Extemely poor customer service. I was once a regular customer- always on time and tipped very well even when services weren't the best. There were times that she was late and I waited outside of her shop for her to arrive without complaint. I Simply wanted to support a local, small black owned business. However, I scheduled an appointment on Thursday evening for Friday morning - paid a $20 deposit and overnight a family emergency happened (death in the family) and I called Tierra that morning when the shop opened to reschedule because there was no functionality to do that online. She informed me that she would be charging me for the full cost of service and that I could reschedule after I paid $55 for services not rendered. I explained to her that there was no way to cancel in " 24hrs prior to my appointment time" because I didn't even have the appointment for 24 hours and there was no way to cancel or reschedule online. I was fine with losing my deposit but I did not owe her for a full service charge on services that she did not render to me. She refused to listen or budge even though her policy technically did not apply to my situation. She went ahead and charged my card for the full cost of service. I will never do business with this salon again as she has displayed that her customers do not matter. I understand policy but this situation was not one that is outlined in her policy and even if it was, any good business person would know that certain situations can be handled on a case by case basis- especially with regards to good, quality returning customers. She has lost a customer in me and I will be sure to share my experience with others. read more
