I have a really wide nail bed, so I have to get longer length and she talked me through that and assured I was very happy with what I got. It's a very family oriented establishment and they care about their customers as individuals rather than only being interested in the money that they make. Will definitely be coming back! When I explained that soaking my hands in a bag of acetone irritates my skin, the technician dismissed my concern, saying that wrapping each finger individually "takes too long." I calmly expressed that I needed to be mindful of my body and health -- something I don't believe should be up for debate during a service. Rather than accommodate this in a respectful way, she wrapped my entire hand in a large piece of foil like a mitten and poured acetone over it. At the same time, both she and a colleague began speaking to each other in another language, and while I can't say for certain, it felt clear they were speaking about me. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary. I made the decision to leave, and when I tried to dry my feet (as I had just started a pedicure), the technician abruptly pulled the towel away, saying it was "only for hands." I walked out with wet feet and a really negative impression. My daughter was with me and even she commented on how tense and unpleasant the interaction was. She told me she appreciated that I stood up for myself, which, at least, was a small silver lining. I wasn't trying to be difficult -- just trying to take care of my skin -- and I left feeling dismissed and disrespected. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this salon to anyone who values being heard and treated with basic courtesy.

A sign at the front desk announced their recent price increases, citing new plastic linings for pedicure tubs and sterilized sets of cleaning tools for each customer as their reason for the uptick. I don't know about the next person, but I'm more than happy to pay the slightly-above prices for a mani pedi if it means that I get to listen to the delightful noise of a technician ripping open a new set of tools for me as they send it into the delicate nail beds of my hands and toes. Speaking of prices, regular pedicures are $20, while an extra five dollars affords you the spa pedicure, which means ten extra minutes of pampering. I've visited twice already and both times, I was happy with the level of care and attention to detail. On my second visit, I chose a pale white color and was impressed with the way Anna carefully studied each nail after the requisite two coats and brushed a third, even fourth coat on some nails to ensure even coloring. Both times, I opted for the spa pedicure. Today, I was a little disappointed by the soft massages and the careless toweling but my last visit had been far more luxurious, with a full callous remover, hot stone massage, and an intense calf and foot massage that made the back of my head tingle in the most delicious way. It would seem that the quality of your spa pedicure really depends on two factors: (1) your technician, and (2) how busy it is. M Nails seems to be a popular destination (in fact, it would seem that most of the cars in the lot are their customers), so definitely call ahead and make an appointment if you can. Also, if their sanitary methods and skills don't persuade you to pay a visit, perhaps the promise of free soda, wine, and mimosas will get you through the door. It brings the salon experience to a new level of relaxation that I, for one, plan to return to again and soon.

It wasn't so busy that I had to wait, but I definitely wasn't the only customer inside. I got a manicure and a pedicure and asked for acrylic on my natural nails with regular polish on my toes. The pedicure was mediocre. Nothing special, and I felt like my technician was really phoning it in for the massage. My manicurist Olivia was very nice and friendly, but I really don't like my manicure. Maybe it's not her fault, but I had no idea that an acrylic full set meant getting a neutral acrylic base on my nails and then shellac gel polish on top of that. I'm use to whatever color I get, that's the color of the acrylic powder (no, not dip) and then a clear coat on top. My nails are very bubbly and super thick. They almost flare out at the tips and just look odd; specifically my thumbs- they just look bad. This place is about 30 minutes away from me, so a drive if I were to make this place my new go to spot. The pricing is very good, but the quality was just not there. I'm interested to see how long they hold up. I most likely will not be returning because the drive is not worth the meh results. They do offer 10% off to anyone who is willing to write a Yelp or Google review. I also saw a discount for first responders. I'm not sure if they have other discounts or offer percentages off to teachers or other occupations, or if they have any sort of happy hour or discount days.
