My first time here, I ordered the Arroz Con Pollo. I'm thinking it was just chicken and rice. I had no idea I was in for an incredible culinary experience. I'm so happy I went with the tamarind margarita! It was so good! It tasted just like tamarind and I love that they have it with the tajin rim. My husband went with the mojito flight and they were all so so good! Don't worry, I helped him out lol. As an app, we shared the chicharrón but we didn't care too much for it. This was our first time here, as my wife and I are trying to seek out new haunts vs. visiting the same old ones. The food was excellent. I had the grilled shrimp/tostone appetizer (exceptional) and the arroz con pollo (too much rice but not enough chicken). She had the steak dinner from the restaurant week menu. It was pretty fatty but when you reached the meat it was worth digging through. The Margarita could use a little more tequila. The service was awesome. Very efficient (and pretty) staff. Had a really good chocolate martini and had a really delicious plato tipico dish of meats and rice and beans. They give you a lot of food so you can decibel doggie bag it home for later. The nachos were labeled GF. I asked if they definitely were and I was told yes. I asked further questions seeing if the chips were put in a fryer and I was told yes. I asked if it was the same fryer as the fried calamari and they said yes. Therefore they were not gluten free. I opted for the shredded cob salad. It was underwhelming. The chicken was not shredded. This place is truly a hidden gem. The bartenders are phenomenal and so is the owner Jessica. The first time I visited, I saw the owner go around the bar greeting each customer by name, seems like everyone there was a regular and I quickly realized why! This is my new go to place for an after work cocktail. Super cute "instagramable" interior, lots of photo ops if you're into that. Try the espresso martinis, chaulafan and beef empanadas. Finally got to try this new place and all I can say is that it is my new favorite restaurant. We were promptly greeted and seated (we did have a reservation which I suggest because as the night went on it got more crowded) Ordered the red sangria with fruit and it is very refreshing. We started with the Guacamole bowl which was so fresh and an order of the pork rind with tostones which were equally delicious. For entrees we got steak fajitas and the buttermilk fried chicken another homerun. For dessert we tried the Coconut cream pie and the salted caramel pie both were melt in your mouth delicious. We decided to give this place a shot on a random Wednesday when we didn't feel like cooking and were pleasantly surprised. The Tiesto chicken quesedilla was very tasty - I didn't care for the balsamic glaze, but it was easy to remove it and my girlfriend liked it on her part. She opted for the seafood casserole and enjoyed the shellfish, yucca and the random bits of fish that were in the sauce. I had the churrasco and was happy with it - plantain, avocado, egg, rice, onion, tomato, beans and a nice piece of tender beef all on one plate - pretty much every flavor and texture was there and many of them blended nicely together. We topped it off with the tres leches and brownie bomb. Tres leches on the overly sweet side, but the brownie was fabulous in every way. Our table was ok, but tight quarters. The young wait staff was also inexperienced. Our table service was slow and sluggish throughout our meal. The food:TOP NOTCH AD ALWAYS! Tanqeuray Gin and Tonics.... First one was weak with lemon. Second did not arrive until we were about to leave..but did have a lime slice. It was also weak. The kicker: $12.00 each. That's Manhattan prices, I tell ya! Tip: 18% gratuity included. Waiter was asked to confirm. He said that is correct and the tip would be for the wait staff since the 18% covered the bar and others.. odd. Finally got around to visiting this new spot a little off Patchogue Main Street. So happy I did! I went with my two friends and we all were very pleased. They had a great crowd for a Sunday night which was awesome to see for this new little spot. Their drink menu offers a wide variety of cocktails, martinis, margaritas and more!
