I was also wondering how dental offices were handling the pandemic, from scheduling to cleanliness practices. Based on the recommendation of a friend, I decided to give Design Dental a call. I'm glad I did! They made everything easy and I felt comfortable the entire time. For new patients, they split it into two visits - one to take x-rays and do a general review, and then a second to do cleaning and/or work needed. When I called they were able to get me in in a reasonable amount of time. They were limiting the number of people in the waiting room by having you call from your car to let them know you had arrived, then took your temperature once they greeted you. The hygienists who took my x-rays and looked over my teeth and gums did a good job explaining what they were doing and looking at. Dr. Schminke was amiable and also clear about the process, answering any questions I had. They were able to get me in for the follow-up cleaning the very next day, which was a pleasant surprise. During the cleaning they offered me an optional item and mentioned that it wasn't covered by insurance, so I didn't have any unexpected charges. I found everyone there to be very helpful and friendly, and the place to feel clean and well cared for.

I'm not over exaggerating when I say it rains every single time I have a dental appointment…read more It is so fitting because I HATE THE DENTIST. Well, that's not a fair statement. I despise the experience and essentially everything it entails. The smells, the sounds and oh my gosh the feels -- it all makes me shudder merely thinking of it. I could think of one million and one things I'd rather be doing then getting my teeth cleaned. Like, grocery shopping with two tantruming toddlers in tow or even running a half marathon with a bum knee in the rain sans music. So, no, I suppose I don't hate a dentist personally-- it's not their fault I have a phobia directly related to their profession. That being said, I actually like this dentist ... if I take a step back and forget what she does. Only thinking of her as a person out in the real world, she's stellar. Jokes aside-- Dr. Miller is professional, extremely knowledgeable, kind and easy to talk to. She does her best to ease my mind, no matter the procedure or circumstance. I'd definitely acknowledge her if I ran into her at a coffee shop or something (so long as I didn't have anything super sugary in hand.) The staff is very friendly. The waiting room is pleasant with upbeat music playing. It is easy to find. They have really streamlined the entire process, your hygienist will make your next appointment for you as you wait for the dentist to stop in AND they send text message appointment reminders! So, since you HAVE to go to the dentist (there's no getting around it unless you want dentures by 40) stop in! I promise this one won't bite.

They go above and beyond to make kiddos feel comfortable at the dentist. My kids love going and always leave with a smile on their faces. Every time I go, I always walk right in and they take me back almost instantly. They don't make you wait for an hour like so many offices do. Dr. Zarei is very involved in the care of your teeth, he is there from start to finish, he even walks you to the door! They educate you on what is going on in your mouth, then let you decide what you would like to do, no pressure at all. I always have so many laughs while I'm there. They gave us (my wife and I) Rude and controlling Julian. My wife and decided to get a new dentist and I had a filling to be filled and my wife had a cleaning on the same day. We let them know we will be changing Dentists on the day of our appointments. We were taken to a room and asked if we still wanted our cleaning and filling done and we said yes. They ask me to come to the room to get my filling done. At this point I was told from Julian that I didn't trust her and that she was NOT going to do my filling! My wife got her cleaning done but I was Discriminated by Julian by refusing to do my filling work! I was asked to leave!! NOT A FRIENDLY PLACE NO MORE!!
