On January 17, 2025, I used my iPhone to search for nearby Indian cuisine and found Tiffin India's Fresh Kitchen located at Currents, Edmonton. I paid online with my credit card for a dinner for myself and my son, scheduled for pickup at 10 PM. However, when I arrived on time, I couldn't find the restaurant's signage. I walked around the block in a blizzard for half an hour until I found the Information Map Directory, which listed the restaurant's name and location. Finally, I located the building and saw a notice on the door stating that the restaurant had been closed since December 2024. I called the contact number twice, but no one answered. Famished, we eventually found another place to buy dinner and returned home. Around 11:30 PM, I received several unidentified calls, which my phone automatically silences. I finally answered one of the calls and was informed by staff at Tiffin's Windermere branch that I hadn't picked up my 10 PM order. I hadn't realized my order had been sent to their other branch, and I only saw the confirmation email after they told me. I explained that we had already eaten and couldn't pick up the food from a distant location at nearly midnight. Despite this, Tiffin charged me for the food that I unintentionally failed to collect. I disputed the charge with my bank, but Tiffin has been difficult to deal with and remains unyielding. I feel my rights as a consumer are being disregarded in this situation. read more

Oh gosh THIS much variety of Indian food options with the dreaded cilantro relegated to the seasonings section at the end, YES PLEASE! This is so excellent. Given the pandemic, I was quite pleased by the large seating area, the great food options and the large variety of Chai options too. This is a safe choice for vegan and vegetarian options (but also for the meat-fans out there) and the Celiac folks I know like the restaurant too as there's plenty that they can eat. This is pretty excellent as it was a quick lunch option and that's precisely what we needed to break up our workdays. I'll definitely be back. I want to try the noodles and more menu options! I also noticed that they have some southern Indian dishes on the menu which I'm eager to try. I have the chicken vindaloo (a nice spice level to it, but super tasty), dahl makhani, and basa fish curry. They were all really tasty - I also got garlic naan bread which was HUGE and nice and soft. Tiffin is located on Jasper avenue right in the heart of Edmonton. The restaurant is very big and open. You pick between 1 item to 3 items plus rice. The 2 item and rice comes at $14. Naan bread is an extra $2. The choices are abundant in Indian Food. I had the Aloo Gobi and the Yellow Dal with Naan and vegetable rice. The portions are big and the naan is big as well. At the end of the line you can get toppings as well at no extra charge. The restaurant is accessible for people with disabilities. It also allows great social distancing. One young person by the name Suraj, a long term employee gave me tips how to choose the dishes that meet my need. I found him to be very kind, respectable, knowledgeable with good listening skills. All Tiffin's staff members are hardworking and walking extra miles to give the best service to their customers. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, with a very spacious seating area and high ceilings. The lighting is superb. The items on their menu are not only delicious but offer vegetarian/non vegetarian options. Once you visit this restaurant you will continue to eat out or do take out to meet your palate. This place is Tiffin good! I'm pretty sure that's where they got the name from! We had the Tiffin 3. Unni's South Indian chicken,5 lentil curry and eggplant masala with safran and turmeric rice. First of, the quality of the food and ingredients are definitely a step above other ready to eat counter places. The chicken was whole and white! The lentil are tasty and hearty! The eggplant pretty spicy! The interior is super clean and there's ton of different place to sit. Plus they are licensed. Definitely check it out! read more

So many delicious vegan and vegetarian options!! I also really appreciate that the use non plastic to go containers. I got the 5 dish combo of and assortment of vegan delights. There where all great except one that tasted like someone accidentally poured lime juice all over it. It was un eatable ( mistakes happen). I also got naan bread which was delicious. The only thing is they should not be pricing the vegan combos as much as the meat combos. The staff was friendly and I would definitely go back!! read more

When curry cravings hit me, they hit me hard and Tiffin has now become my number one place to try a huge variety of delicious curries, chai, and shareables. The saying goes that variety is the spice of life and, along with the spice of curry, this is where Tiffin shines. While none of the curries are the best I've ever had in the city, Tiffen offers the widest selection of curries as well as daily rotating options. With almost a dozen vegan and vegetarian curries and another eight or so meaty curries, you really cover all the bases from spicy to sweet to savoury. My personal faves are the mango paneer and 5 lentil curry. Their chef's specials are also consistently fantastic. The best part is you get some toppings at the end so you can add some roasted garlic, pistachios, pickled toppings, or a wide variety of other finishes. The funny thing is that your Tiffin platters offer options for 1, 2 or 3 curries but the plate remains the same size so you might actually get more value by sticking to one or two curries. The portions here are generous, the sides and shareables are ridiculously good and unique, and despite some big lines the ordering is lightning fast. The large menu is complemented by a big, open, cafeteria-style space which has a very unique aesthetic. Overall the flavours of Tiffin are delicious and while there are certainly better individual curries across the city, nobody beats this place when it comes to the sheer number of options you can easily try. read more

Tiffin has good food, reasonable prices, and a big enough portion to have lunch the next day. I consistently get the Mango Paneer and it is always delicious. The butter chicken is pretty hit and miss, I had it yesterday and the chicken was chewy and overcooked, but other times it's been great. I really appreciate how Tiffin goes the extra mile to be environmentally responsible and uses all biodegradable/recyclable materials. One thing that could be better is a clearer description of the curries, and the two small samples per order, like the kind of samples you get at Marble slab. A tiny spoon dipped into the sauce. They have a ton of variety but a lot of the ingredients are unfamiliar to me so it's hard to know how spicy it will be, if I'll like etc. Overall this is a great place and I'll most definitely be back. read more

A great corner spot downtown for a quick, fresh and Satisfying meal. The containers are generous and ingenious, problem is everything tastes so good its hard to leave left overs to take with you. With three locations i think Tiffin has it right for quick casual in a not so casual upscale environment and setting. Was going to a movie downtown and Tiffin's was a close walk away from the theatre to get some dinner before the show. The restaurant is located where the old Sobeys used to be. It is quite stylish and has tons of seating! As soon as you open the doors, an amazing aroma hits you! They have quite an expansive menu with a variety of vegetarian and meat curries. Coupled with this are multiple choices of rice, toppings, naan, chai tea, etc. I wish I would have tried the chai! I ended up getting the butter chicken with garlic naan and coconut rice. Everything was so good! For $15, I was able to have two meals from the portion they gave. The butter chicken was milder which is what I like (I am a spice wimp). I wish I could talk to you about more things but my friend got the exact same thing, just saffron rice instead! The employees were very helpful, answered questions and were efficient. Excellent value for generous servings of very tasty food. Curries were all delicious, the samosas we could have skipped but overall very pleased. So much seating. We went over the Christmas vacation on a Friday evening so it wasn't even near capacity. With all that room I hope this place is full to the brim at lunch hour - and I wouldn't be surprised at all if it is. I recommend the fenugreek chicken and the southern spicy chicken curry. So impressed. There was an issue with the skip the dishes driver and our delivery, so the restaurant called us, remade our order and delivered it to us themselves. The man who did the delivery also showed concern for the skip driver and refused a tip. On top of excellent service the food was delicious!!! Will definitely eat from here again. Love the tiffins.
