First mate said Captain Neil always finds the best fish. Very well orchestrated. They took us out 40 minutes. We dropped our lines. 9 minutes later captain Neil ordered all lines be reeled in. They told us we are moving to another spot. 40 minutes later we were right next to Sanibel Island at the end of the pier shallow water. It was advertised that if we don't catch fish the trip is free. You could tell the captain was getting nervous about that. The first mate casted and hooked a fish. Captain yelled let them reel it in. So I reeled in a small fish. Captain moved the boat at least 6 times. we caught two fish and a crab. We were expecting larger fish. We were told we would be farther out in the ocean. We didn't catch a lot of fish. We didn't go out in the ocean. By the time captain wasted time moving to spot to spot fishing was very limited. At the end of the trip he asked us if we wanted to pay using cash or credit card. He charged us $600 to give us a boat ride. Not worth it. I thought for sure catching two fish the trip would be reduced by half. The next day we were at Sanibel island speaking to a guy fishing off the shore. Who just caught two big sharks. We told him how disappointed we were with out fishing trip. We told us we were scammed. He said any boat that uses shrimp for bait are scams. He did mention there are charters that are for real. Most of them scam people. If you pay $600 for four hours of fishing you should fish hard for at least 60% of the trip. We fished about 10% of the trip. Another scam he put out two poles to troll. Problem being the boat was moving too fast and the spinners were coming out of the water.

CJ was very prepared from the get go (he'd already been out since 5am catching baitfish so he didn't have to spend our charter time doing so). We got out to the spot and within 10 minutes we hooked into our first shark. My son (whose idea it was to book the charter) was smiling ear to ear reeling that big fish into the boat. We caught 6 sharks altogether today, including two nine foot nurse sharks which were just monsters to reel in. CJ was great with my kids, coaching them just enough to make sure we landed the sharks but also gave them room to figure out the challenge and have fun doing it. He also made sure my 8 year old daughter got a chance to reel as well - she asked and he delivered! There was another boat about 100 yards away from us, and we could see they weren't catching anything, which I think is a testament to CJ's experience that we landed so many (on top of the 6 we landed, 4 threw the hook and got away). He showed us a few cool spots around fort Myers beach and then took us to Bonita springs where we anchored down on the island for a couple hours. He had beach games for us and went shelling and swimming. We saw dolphins and manatees. There was a storm approaching but he kept an eye on it and got us back at the perfect time.
