You claim to be available 24/7 but don't have 10 minutes during business hours to duplicate a key? So I called and a woman answered "Hello?" Hello? Really? I asked if I'd reached Northridge Lock & Key and she said "Yes." So I asked if I could get a key duplicated and she said they don't do that. Well if that's the case you need to TAKE IT OFF YOUR SERVICES LISTED. I still considered giving them two or three stars since most of the reviews seem to be four or five stars and it sounds like they've done some good work for other people. But if three stars = "OK," two = "Could've been better," and one = "Not good," I can't give them any more than one star because they had bad service before I even had a chance to use them. He offers a wide range of services for keys & locks on commercial, residential, and auto with years of expertise. He is responsive, and timely. Actually showed up earlier to fix door lock for my brother's broken latch, thumb press, springs, & door lock. I suggest you text him photos of issue in advance for proper analysis. See the sad BEFORE pics for broken springs & latch.. Joesph gave a reasonable & competitive quote, especially when prices have inflated everywhere. He also accepts credit card payments, but cash is best to support him as a small business owner. Given the challenges with the preexisting drilled hole in the door, he was able to get creative & install the brand new Kwikset after the initial Schlage replacement brand didn't fit correctly. He adjusted the door hinges & tightened the exterior base border as a courtesy. He also made extra copies of the keys. Extremely knowledgeable & kind. Works very hard & cares to make needed repairs properly. He kept going back & forth to his vehicle to grab all the necessary tools & parts. He also tested the duplicates to ensure it was working. Also, the fake Yelpers with the invalid horrible 1 star reviews are wrongfully trying to sabotage his business. This should be reported to Yelp as fake & completely out of character to his other validated stellar 5 star reviews. Just awful when Joseph relies upon his reputation & professionalism. And there he was, in the flesh. The Great Magdonal. I clarified my needs, he gave me his price, and business was done. Key was copied. And an invitation to return was extended to me. And I accepted. Every time I have visited MAGDONAL's lock and key, the Great Magdonal hasnt been present. Today I visited for some quick house keys copied, and again--no Magdonal. I vented my frustration to one of MAGDONAL's highly trained ninja Jedi assistant sensei locksmiths, and he explained that Magdonal trained all staff rigorously, so that in his absence all customers would be in good hands. He also clarified that Magdonal had his staff in place so that Magdonal could spread the lock and key gospel to the people of the world. What is a lock, with no key? What is a key with no lock? The lock/key yin/yang sermon. Without one, the other is useless. I realized I was being selfish and did not want to impede on Magdonal's mission. Staff was great. Quick, competent, and pleasant. We were to reconvene in court at 2:30 PM for her to return my keys. I asked Isaac to send someone to the site at 2:45 PM so I could have the locks changed immediately. I texted Isaac, who immediately responded and connected me with an available technician. The tenant did not move out by agreed upon time, but Oscar was punctual. I was sitting in court, stressed to the maximum because I absolutely wanted the locks changed, but this horrid individual's movers did not finish moving for another 1.5 hours past the agreed upon time. Oscar is an absolute ANGEL. I can't believe he stayed on site and waited for an hour for the judge to make the official court order for the locks to be changed. I was about to have a conniption because I was afraid he would leave and I would not be able to get the locks changed. Oscar was a godsend and as soon as he received word that the court order was official, he started the process. By the time I arrived on site almost 20 minutes later, he was cleaning up and it was as simple as him handing the keys over to me. Oscar showed so much grace, even though the situation forced him to wait an extra hour. As someone who HATES waiting, I can only imagine how irritated Oscar had every right to be. Instead, he greeted me with a huge smile and assured me everything was fine. THANK YOU, ISAAC AND OSCAR! Because of you, I was able to sleep soundly for the first time in two months last night.
