Very knowledgeable, caring, flexible, thorough in their approaches. They look at the whole person not just micro focused on body part.

Walnut Creek Club Pilates was where I started three years ago. The manager Colleen was very…read moreefficient and introduced to me to Tricia or my complementary assessment. I had just finished my PT after having my right knee replaced and looking for a place to continue strength strengthening my knee. At my first class with Tricia, I may have walked in with an aid of a cane, but I walked out with no cane needed. I was hooked and signed up immediately for the unlimited. Push forward I am now about to hit my 500th class and am in certification to be a yoga instructor with yoga USA. How crazy is that? and I owe it all to Club Pilates and they're amazing instructors. Each and every instructor gives you a different perspective on how your body works and what you need to do to have a strong core. So if one review can make a difference, I would tell you to try Club Pilates for a week, and listen to what they tell you to do and you will feel better and stronger. I hope this review helps folks that are undecided.

I said yes, I do it multiple times a week at my current studio. Her immediate response was "oh that's not real Pilates" and when I said yes it was she proceeded to tell me that I was wrong and what I've been doing is not correct and, essentially, saying my workouts were not real. The whole experience was bad and it left me with a gross feeling because I was basically just insulted. When they asked if I wanted to sign up for a free class I immediately said no and left. Maybe don't insult your patrons right off the bat.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this prenatal yoga class. I originally signed up thinking…read moreit would simply be a gentle way to stay active during pregnancy, but it became so much more than that. From the very first class, I felt truly seen, heard, and supported. The instructors Roxanna and Amy created such a warm, welcoming space where every mama felt valued, no matter what stage of pregnancy she was in. The stretching and yoga were incredibly relaxing and helped relieve so many of the aches and pains that come with pregnancy--especially in my hips and back. I always left class feeling lighter, calmer, and more connected to my body and my baby. One of the biggest surprises was discovering that this wasn't just a yoga class--it became a beautiful support group. Sharing this journey with other expecting moms made such a difference, and the sense of community that the teachers fostered is something I will always cherish. They do a mama honoring ceremony, which was one of the most meaningful experiences of my pregnancy. It made me feel celebrated, empowered, and emotionally prepared for birth in a way I never expected. To the incredible teachers--I'm so grateful for everything you poured into each class and for helping so many moms feel special and supported.

I wanted to like this studio, but was left sorely disappointed…read more The studio is beautiful and spacious, although I found the huge store in the front a bit pretentious, with all the tarot card decks, crystals, etc. that was just too bougie for my taste. I was also disappointed by the instructors. The first instructor got all righteous and told us how "sad" we made her feel after she asked people to move over to make space and we didn't automatically respond, in part because some were confused about which way we should move (it was a very large class of more than 50 people.) She treated us like an annoyed mother telling her children how disappointed she was with them. I did get a good workout, but was a bit perturbed by her ungenerous feeling toward us. Give people the benefit of doubt before reprimanding them! The teacher of the other class was also off putting as she started her class by asking students what yoga meant to them. I don't think it's appropriate to quiz students about why they're in class and then subject others to their answers. Others might disagree, but I just want to practice and then get on with my day, not be tested to see that my relationship with yoga is intact. Needless to say, this studio is not for me!

The disparity between the men's and women's locker rooms is impossible to ignore. The men's locker room is clean, well-maintained, and includes a sauna. The women's locker room doesn't even have a sauna. Instead, it has filthy floors, poorly maintained showers that don't drain, and standing water collecting around your feet while you shower. It's unsanitary, disgusting, and completely unacceptable for a gym charging premium membership fees. I tolerated these conditions for months before finally deciding enough was enough and canceling my membership. Unfortunately, the cancellation process was even worse than the locker room. I canceled my membership, yet Forma put me into a "soft cancellation" and quietly started charging me again three months later. I didn't realize it immediately, and by the time I caught the charges, they had collected months of membership fees. Rather than refunding money they never should have taken, they offered me free months at the same gym I had already chosen to leave. That is not customer service--it's a refusal to take responsibility. Between the neglected women's facilities and the way my cancellation was handled, I left feeling that Forma cares far more about collecting membership fees than providing the premium experience it advertises. I would never recommend Forma Gym in Walnut Creek won't be returning.

Ya'll this place will get you in shape in no time. I tried the Lagree class. The instructor was so nice and allowed me to switch over from the Climb x Boot Camp class when I showed up. I was also able to purchase a pair of grippy socks onsite for about $10. The music was good, the lingo will take sometime to learn, but I appreciated the instructor coaching me and helping to position me in the right position, and gave me words of encouragement. There was only 7-8 ppl in the class so I wonder what it's like when it's full. I appreciated the work out bc it challenged me to push myself just a bit more. I had a good sweat and worked my upper body to the point where my arms were going to give out on me, half way through but I kept pushing just a little more. I appreciated that there was no pushy sales person trying to get me to purchase a membership. Now I can give it sometime and a proper think. Everyone was pleasant and professional from the staff to the members in the room. Nicolette was subbing from Danville and she was a great instructor. Provided me with a quick history about how Lagree was established. I definitely hope to come back and try the climber/boot camp class.

Returning to the Megaformer even after hundreds of classes is still a VERY humbling experience. The slow and intentional movements of the Lagree method have left me with Bambi legs on multiple occasions. CB Fit is always constantly adding, modifying, and evolving with the times. I'd done reformer Pilates back in college and loved it, so I started exploring studios nearby. After trying a few in the area, I found X2O Pilates, and I was instantly hooked. They use an Xformer, which is a bit different from traditional reformers. It's like a blend between classic Pilates and Lagree-style training, and it delivers serious results. Since starting a little over a year ago, my body has completely transformed. I have visible abs for the first time since my early twenties, and I'm more toned and defined overall than I've been in years. Eventually, I convinced a few friends to come with me; though they were definitely intimidated at first. But after just one class, they were hooked too! Every instructor at X2O is incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and kind. They each bring their own unique style to class, but you truly can't go wrong with any of them. If you've been thinking about trying Pilates, this is your sign... go try X2O. You're going to love it!
