I have had one knee and both hips replaced. Physical therapy is a must post-surgery. The therapist and support staff at Tice Valley PT have helped me achieve the maximum benefit of joint replacement. The PTs seem knowledgeable, but their attention is very divided during your appointments as they are working on several patients simultaneously. Your care is mostly provided by "interns" who often need to ask the patients themselves for instructions (instead of the PT). The whole experience feels chaotic. read more

Tice Valley Physical Therapy is by far the most effective, and professionally run P/T facility of the 5 different places I have had P/T over the past 10 years. They have a great team of lead therapists, assistant therapists, and interns all of who get to know and support you while you are in the gym. I am writing this review in the hopes that I can save people who need P/T some time in finding a P/T facility that works for them. Here are the details of how my sessions are run. My therapy starts with 10 minutes of heat and ice. Rob Waters, my lead therapist, checks my progress by asking a lot of questions and puts me through a "try this - try that" so he can see what I'm talking about. Then he manipulates the areas where I am having pain (my neck and shoulder). Then he gives give me exercises and stretches to do in the gym and at home. The first few visits he watched me do every rep to ensure I have the correct form. I no longer need a therapist by my side to do the exercises, but all the employees seem to scan the gym and will come over and correct my form or set me up for the next exercise as I move through my routine. As my condition changes, Rob adds different exercises. The last 10 minutes are for Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS). Each time I am there from about 45 minutes to an hour. I could leave in less time if I needed to or wanted to, but I don't rush through the exercises, thinking the more I put into P/T, the more I will get out of it. Given my past experience, I didn't think P/T would work. I was just in the wrong place or not with the right people. When I started P/T my pain level was between 6 and 9 daily for 9 months. At times, I couldn't drive or sleep because of the stiffness in my neck. Now the pain is between 0 and 3. I am on my 14th visit and will probably use all 24 visits my insurance company authorized. I think I am learning some good habits that want to be ingrained, so I can stay healthy and keep pain away. Staff: 10, Facility: 10, Reception and Billing Services: 10, Results: 10 read more

Have been bringing my mother here since June for rehab after she broke her foot. She is elderly (80+) so I called to be sure they had experience not only with elders but also those who have early dementia. TICE PT is amazing! They team are all very friendly. They are patient with my parents who are elderly. Rob had recently bought the practice and is now one of the primary PT's and he is great. Listens, understands when I explained complicated factors like my Mom's dementia and English as second language. Rob is a very knowledgable PT with strong clinical acumen and understanding of body mechanics. He's also very personable and positive. Dr Don Dendinger and his awesome staff at TVPT are truly second to none! If I could've given them 10 stars I would have. I went to Dr. Dendinger to have him evaluate a 20 year injured shoulder. I was certain I was going to have to have surgery. Within minutes of Don testing my shoulder integrity, he said, you don't need surgery, and if you're willing to do the work, in a couple few months your shoulder will be darn near back to a new normal. And I swear that his unbelievably precise work personally on my shoulder as well as his staffs couple with my work at home doing my exercises...I type this now with a shoulder that no longer hurts and is as if I never had issues. A great PT office that provides both GREAT CARE and a terrific vibe. Both Jim, Don and their staff put you completely at ease, despite the fact that PT really isn't very fun (or comfortable). Have been there for a few different injuries now as have both my husband and daughter. We've been really pleased with the care and advice given. We're all very active so appreciate that as athletes themselves, they're as eager as we are to help us get back to our sports as quickly as we can while being sure we're not pushing too fast and risking reinjury. Jim and Don are amazing. I have been working with Jim for post Achilles Tendon lengthening rehab -- I know that I would not be able to walk as well or as far as I am now without his help! Although, I cannot say that it is a pleasant experience, but the truth is that no matter what a PT experience is not expected to be fun, but it is helpful and Jim tries to make it as fun as possible. I have reached state of total comfort and mobility, such that my Orthopedist has released me from further PT sessions.
