous I could not possibly count them all, began to put on the most incredible show for us--diving in and out behind our boat. The design of the Thunder Cat vessel as well as years on the water have conditioned dolphins to know no harm will come to them, but a good time will and it all results in a magical, breathtaking display of dolphins diving in and out of Thunder Cat created waves. [734] I'm joining the majority of Yelpers to say this tour was amazing. Booking online saves you $5 per person. If the site says "call for availability" then do it. We did and the time slot was new for the day so our boat was half empty. Our captains were very friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to buy snacks/ drinks on the boat Make sure you use google maps to get directions as our Uber driver dropped us off in North Wildwood instead of Wildwood Crest. We saw tons of dolphins as they loved chasing the boat. The captain was great as he wanted to make sure the kids had the best view We would definitely be back read more

SO awesome!! We loved our Thundercat experience! We have done Dolphin/whale watching tours before, but it was our first time with this one and we will definitely be returning! I've never seen that many dolphins so close up! They love the wake of the boat, so they jump and play right alongside of it and it was amazing to see! Highly recommend for all ages! Well worth the money & highly recommend. Easy reservation process with friendly staff at the counter. We took a 9am tour Monday Aug 8, 2022. We saw soooo many dolphins up close & learned quite a bit about them. The two crew members and boat were better than expected. It was so much fun and we will definitely be taking a ride with Thundercat again! read more

This was one of the highlights of our recent vacation. The entire 90-minute ride was great: the captains show you the US Coast Guard base, the Cape May lighthouse and explain to you how they're getting the dolphins to interact. We also received a discount for renting jet skis from the same location, which was a plus. We would definitely do this again in a heartbeat! read more

What a great trip!!! We took the 1 1/2 hour tour today. Captain Al and the Mate Ryan were great!! They had us in the mix with dolphins within minutes of getting out into the ocean. We had a solid 30 minutes of dolphins playing in our wakes. Then traveled up to northern wildwood. Showed us some interesting stuff up there. Headed back and had another pod of dolphins with us again. I highly recommend this tour!! Boat was very clean and they sell refreshments and chips as well. read more

We had such a great time on our dolphin watch tour!! We arrived early and started queuing up early as we wanted seats towards the back. They do tell people where to sit but kind of save the back row for kids. So my boys sat in the back row and my wife and I were one row in front of them. The boat was clean and the staff very friendly. As soon as we hit the open ocean, we immediately came across dolphins. It wasn't long before he revved up the engine and headed down the shore and multiple dolphins were swimming and jumping in our wake! So many great photo ops!! We continued down the shore and came across some more dolphins down in Wildwood, and off we went again with more dolphins swimming and jumping next to our boat. Once we got to our furthest point, we stopped and they served up drinks and snacks before making our way back. The ride back was not as exciting as the ride down but the captain and his friend entertained and educated us throughout the trip. The boat also played music throughout the trip. An absolutely great time and we can't wait to do it again!! read more

When ordering tickets I thought it was expensive, but after going on, it was definitely worth the price. For over an hour you get to not only see dolphins but also get a tour of the whole length of the Wildwoods beaches. It was a terrific boat ride and you really get very close to the dolphins! The food on board is also excellently priced compared to other attractions, I was expecting an arm and a leg. This is a great time and a must-do in Wildwood! read more

We saw tons of dolphins. The ride was great and the captain and crew are very entertaining. Unfortunately, we ended up going on a chilly, dreary morning but they still managed to find dolphins and get them to "perform" for us. We will definitely go back and pray for a sunny warm trip! read more

Took my mom & brother over fourth of july weekend. Didn't know what to expect, but what I was got was AMAZING. The guys on the boat were so fun and we saw so many dolphins. In addition to the standard waivers you have to read and sign, there is another safety sheet you have to read and sign down on the dock. Once it's time to go, they load you up on. jet ski and then go over all the safety rules, how to operate the jet ski, etc. They really emphasize the safety aspects and you don't want to crash one of these things, as they are very expensive to repair. Once you go through all of this, they help push your jet ski off the floating platform, you hit the start button, and you slowly make your way out to the bay in a single file line following the instructor. Once out there, there are buoys that mark the area (basically a large rectangle) that you can ride in. Everyone has to ride in a single direction (counter clockwise for us). Because it was just the three of us, they did say we can go into the middle of the rectangle and do what we wanted. These things can go up to 54mph, but I only got it up to 39mph before I felt like I was going to lose control of it. One or more instructors stay out there with you the entire time, ensuring you are being safe and helping out if needed. After about 45 minutes out there, you head back to the dock, again, in a single file line. The hardest part is parking your jet ski back onto the platform but someone is on the dock to assist, but we saw people in the previous group take 2-3 tries to finally park it. All in all we had a great time and our instructor was very friendly and helpful. It's to recommended to wear hats and if you have glasses, they recommend having a strap on them. You can leave your car keys at the front desk. There is a tip jar down on the dock, or you can leave a tip at the front desk as well. Would definitely do this again the next time we are down at the shore!

If you can only do one activity this summer, you must go on the Thunder Cat Dolphin Watch! Captain Al and Ryan were amazing! Captain Al expertly maneuvered the boat while Ryan both entertained and educated us! This young man's knowledge was unlimited. We learned alot about dolphins but we also learned so much about the history of the area. Even my grandsons, ages 7,6,and 3 were captivated by what Ryan was telling us. (Ryan... you were right about Sam's Pizza! We took your advice!) When you go on a tour like this you hope to see a "few" dolphins, but with Captain Al's skills and having Ryan to guide us, we lost track of how many playful dolphins we saw. Wow what a ride. The captains are a bunch of real sea freaks. They know where all the dolphins like to chill. It's a dolphin party once the Thundercat rolls up and to quote the homie Prakash "the dolphins are jumping on joy." I recommend everybody to take a spin in the Thundercat hell even grandma can get her kicks out in the open water. It's A Must When You Get A Hankering For Some Bottlenose buffoonery. read more

I've never reviewed a business before but this was such an amazing experience that I had to! Krissy and Captain Al were wonderful. Knowledgable about the history of the area and lots of fun as well. We had a great time on the Thundercat! We went on the dolphin watch twice this summer, and both times we saw dolphins as soon as we got out on the ocean. Captains Al and John are great! The trip is worth every penny, and 90 minutes is a perfect amount of time! I would definitely recommend the Thundercat to anyone looking for a dolphin watch at the shore. read more

We went this morning on the 9am trip. There was so many dolphins and even baby ones. My kids had a ton of fun and there was a great view of the dolphins. Definitely a must do if you want to see dolphins. We will definitely be back when we want to see dolphins again. read more

Amazing! Took some time to find dolphins but once we did, there was a dolphin party! Really enjoyable ride with awesome boat captains. My family, especially our 5 year old, had a lot of fun and would totally ride the Thundercat again. 5 stars! read more

Last minute decision to come to Cape May…read more Jumped online and found a reasonable charter at the last moment. Worked out perfectly on a Thursday afternoon. Just the two of us picked the option for fishing. 1pm time. Read the tips to show up an hour early. The boat before us wasn't back yet, and the parking was none. There are maybe 3 businesses sharing one parking area and more businesses fighting for street parking. This was just a little frustrating. Once the boat tour before us came back and left, they get you double parked in their tiny lot. If you don't like that, come early to find street parking. Other than that. This is a bigger charter. You pay a rental for the rod when you purchase your ticket, which includes your fishing license. There are about 25 spots for rods built into the side of the boat, but we were fortunately there was not that many people. Even with only about 15 people on our side, with the drifting the boat does you are guaranteed to get tangled at least once. Thank goodness for Joe and the help on the boat. There in a flash to fix your rod, untangle, or unhook your fish. I can unhook my own bass, but I don't know salt water fish and didn't want to stick my finger in anything I didn't know. You get two cups of bait. They show you how to bait your hook, and once the hour long trip out is over, you do your line and go. The captain was great with getting us on the fish. I caught a couple of flounders, a bunch of bass and a sea Robin! I lost count of how many I caught. We caught lots and got a coupl of keepers. We didn't get the heaviest, but it was close. Bathrooms for all on the boat. Snacks for purchase. Sun shirts for purchase if needed. Be like the cool kids and take a slim rag for after you bait your hook. It's worth the money. If you wanted less people you will be paying more on a different charter. Again a shout out to a great ships crew and their great job. They cleaned our catch and were fun. Thanks for a great time.
